They offer comfort Italian cuisine with a family-friendly ambiance. The restaurant is spacious with lots of parking spots at the back. The staff are friendly and helpful. We ordered "Italian Nachos" for appetizers and "Cosmopolitan" and "Whiskey Sour" for drinks. Nachos was very delicious and filling. We also ordered "Veal Parmesan" and "Parisian Chicken Pizza" for entrée. But we were so full after our appetizer that we only touched one slice of our pizza; which was very delicious. We also ordered Tiramisu for dessert; well it's not mission accomplished if you don't have Tiramisu in an Italian restaurant. Lol. They would be appealing to a wide range of undiscerning palates. The waiter said the restaurant specialized in pizza and pasta, but honestly I was pretty disappointed with my selection. I got the spicy Italian sausage pizza which is usually a go to for me at other Italian restaurants. The pizza sauce had a kick to it, but it was very salty and too sour for my liking. In addition I was expecting the pizza to be stone oven baked with thin crispy crust, instead it had a pretty generic base. We also ordered a tiramisu to share for dessert, it was honestly very average as well. I've had better tiramisu at Longos bakery. They lady finger was pretty dry and at times you will be hit with a spoonful of really sweet cream and sauce. My friend did order a lobster ravioli which had amazing sauce. How this place had 4 stars in previous reviews are beyond me! Those people must have never dined out before. First off we were a party of 11, they split us up against the wall divided us into two sections of 6 (3 tables each) but we wanted to be one big table, so we moved tables our selves. The place was mostly empty middle of the week for lunch. Next was the food, the only decent part of the meal were I have to say the appetizers! Pasta frutti which were like a nachos to share. They tasted like deep fried wonton wrappers with cheese and gooey cream cheese, peppers, onions, olives and sausage and which was the delicious. The calamari frutti was decent, probably just frozen hen breaded and fried. The wings I did not try, as it's probably only frozen. The worst was the mains. I thought this place specializes in Italian? My cousins Lobster Ravioli was over cooked, I'm sure it's just prepackaged? So all u had to do was boil it and toss it in sauce! Frozen cocktail shrimp on top with no taste! This was $27!! Can you think of what's worst then over cooked Pasta in an Italian restaurant?!? I'm sure there are nonnas rolling in their grave!! I had the lunch special, chicken pesto penne with a side of Caesar salad. The lemon on the Caesar was frozen! So makes me think the salad must be well prepared in advanced! It was overly dressed just sprinkled with bacon and real grated Parmesan upon serving. How does someone over cook pasta at an Italian restaurant?!? You have one job! It was soft and mushy! DONT ORDER Pizza unless u like them thickly carbed. Lava cake was also overdone! Of course, not surprised, no lava, t was just over cooked chocolate cake. When the guy came and asked us whether everything was good good? After expressing the pasta could be better and less over cooked he barely acknowledged it, gave me a look and walked away. Birthday Takeout Dinner Shockingly Awful! Ordered a Cesar salad, shrimp linguine, sphagetti and meatballs, and a slice of cheesecake for 2. Im not even gonna mention the total cost through Uber Eats app because Im certain they've gotta be higher than off menu in restaurant; but I could be wrong. If so, it's grotesquely overpriced. What I thought was 1/my favourite dishes, shrimp linguine, came with these foul pungent Spring onions/shallots/whatever they are? Thought first encounter, maybe some kind of weird garnish; but, SURPRISE, its mixed all throughout! Like who does that!? So powerful their awful taste and smell renders the dish inedible. But I'm starving; so I sit with the thing for like hh trying to get these foreign objects out of what's meant to be a pretty simple dish that remains relatively the same everywhere but this place! Ive tried in many places throughout the U.S. and Canada; and I'm certain it's not a traditional additive. But, alas, even after removal, the taste and smell remains! I finally take a bite and noodles are overdone; of course! But fr though, how on Earth can you possibly screw up 1 dish as much as this? In short, really soured what was to be a quiet birthday night in with some good food; but I was asking too much apparently. Dont go here for anything special. Total waste of time and money for absolutely 0 gain. Shamefully, this was my second encounter with this abomination. How I managed to somehow do it again on my birthday of all times is just sad irony, I guess. But at least the first encounter cooked the noodles to an edible degree; and I did manage to choke down a few bites due to the sheer expense, before I could no longer stomach it. Just gross. Tails left on the shrimp; just lazy to me. I get some restaurants serve it that way; but not my preference. So, basically left starving with no otywr options due to ordering too late and staying in a hotel with no food/restaurant nearby. Was told even the meatballs were tasteless and super dry; with hardly any sauce offered. Really insulting your low standard of takeout. I wouldn't waste another red cent on this place; nor my time. this is one of my favourite restaurants in oakville! their food is always fresh & delicious. we were lucky enough to dine in one last time before covid restrictions of dining in were placed back again. we actually arrived half an hour before closing - but were welcomed and not rushed out at all (some places would definitely do this). precautions were in place, like hand sanitizer everywhere and limited seating. my go to is their lobster and shrimp ravioli. always hits the spot! their penne is also delicious. definitely ordering take out soon again! read more

Delicious!! I was craving Italian food and thankfully this place was just nearby! The food and service was excellent! We came as a group of 6 so we ordered a number of plates to share and try! Everything was so flavourful but my absolute favorites were the polenta bites, the lobster and shrimp pasta, and the sticky toffee pudding. The sticky toffee pudding is a MUST TRY! This place does a fantastic job with their drinks and food. The cocktails are always good and the quality of the food is always good. The cost of a typical entrée is around $15-20. The quality and portions are great. My favourite thing here though has to be the sticky toffee pudding with a scoop of ice cream (this is a must). It's a decent sized portion, so I usually share one after the entrée. The only thing I wish they had here would be fresh pasta, rather than the imported stuff. It has a very rustic feel, similar to a marche for decor. I like the open kitchen, it adds a little bit of liveliness to the restaurant. It has a lot of seats from booths to tables, so they are able to cater to larger groups as well as small groups. The service here is very friendly and they were attentive and prompt. They do pay attention to quality, and will try to make sure you're satisfied with your meal. Not sure where to begin but this is probably one of the most negative reviews I have written for a restaurant. The ambiance is ok not overly impressive but the food is a distaste. The chefs must have never been to Italy, watched Italian dishes being made on YouTube or even know the basics of putting an Alfredo sauce together let alone cook the pasta "al dente" as it is supposed to be cooked. We were a party of 9 people (4 adults and 5 kids). The waitress was friendly but food took ages to come out, even the kids pre frozen chicken tenders. The food is really of lower quality than Olive Garden and the likes. The four cheese ravioli has some kind of cream cheese filling, the raviolis were overcooked and the sauce was more of a bechamel as opposed to cream sauce. The veal Limone came out as I have never seen or tasted it before. It was basically breaded veal with lemon juice squeezed on top of it. What da hell. My friend ordered a plate that had scallops on it and the scallops were like boiled not even seared properly. As an avid Traveller, I have been to Italy no less than 5 times in my life and this people is not Italian cuisine. No remote relation between the two. To add insult to injury the most of the food here is frozen and then dressed up, definitely not cooked from scratch in the kitchen. This place was a find. I have driven by The Olive Press many times, but finally decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. The atmosphere is casual, warm and welcoming and the wait staff is as well. I ordered the Tuscan lamb chops because I wanted something different than my normal steak. The lamb chops have a nice dry rub and it grilled to perfection. The sides were potatoes and vegetables, which add a nice touch. I paired my meal with a nice glass of Montepulciano d' Abruzzo. We've given this place many chances but the in the end they just come up short. Food is basic, and with exception of the Honeymoon Seafood pasta, overpriced and nothing special. I get the feeling everything is from a standard recipe that kids put together. Note that if you want takeout, for some inexplicable reason they will not let you order a small Caesar salad, just a Large..lol. I really like the food here. It's fresh and tasty and they have a lot of options. Wish they had a few more fish options, but I can deal with the seafood pasta. I have been a few times and the service is always really great, attentive and quick. It's a bussling place, and that never has seemed to get in the way of getting the food to the table. The warm olives, calamari and bruscetta are all really yummy. I've tried a number of the pastas, and they're all very good. I will be back when another birthday comes up in the area. The reason I'm mentioning this is that GPS won't take you to the correct location and the hostesses that answer the phone are clueless to where they are (psst - management get it together and tell your staff what you're east and west of, just saying). Yes they have buttons but for everyone that doesn't expect to open the doors with that be prepared to nearly blow a gasket trying to open one. Food was below average. Our seafood pasta was watery. The mussels were tiny, scallops were not fresh, and the pappardelle pasta was overcooked and far from al dente. It was too soft making the pasta seem mushy. Sauce was not impressive-- no consistency, no flavor and watery. Dish was bland. The chicken pizza was also nothing to rave about. The toppings were all dried out including the chicken. It's never fun eating dried out chicken. I could barely tell if there was a sauce base as it was all dried out. Our server was MIA and we had to hail down another waiter to request for ours. By that point, we were ready to order our entire meal without someone starting us off with water, drinks and bread. We decided to finally try this restaurant after wondering about it for so long. We arrived around 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, and the place filled up very quickly after we sat down. We had the calamari fritti and the garlic white pizza for starters, both were very tasty. For our main dish, I had the chicken milano with shrimp and my boyfriend chose the spicy penne puttanesca. I really enjoyed the chicken milano, although my boyfriend found the omission of seafood in the penne puttanesca an unusual (and somewhat unexpected!) departure from the traditional recipe. This was my second time at this restaurant, the food quality has gone downhill. I ordered the warm olives to start, they were mealy and bad. This is something I order all the time at other Italian restaurants, these were inedible. I ordered the shrimp linguine. The sauce was watered down, almost flavourless, it was mixed with a bunch of random vegetables like mushrooms (they looked boiled or steamed) green onions and spinach. I've never in my life had shrimp linguine with green onions. It was not good, I could have boiled noodles at home and added parmesan and it would have tasted better. I sent it back too. I asked for calamari, because my friends were eating, and it's fried, how can you go wrong? They served it to me slimy, felt undercooked. Gross. So I went to McDonald's afterwards. They took the meals off the bill, but still charged for my coke and inedible olives, $20. I work too hard to spend my money on food like that. read more

Great Italian restaurant in Oakville. It's got lots of open space and yet a very warm atmosphere. Good service. I think the pastas are homemade in-house. You can taste the freshness. The ingredients are simple and flavourful. I don't really suggest the popular pasta dishes like spaghetti and meatballs or lasagna. Favourites are the mushroom ravioli and pappardelle carbonara. I enjoyed a belleni too. They don't take reservations for small groups, but if you get there early enough, it's not a problem. The restaurant can get very busy, even weeknights. read more
