Salads, hummus, baba ganoush and canned fruits in syrup.

Olive cafe is an amalgamation of a great Middle Eastern grocery store and the buffet. The store offers staple Middle Eastern products like canned hummus, olives, mango juice etc. and the buffet offers the freshest food you'll ever eat! From fresh salads to the canned apricots and pineapple in syrup served in the buffet, everything was top notch! Here's my observation with regards to the- Food: 1. Chicken kebabs were soft, flavorful and delectable. 2. Hummus, salads, pita, falafel- delicious! 3. Lamb shanks, chicken legs- delicious to the core, perfectly cooked with herbs and spices. 4. All veggies- eggplant, zucchini, fries- Delicious! 5. Lentil soup and clove flavored rice- what a combination! Perfect food for soul! Please do try this combination. 6. Chicken kofta- Oh so yummy and not chewy at all! Ambience etc: 1. You enter the cafe and head straight to the buffet area on your right. 2. Clean store and extremely well setup buffet area with spacious seating. 3. Food is self service ofcourse and you eat in high quality disposable plates. The cutlery is disposable too but it's of a high quality so the plastic doesn't crack on you while you eat. 3. You pay at the counter after you're done and leave with a full tummy and a happy pocket! I loved eating here and will return soon.

The food was delicious and portions were plentiful. You will definitely take left overs home to enjoy later. Service was quick and polite.

Absolutely loved everything that I ordered. Was in the mood for something different and thought Greek food. Beat thing is this place is right down the street from my house. I ordered the gyro, baklava, greek salad and chicken shawarma. Very good. I will for sure be back for more.

Epic chicken shawerma, yep you could bring me here on a date here for this. Dingy middle eastern market but it's got some of the most intensely tasting stuff coming out of their kitchen. Lunch buffet during the week is really good but the chicken shawerma, which I have kinda put together using the goods the buffet provides is so tasty. They always have the more recognized by the american palette of middle eastern offerings but also put out a couple of their own favorites. Might I suggest also picking up a bottle of the yogurt(ayran) drink to go with the meal and ending with traditional hot tea. Their market is interest peaking, I grab whatever looks interesting and google at home what to do with it. Seriously some of my best meals happen this way. They also have a good selection of hookah stuff to take home, which is amazing after a meal. Wish they were closer.

I ordered entree plate #1 - gyro rice plate ($12.13 after tax) service, there is no need to talk about it. they are not the most friendly people, but i dont care enough right now in my first review i said i really enjoyed their buffet. They do not run the buffet Sunday's (i don't know about Saturday), so i ordered an item from their menu (entree #1). It comes with a fist-sized side salad. the gyro is sautéed with some green peppers and then lain over saffron rice. i did not like the gyro meat. It was very salty and the rice was lumped and, well, nothing notable. i hadn't noticed this about gyros before but i thought about the texture and it reminds me of chewing through a sponge. It made me wonder, how is gyro meat prepared? do they grind the meat and combine it with spices and flour? i'd love to know conclusion: unless i go for their buffet, I'd very much prefer to not return for anything else. their falafel and fries looked very plain. everything looked very plain.. i am no longer bedazzled. bummer

To echo everyone else's reviews, do not judge this one by the exterior, especially at night. Located toward the back of a really small strip of shops, you really have no reason to be in the area, unless you're coming here. The signage from the street is so faded that you could drive right by it. I did. We went for dinner around 7pm. You order at the counter and wait at the tables in the back. In between the two areas is the grocery portion of the store. The owners are from Palestine and they were patient with us asking questions about the menu. After we ordered, we wandered the aisles. I saw some items that reminded me of my trip to Turkey, such as the raw honeycomb and rose water flavored Turkish delights. The food was on point, but almost too salty. The saltiness didn't really become an issue until afterwards. There was so much food! Unless you're a very hungry athlete or a superhero a la the first Avengers, you will have leftovers.

This is our go to place for Mediterranean food. We usually get bulk orders to cater the whole family. We are never disappointed.

What really stood out, though, was the fava plate appetizer. It's a dip that comes with pita bread but it's not like hummus. You could eat it with a spoon. It could be a meal, a very tasty one. You order at the counter, then wait at your table, listen to some middle eastern grooves and a short time later a super friendly server brings your food. The place is great!

Not your typical round shape but more of a tube/long shape which really works great for dipping them in tzatziki. We also had grape leaves which come warm. Yummy! We had a chicken shawarma and gyro entree. Both came with rice, salad, pita, and hummus. All very good. My one criticism is I prefer my protein sliced more thinly instead of a thick cut. It's a texture issue for me. The thicker, the chewier. The chicken also had a bit of chewy skin. It could have had more flavor. Still good but this is what made my review 4 instead of 5 stars. I thought the gyro had a little more flavor than the chicken. You order at the counter and then they walk your food out to you when it's gone. Our two appetizers came out very quickly. Our entrees just a few minutes later. Service was smooth and very good. The guys working there were all friendly. Great service! The restaurant is very clean, plenty of seating, and lots of appropriate artwork. It was cold in there but it was really hot outside that day so they had the air turned up. It did make my dining in experience a bit tough since I couldn't escape sitting under an air vent but I don't really want yo criticize them much for running the air in a hot day. That's better than the alternative. On the way out I got a small variety pack of baklava and a rice pudding. Both really good! I'm still eating the baklava. I really like being able to get the variety! It's hard to choose. We would definitely go back again. On the way out, we saw 2 gentleman with gyro salads. Wow, it's a huge bowl with gyro piled high! Looked fantastic and I want to try the gyro salad now!

The server was knowledgeable about which dishes to try and they recommended the beet pkhali dip so I had to give that a try. That Georgian beet dip was super good that I would order seconds. The classic hummus dip with flatbread was yummy too. The kebab platter with jujeh kabob, koobideh kabob, and adana kabob was the star of the show since all kebabs were flavorful and tender. The Persian butter rice was fire and one of the best rice dishes I've ever eaten to the point that I would eat it every day for the rest of my life. The only downsides are that it's not open during lunch and it's expensive but it's worth it. Overall, I would definitely return to this restaurant whenever I'm back in KC and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting KC. It was definitely worth about a three hour drive from Wichita and I don't regret it. It's easily one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in KC and probably my entire life.

Our waitress was a sweetheart and offered drinks and apps right away. Such a cozy vibe here, it was easy to just cuddle down in the mismatched chairs and follow along. The drinks were served and they were strong and delicious. After visiting Istanbul at the start of summer, I was ready for the taste again. We ordered the pizza and the short ribs. Well, I actually ordered the lamb, but they were out of it. We also ordered the Greek Salad. The salad came first and we shared it. With the fresh veggies and warm bread, it was a great start. The pizza and the ribs came staggered. Not a deal, but I did wait on my entree while my husband ate. In the end, I stole a piece of pizza cause it looked so good. The Turkish sausage was exactly how I remembered. Yum! My short ribs came later and I repaid my husband the favor of sharing, which only left me 3 pieces of meat (started with 4 pieces). This entree is no doubt amazingly cooked, but at $30, it's a bit expensive for my liking and hardly worth the price. I could've used some salt or something also. I don't know, this one went a little south for me. Overall, cute date night spot and friendly service. I would definitely give it another try.
