I have to rant. After spending the day moving furniture I made reservations for dinner and we were off. We had a very good meal and comforting adult beverages. After we're finished eating My daughter tells me she was glad I didn't see the dog a few tables away. I love dogs, but don't believe they should be in restaurants. I shrugged it off. She continues to tell me the pet owner put his plate on the floor to let the dog clean it up.... When the server comes over to ask how everything was, I tell her about what my daughter saw. Instead of comforting me with words like...I'm sorry that happened...the dog shouldn't be eating off the plate...blah blah blah, she tells me about a man the comes in weekly and orders two veal osso buccos at $35 each. One is for him and the other is for the dog that comes with him. Apparently, there is a plate brought out for the dog and placed on the ground. I tell her...This is too much for me to handle and I will NOT be returning. As any good server, she tells the owner (maybe manager and he comes over to our table). He tells us the water temperature is 350 degrees and surely all dog germs have been killed. Then.....he says...Let me tell you a story about a weekly guest... I stop him!!! I ask him.....you are NOT going to tell me about the 2-$35 veal osso buccos??? to which he stupidly laughed and said...oh you've heard it before?!?!? I told him I'd write about it on Yelp. I know there are many animal lovers out there and I'm sure some of you feed your pets from your plates AT HOME but what are your feelings about dogs eating from same plates in restaurants??? I've worked in restaurants and have seen questionable things but personally....this grosses me out!!!! read more

Just ate here. The wait staff was very friendly but our waiter kept forgetting to bring things we asked for. Got salads before the appetizer, then got appetizer as we were eating the salads. Cesar was drenched with dressing. Took a long time to get main courses and they were luke warm. Sent them back and they still weren't really hot. The angel hair pasta was over cooked and starchy tasting. The tomato sauce was really good but not served hot so not great. For the price I wouldn't return. read more

Had an amazing dinner last night. I Eggplant Parmesan and my friend had penne a la vodka... very good because we had to try both. Very happy to find they had dining on sidewalk that allowed us to take our dog. Very friendly staff who were nice enough to make recommendations based in our likes. Couldn't have asked for anything more. The bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar really made it extra. It is apparent they know what they are doing! Kudos! My wife ordered the chicken cordon bleu. Asked for it with pasta instead of rice. As the waitress put it on the table she acknowledged it was wrong as it was with rice, but nothing was done to fix it. I asked for fettuccine Alfredo as a side, came out spaghetti marinara. Asked if I could get fettuccine. It came out next as fettuccine marinara. Waitress said they didn't do fettuccine Alfredo. An hour wait for dinner to come out, that Happens on holidays, I get it. However if a customer is going to wait an hour, food comes out wrong, why wouldn't everything be done to correct it? manager came out and gave 10 percent off. This is the WORST restaurant we've been to in Mount Dora. AVOID AVOID AVOID!! We live in the neighboring town, Tavares, and frequently head to Mount Dora for dinner. My wife and I decided to checkout Olive Branch this past Saturday (12/17/16) for the first time. It was basically a horrible experience from the beginning. It took the hostess probably 5 minutes just to greet us and then shortly after that sat us at a table on the front porch directly next to the one man band (unable to hold a conversation because the music was loud that close)We started our order with 2 glasses of wine and the calamari appetizer. It took about 15 minutes to get our drinks and 30 minutes to get our appetizer that came out lukewarm. I asked the server to check on our appetizer after about 20 minutes after ordering. We then asked to be moved to another table back from the band and the hostess quickly moved us. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and my wife ordered another appetizer for her entree. After waiting 1 hour and ten minutes after ordering we finally received our salads. At this point we noticed other couples that had been seated 30 minutes after us that had already been served their entrees!! I asked our server what the issue was and she went to "check" and disappeared for another 15 minutes. Water glasses were empty for nearly half the time and I finally tracked the bus boy down to get a refill. After 1 hour and 30 minutes I had had enough and asked our server for the check. She called over the manager and I explained the situation. She took my credit card and disappeared for 10 minutes. I finally went in to the restaurant to track her down and my card. Apparently she was checking on my food, WHICH WAS STILL NOT COOKED!! I once again explained my frustration to the manager while signing my $30 tab for crappy wine and a cold appetizer. YES THEY DID ACTUALLY CHARGE ME even though I never received my entree after waiting over 1 hour and 45 minutes. This place is a joke. There are MUCH MUCH better options in Mount Dora. read more

What I thought was going to be a nice Christmas Eve dinner for two ended up being an awful experience. We always wanted to try the restaurant based upon reviews and decided to give it a chance. Upon entering the restaurant, the first thing that was noticeable was the noise. It was a full house, and there's barely any separation between the tables. We made our way to the hostess and she found our reservations and pointed to a table for two directly behind the podium and right on top of the bar. I mentioned that it was a poor choice but she really didn't have any other tables for two people. Reluctantly we sat at that table. And in no time we were surrounded by people waiting for tables, hovering near the podium and bar. There was so much noise that I actually sent a text message to my wife across from me because I couldn't hear her. We placed our orders and when our appetizers arrived, we had to ask for the bread that we saw served to other tables. Water never arrived either. The only time the waitress asked how we were doing was when she brought something to the table. People sitting in the bar kept bumping into my wife's chair and gave us looks like it was our fault. The dinners arrived and we both ordered veal entrees. And both were swimming in thin sauce that the veal was soggy. The soup tasted as if poured from a can. The whole experience was bad as our first attempt at the restaurant and will not go back. read more

The quality was no where close to justify the $30 price tag and I don't hesitate to pay for good food in Mount Dora. I was asked numerous times if everything was ok. Sorely disappointed when the location had 4.5 stars. It was our last night in Mount Dora and so far we had excellent service and amazing food everywhere we went. We were torn between Italian and German and selected Italian because of the rating and the menu. Our server Lisa took our order, gave us no specials or offered any info of any kind. She brought our salads and asked if we would like black pepper, we said yes and she disappeared. We saw her taking food to other tables so we flagged down a manager and let him know we were still waiting on the pepper. We had barely started eating our salads when she brought our food out. We asked her if we could get bread which came with our meal and other tables had gotten it with their salad. I stopped eating my salad and started on the entree once she brought the bread. To say the food was lukewarm would be a stretch. The same manager stopped and asked us how our food was and we told him it was lukewarm. He offered to take it back to heat it, but we were beyond repair by this time. We asked him her name but never got a response. Finally, with our table full of half eaten food, dirty dishes including empty salad bowls I went to the bar and asked the manager for our check. When I got back to our table Lisa had showed up to clear the dishes. We tried to speak to her about our frustration and someone walked up to her and handed her someone else's food and she said she had to get to this to the customer while it was still hot. Really??? We paid the check in cash, (the manager had taken off the salad and drinks). As we left the couple at the next table said that they were having the same issue with the same server. The food was good...I'm sure a different server and the manager actually correcting the situation instead of just reducing our bill would have given us a whole different experience. read more

Great food and great service! We came for lunch on a Sunday (in January) and had no problem getting a table for 5 with no reservations. The service was great and the manager even came by to say hi and check in. The food was also really great. I had a greek salad that was a little small although it tasted great (even though I prefer my veggies chopped). The dressing was basically just oil and vinegar with some herbs but it made a great dipping sauce for the pita bread that came with the salad. It looked like the lunch portions in general were a little on the small side, but that just means more room for dessert or an app! read more

Service was great, food was ok. I had the pesto shrimp and scallops over linguine, 3 butterflied shrimp and two scallops. I asked for the scalloped to be seared and server requested but manager said they don't do that. My wife had the chicken over gluten free pasta. Both meals tasted good but were very dry and over cooked, we asked for more sauce and were accommodated. It made the meal much better. Manager gave us a few cannolis to go as an apology, and said you guys probably can't eat them (acknowledging my wife gluten allergy - kinda weird). We probably won't return. read more
