Chicken Shawarma Sandwich Platter

So good! Ordered for pick up chicken Shawarma Sandwich w salad + garlic yogurt and it was amazing

I really like this place. It's been months since I've been here. Several in fact. It's October 2020 and I haven't been there since January February 2020 So this is pre covid. The restaurant was clean. The owner brought me over some lamb to taste for next time. It was delicious. They have the big meat thing that they slice it off from per order. The following time I went i was going to order it but they didn't have the meat that they'd slice. They had it pre sliced and they were going to hear it up. No thanks. Really enjoyed the hummus and falafel balls. Tender. No frills place.

I've been to the Olive Tree a few times but it's been several years since the last visit. Today I ordered takeout and was very disappointed in the food. A lot has changed since the last time I ate here. I ordered the Falafel, Syrian Salad, Chicken Shawarma Wrap and Lamb Shawarma Wrap. First, the Falafel are still great. They have the perfect texture and spice and are cooked perfectly. They are the only reason for a 3 star, the sandwiches barely deserve 1 star. The Syrian Salad was good however At $7.99 I thought it was very expensive and not really worth it. Now the Chicken Shawarma Wrap was a complete disaster. It was a soggy wet mess that fell apart and was almost impossible to eat. The ironic part is the chicken was so dry and overcooked it was worse than shoe leather. The taste also seemed old as if the sandwich was sitting there for a few days. It had a strong smell of burnt residue. It went right in the trash. Terrible is the only word that comes to mind. The Lamb Shawarma Wrap was only slightly better. It wasn't quite as soggy as the other wrap but the taste was just off. It didn't taste fresh and had a very strong cinnamon taste. It also had the same scent of burnt residue or charcoal. It too went in the trash. Several years ago the food at Olive Tree was outstanding. Today, I think I'd only go back for the Falafel and skip everything else.

Delicious and super fresh! Best hummus I've ever had, and the portion is very generous. I don't think I'll be able to eat store bought hummus anymore! Very happy to support this local gem.

Hands down the best lamb gyro I've ever tasted. We had stopped in Milford on our way home from Boston. Glad we chose this restaurant. The staff prepare the food "authentically". My wife said the gyro tasted like what she remembers she had as a young kid back in the middle east. Wish we lived closer!

This place is the real deal. I'm out here visiting family and called the restaurant ahead of time to ask if the falafel was fresh. I've been to places that keep it under a heat lamp and it's not the same. Ziad gave me an enthusiastic, "Of course! Always fresh!" That was the right answer! We ordered falafel, shawarma, some salads along with hummus and babaganoush. Everything tasted like it was made from scratch and very fresh. I grew up eating this food and no one made it better than mom and my aunts and some uncles. But this was the best falafel I've had. I'm serious. And the hospitality made us feel like we were family. Ziad and his brother took care of us. We'll definitely visit again before heading back to Southern California.

Love the falafel, soft and crispy not hard as the NYC street food. The lamb kebab is also good. Chicken shawarma is bit dry.

Really flavorful shawarma! The people who run this place are really nice, too. They gave us a free falafel appetizer that was delicious!

For small plates, we got the esquites and sweet plantains. The esquites was delicious. For the sweet plantains, they asked if we wanted the crema + queso fresco on the side but it still came on top. Plantains were alright, wasn't loving them though because they were drenched in the toppings. Kale salad was huge! Yummy and fresh. The food came out so quick. I love that they use corn tortillas for the tacos. The pork belly taco was drenched in kimchi, not my favorite but a good cut of pork belly. I like the lamb taco tasted just like a mini lamb gyro. The baja fish taco was my favorite though, it's comes in a huge slab. it was so good I ordered another. I love the chipotle sauce the Baja fish taco comes with too. The music was awesome too, such a vibe. A lot of EDM, felt like all they were missing was a disco ball. Very delicious, would come back.

Convenient for dine in or take out. We found the plantains to be well fried and deliciously sweet. The ribeye quesadilla was good chunks of beef, but while good quality, seemed to lack seasoning. Service was friendly but missed several things in our order. Had to catch before we left we had ordered a drink. Unfortunately did not find out until we got home they had not bagged the dipping sauce for the birria tacos.

Back around 2010ish my friends convinced me to try Saray Turkish Restaurant. I didn't really know…read morewhat I was getting into quality wise but I remember being pleasantly surprised by how good and fresh the food was. There was such great attention to detail that it quickly became one of my favorite restaurants. I recently returned with my pastor for a visit and we both had an excellent lunch! We arrived and were able to be seated quickly since it was a slow weekday, only 8 other people in the restaurant. We sat down and both got a couple of kebab combos, a shepherd's salad, with a mixed hummus and baba ghanoush appetizer. They also bring out house made bread, still hot out of the over. Their bread is fantastic, unfortunately both of us are avoiding carbs so we added it to the to go bag for family. The service at Saray is good, the staff is always friendly. One thing I love about Saray is that they don't rush you out like so many other restaurants do. That being said, if you want the check you may need to flag one of the staff members down or get their attention to get the bill. If you have the disposition of a squirrel this may make you uncomfortable but keep in mind they're not ignoring you; they are just letting you stay as long as you like. From what I heard that's more how they treat you at restaurants in Europe, where your table is yours till you leave. I prefer that than feeling like I'm disrupting an assembly line by not leaving immediately after finishing dinner. Anyway our food came hot out of the oven. I ordered a kofte and donner kebab combo. Kofte is like a Turkish meatball while donner is a lamb and beef blend roasted on a spit. My friend order chicken shish and kofte kebab. The food was cooked very nicely and as always had great flavor to it. The only gripes I could think of at Saray over the years is here or there the rice was a little on the soggy side. Also a few times the donner kebab, the one roasted on a spit, was a little dryer than other times but that's not the end of the world in my mind; plus I've never experienced that with their other kebab choices. If you're rather hungry I'd recommend trying the mixed grill as it's kind of a sample kebab platter. And the Iskender kebab, lamb with tomato sauce and in house made bread, is also a fantastic choice! The atmosphere at Saray can range from a perfect quite date spot to rather boisterous with families and couples filling the restaurant; although generally most of the time it's a relatively calm atmosphere. Keep in mind too that they can be fairly busy at different times, I've gone in there on a Tuesday night and it's been more packed than a Friday, although more often than not the weekends are their busiest days. Saray can be a bit pricey but so is everything these days and they give you decent sized portions. Saray is a model for consistency, they have been on point with their food for years. If you like Turkish food or if you would like to try something new, give Saray a try; they are fantastic!

Our waiter Oulas, (please forgive the spelling that I have probably butchered) was absolutely wonderful! He was so kind and accommodating, he told us stories of Turkey and Himself.
