I guess you could say I was just trying to get conversation out of them because I already know a lot about them. Completely satisfied. Over the last 5 years I've purchased 4 pairs of glasses from this location. True, they are a little pricey, but the service I received was excellent. Ms. Shaquana Hobbs addressed every issue and concerns I had. She was very helpful with the styles that fit me well and made great recommendations on tint, frame shape and size. Shaquana was a pleasure to work with. I received a pair of Oliver Peoples sunglasses for Christmas and unfortunately wound up breaking one of the temples. She tried her best to repair them while I waited but it was best that I leave them to see if another worker could try and fix them during the week. The following week, she called to inform me that they would be sending them to a store in Long Island to see if they would have any luck straightening the temple . A lot of effort was being put into this repair. She said regardless of the outcome they will eventually be returned to me. Fixed or broken. To replace the one temple was $285.00, which I wasn't going to do. So, after a few weeks a Fed Ex package shows up at my home with a hand written Oliver Peoples card from Shaquana. She expressed how she was sorry that they were unable to repair the glasses, so instead they replaced both temples, at no cost to me. Wow, how's that for great service. I have been going to this store for at least 5 years and I never felt compelled to give a review because the staff was let's say.. sub par. Last week I saw a new face and decided to walk in, boy was I glad I did. Gabe was One of the most knowledgeable people I've ever worked with he was extremely welcoming and really made sure to go the extra mile to do everything he could for me and not only make me look good.. but make sure I was doing the best for my eye health ..something I never really thought Oliver peoples as a company would care about. The next week I came back to re do all of my glasses with Gabe and had the privilege to meet Alison the manager of the store, she was an amazing help and clearly cared about us as customers but treated us like she really cared, it almost felt like I was buying from family. 100% because of their efforts I will start buying from Oliver peoples again. These days during covid-19 pandemic it's so refreshing to finally get some safe & quality one on one experiences. read more

Do not work with Spring. I have been a longtime fan and customer of Oliver Peoples, but had a very disappointing experience in this store. I was first helped by a very lovely brunette saleswoman, who pulled out 5-10 pairs of eyeglasses for me to try on. I took photos of myself in my 3 favorite pairs, and tried to make note of the name of each style. I intended to refer to these photos later so that I could make an educated decision and return to buy my favorite pair the following morning. Seeing this, Spring gruffly informed me that I could not write down the names of any styles. I explained that I was simply trying to make a more thoughtful purchase. Spring responded with a patronizing and hostile attitude, informing me that only she could keep a record of these styles. This employee was needlessly condescending and rude. She ruined my customer experience. I will be making my purchase in a Manhattan store location. read more

Visited this location three times in an effort to purchase a pair of Finley sunglasses and 2/3 times I went I felt as if I was an inconvenience to the sales associate. Needless to say I made my purchase elsewhere as I was not impressed with their customer service skills. read more

I found myself in need of new glasses. I had been to other optical stores, but failed to find the perfect frames. So I stopped in and the manager, Spring (great name) was very helpful and extremely patient. She explained the different frames and lens choices. I ended up with 2 pair, one for regular wear and a pair of prescription sunglasses, both with progressive lenses. This was experience was painless and surprisingly quick for custom lenses. Had the glasses in 3 business days. Thank you Spring and Sylvia for the endless patience and phenomenal service. I'll be back. read more

Bought a pair of sunglasses in June. Part of the leg broke off. Took back today to get them repaired or exchanged. Had the unfortunate luck to have been "helped" by Joe. An incredibly aggressive, rude and useless salesperson. Had me fill out a form. Told me that the glasses would go out on Monday and that I'd get back in a week. The other salesperson that was there corrected him and said it would take a month for them to get back. At this point my husband asked, why can't you do a store exchange. Why should we be inconvenienced because of a faulty product. This is when Joe flipped and rudely started asking what do you want me to do? He stood up menacingly and started pointing at my husband and asked him "you want me to loose my job?" He continued babbling about how'd we have to "take care of him and his daughters." The entire exchange was ridiculous. Neither one of the salespeople could do anything because there was no manager at the store. My husband at this point told him this is not McDonald's where orders are just taken. It's a high end store and they should offer better customer service. Returned to store a second time because they gave me no proof that I had dropped the sunglasses off. With this horrible exchange we had had, I didn't trust that this man would be honest! The other saleswoman, gave me a sticky note with some code. While I appreciate the way she tried to diffuse the situation...a sticky note??? At this point, we left the store with no resolution until a manager comes in either Monday or Tuesday (per Joe). I will never come back to this store and once this matter is resolved, I'll never buy OP glasses again! Sent complaint to their headquarters because of the treatment this man gave us. read more

Ben was awesome! He was so kind and patient as I tried on a million pairs of glasses :) He wasn't rushing me or annoyed at all as some places might have been. He is genuinely a nice salesperson, would give me his honest opinion, and was not pushy at all. The kicker is, after all that my prescription changed two months later and he was nice enough to swap out my lenses at no charge. He was truly great and extremely knowledgeable. I wear progressive lenses and I'm always worried when going to a new optician that they won't get the prescription right. I shopped Oliver Peeples because they have an excellent selection of really great frames and when you wear glasses everyday, great frames are what it's all about. Big bonus: optician Spring was terrific, did a great job measuring, got my new specs and... couldn't see! Turns out, eye doc's technician made a HUGE mistake but Spring honored the new prescription with no hassle at all. Got my new lenses in no time, and I LOVE my glasses! They look great, they have ZERO distortion (can't say that about all my progressive lenses) and all of the people I worked with at the Short Hills Mall store were professional, friendly, and responsive. I'm getting a second pair next week. I've been wearing glasses since I was nine (over 65 now!) and I would highly recommend this optician. read more
