We visited Meddy's on Valentine's Day for the special girls eating free. There was a line for this popular deal but it was worth the wait! The workers were very diligent and made our food very fast! It did not compromise the quality of the food. It was still delicious! I think this is a great special and recommend it to others. The ambiance of the restaurant was fun and busy, we were well attended and they often came to check on us. I will say they checked on us too often it felt like because they were so busy the servers were almost pushing us out of the door when we wanted to enjoy ourselves. We still had a full plate of food the first time a waiter asked if we wanted a to-go plate. The menu was a little overwhelming to me as a Greek food novice. But the staff were helpful and answered my questions. There's plenty of sauces to choose from- don't miss them! Every time I go to Meddys, I am blown away by how delicious it is. There's stiff competition for Mediterranean food in KC, but Meddys holds their own. Meddys is conveniently located around a lot of street parking and the main Brookside parking lots. You order at the counter and then go find a table. I am always surprised by how busy it gets in there! Sometimes it's best to order to go on busy nights. The service has always been great. The staff are super helpful and nice despite any chaos. Don't forget to swing by the sauce bar (located by the actual bar) on your way to your table to get extra sauce. The garlic sauce is delicious. They also conveniently have take out containers there for easy access for your leftovers! The shawarma wraps that I have tried have all been delicious. Met our niece for a casual dinner at Meddy's in Brookside on a Saturday night at 6 and the place was hoppin'! We still found a table without a problem as the space has a lot of seating. I had the Hummus Stacked Bowl with chicken and a side of garlicky potatoes and both were delicious. My husband and niece loved their choices, as well. I love the cocktail option and they pour a generous glass of wine which is always a bonus! The thing that really stood out was the service in the dining room. Even though you order at the counter there were many servers working the dining room, constantly stopping by the table with a refill on soda or water, asking if we needed anything, removing plates and bringing carry out cartons. All of this was just how they operate and we felt well cared for which was unexpected for this type of a restaurant. Maybe it was because it was lunch hour but they are still busy no matter what. The hospitality staff were buzzing around clearing tables, bringing fresh plates out, and refilling beverages. However, they just took away the area for larger groups to sit together, so this is my formal request to bring that back. oh wow. we have picked up from meddy's many times before, and we have eaten in a few times at the prairie village location. this time, we are sitting down at meddy's in brookside, and we are thrilled with our experience today. to begin, we loved all the window seats we could tuck ourselves beside.. the space is swept so clean (as with all of our past experiences), and the staff are professional. upon entering, we were greeted by a kind-mannered lady. Tried this place on a whim and WOW. We absolutely loved it. With a great location in Brookside, I love their indoor and outdoor seating options. There was live music during our Saturday night visit which enhanced the already fun vibe. To drink, I had the old fashioned which was quite tasty. The mushroom soup was FANTASTIC. I didn't love the falafel shawarma as I found it a bit dry but given how great everything else was it didn't dampen our experience. Oh and I can't forget the delicious fresh pita bread either! On our second visit to our city of KC, we sought out Meddys after a great experience on our first visit a few months ago. The Brookside location was just as good as our first experience, with yummy food, reasonable prices and good service. This visit was just me and my husband on our anniversary weekend; i enjoyed the veggie shawarma and he devoured most of the meddy plate with chicken and a side of delish lentil soup. The warm pita served with olive oil was a bonus. Any trip to KC will have to include a Meddy's meal. Ps the reason it's not a 5 star review? Styrofoam containers for takeout. Yuk toxic! The potatoes have promise with how they are fried but we did not love the lemony flavor on them. We dipped them in their garlic sauce that was nice. I had gone to the Liberty location about a month ago. Fell in love with Mediterranean food. So I decide since I was in the Brookside area I would try this location out. I stood in line to order and right off the bat I noticed new employee on register. So line moved a little slow but I can say the young lady behind the cashier was very nice and polite. I ordered the chicken Shawarma with a side of hummus and pita chips then I decided after paying I wanted to try the half a bowl of lentil soup.. I took my ticket number and sat down by window. A very nice young man bought over pita bread and explained how to pour the oil in the bowl and the shake seasoning in oil. I really thought my soup would come out before chicken wrap. Also I could see the half bowl of soup sitting. I sat for over 8 mins and the Supv or owner bought my Shawarma over with the hummus and pita chips. I said oh I ordered a half a bowl of lentil soup, and the gentleman kinda gave me the impression he didn't believe me, but then he walked back to the counter area and asked very loudly who took the order for ticket number 15 and that if customer orders again, you need to notify the kitchen that the ticket has two orders on it. Again like I said, the guy at the register was new and maybe he didn't know but has anyone told the supervisor his voice it very loudly and customers can hear him. Okay the guy made an mistake but the same young lady who was very polite helping the new cashier came over asking was everything OK? I said hey I didn't get napkins or any utensils. She brought napkins over and I told her that the sandwich was very good. The overbearing supervisor in charge came over with my bowl of lentil soup didn't say sorry or anything just sat on table. I think he was too busy barking out clean the restroom and how he would assigned things to the two new employees. Dude lower you voice.
