Overall, I'd rate this place 3.5 stars, based on the fact I got to sample a variety of dishes and found that they were quite hit or miss. Calamari Alla Griglia (4/5) - the grilled calamari was well-cooked, the sauce was quite tasty, but the portion was quite small. Rucola E Funghi Portobella (3/5) - The salad dressing is yummy, but the price is steep for what it is. While each ingredient in isolation was good, the mushroom didn't feel like it complemented the dressing. Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese (4/5) - Surprisingly one of the better dishes, ordered based on recommendation from the server. I didn't think I'd order a bolognese (arguably the most boring sounding item on the menu), but the noodles and sauce were overall tasty and well executed. Portions were reasonable, but not as "huge" as other reviews made it seem. I had no problem finishing the dish. Gnocchi Al Gorgonzola (3/5) - I think whether you like this dish will really depend on whether you like "stinky" cheeses. The Gorgonzola flavour is STRONG and can be tasty/unique at first, but overpowering 5+ bites in, when all there is to the dish is straight cheese. The gnocchi is soft/pillowy. Tortelli Di Magro (3/5) - The ravioli was pretty good and well-cooked, but the sage sauce just didn't really cut it for me. The dish sounded better than it tasted, and didn't feel cohesive. I think it came with 7-8 large ish pieces of ravioli, but it still isn't very filling on its own. Margherita pizza (4/5) - A classic take on a thin-crust, wood-fire Margherita pizza, nothing particularly spectacular or unique, but it was very good! I heard from others in my party that the dessert and other dishes were generally so-so. The service was friendly but extremely slow. Maybe it's because we came with a very large group and it's a very small restaurant, but it took us nearly an hour to receive our entrees. We came here as a larger group of 7, on a Friday night! It was 5 out of 7 of us, first time trying Sorsi e Morsi. I have been to quite a few Italian restaurants and always expect them to have the same dishes. The dish that stood out to myself and my fiancé- was the grilled calamari appetizer. We both come from European background where we eat quite a bit of fish, and omg this was the best grilled calamari we have ever had, it wasn't over cooked it wasn't rubbery it was in a spicy sauce and just seasoned to perfection! I had the seafood risotto, which had shrimp and scallops it was a little on the peppery side but still very delicious, my fiancé had a margherita pizza and added sopresatta and I had a piece it was also equally yummy. Everyone else had cheese ravioli in white sauce, meat ravioli in red sauce, seafood pasta and cornish hen. We all enjoyed our meals and the company. Vince came around our table quite a bit which was really nice & he was wonderful to talk to- service was amazing. Long story short- I will 100% be coming back and bringing more people to try. read more

We've visited Sorsi e Morsi on two occasions in the last month and were blown away by the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff and owner. They have daily specials and I've had those on both occasions. Portions are huge. The homemade pasta is absolutely unbelievable, as is the seafood dishes and the desserts. Would recommend 110% (this is coming from an Italian that has grown up eating homemade Italian food). No comparison to any other Italian restaurants downtown. read more

Amazing night! The staff provided such attentive service from reservation to the dine in experience. The interactions were genuine and allowed us to really experience the taste of our food before asking how things were. Throughout the night, the staff continued to be available to refill our bread and drinks as needed, as well as participate in the celebrations during desert. The outdoor ambiance at night was especially lovely with the bulb lighting strung around the patio. We loved the caprese salad and their homemade ravioli and berry cheesecake was to die for! If we were not so stuffed from the generous portions - we would likely still be there! We are so blessed to have found this place, to throughly celebrate the beginning of a new exciting career. read more

We ordered dinner from this restaurant the other night for the first time. Everything was delicious. We were told what time to expect the food and it arrived exactly on time. The food was very hot too. This restaurant provides delivery themselves so no guilt about a third party delivery company taking a large portion of the cost away from the restaurant. So we were the only group under 50 (or likely 65 on closer observation) and while there's nothing wrong with that, I can only surmise these rave reviews are from the monied Kingsway set who like their veggies and pasta like mush, and their proteins blah. This place is outrageously overpriced for a neighborhood joint. No AC on a 30C day, we were all sweating buckets. My $40 fish plate had mushy cut up veggies that had to be frozen (ie. I've never seen green beans cut like that except in hospitals and the frozen food section). It's also the first time I've had carrots which tasted sour, since carrots last forever I got to wonder how old that bag was. Pasta by another in our group included oily, overcooked gnocchi that had nothing in it except some microscopic mushrooms and pepper bits. Total cost of ingredients probably $0.50 for a $25 dish. Disgusting appetizer of mushy (catching a trend here?) veal in some weird goopy fish sauce. Only got it because waiter said it contained actual tuna, then he proceeded to argue after it came that he said tuna sauce which all 4 of us swore he did not. No apology for mistake and service was super unfriendly. Who seemed to be the owner came over and seemed quite hospitable near the end but the night was lost. Toronto does Italian so well this wouldn't survive 5 minutes outside the cloistered Kingsway. Did I mention this was $245 for 3 apps, 1 pasta dish, 2 mains and a glass of wine? You could go to Buca or Unita for less than this. Worst meal this year by far, weighing the price point possibly the worst meal I've EVER had. read more

Just came from dinner at this little gem! The restaurant is charming and intimate - the perfect neighborhood Italian restaurant. We shared the warm goat cheese salad, with their fresh bread - amazing! We ordered the gnocchi, which were homemade and light as feathers. I think these are some of the best I have ever had. We also ordered the veal ravioli and they were divine! The pasta is made fresh daily and it shows. We did not have room for dessert but the table next to us ordered cheesecake and I almost changed my mind as it looked out of this world but I just had no space left. I would not hesitate to come back here as the service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

We recently went to Sorsi E Morsi for my parents anniversary. We were greeted in a timely manner and were escorted to our table promptly. After that it was down hill from there. There were only two servers on the floor in a packed restaurant. Which it looked liked they also cleaned the tables, took orders, covered the bar and had to serve the food. We read through our menus and waited an additional 20 minutes before one of the two servers took our orders. The appetizers were presented nicely. When our main course came there was hair in the food and some of our food was cold. It was difficult to communicate with the two servers because they were tending to a full house of guests. I did notice two customer's having to approach the servers while they were getting drinks to ask for their bill. The food had no flavour, portions of the food definitely did not reflect the over price of the food. I would not recommend or ever go back!!!!! read more
