He was trying to leave early so that he could go to a concert with his girlfriend. Constantly cutting corners creates more work and frustration for everyone else. First, he rushed through the initial walk through. Then he never did a walkthrough at the home we were moving from to make sure that everything was packed on the truck. He missed so many items that he had to personally come back to pack it in his personal truck and take it. He was visibly annoyed at this, but it was his own fault. Next he disabled the garage door for the unpacking portion of the move but was so distracted and rushing to get to his concert that he forgot to tell one of his teammates or I how to restart the normal programming of the garage door. So after a long day of moving my husband and I spent almost an hour trying to figure out the garage door! One careless person created more work and frustration for everyone else. The rest of the guys were very professional and amazing! Special mention of Raymond who is a phenomenal problem solver. The four guys were patient and kind and treated my auntie with respect and great care! I would use these movers again as long as they promised to keep Harvan far far away!

On my lunch break a few hours later I came back to all of my furniture arranged in the proper rooms, the boxes neatly stacked and everything perfect and ready for unpacking. Not a single broken glass or nicked item. This is a feat considering my new place was three stories of tight stairwells and I am not the best packer. Would use this service again and I would recommend them to anybody needing the perfect moving service.

Obviously…read moreexperienced, and worked so quickly, they definitely worked up a sweat and I felt there was no need to be monitoring them and checking in with their timing. They would be in and out with our furniture and there has never been an issue. This recent move was completely different, with 5 items being damaged, including a hole being torn in the corner of a new Pottery Barn couch! It was dragged on the cement and the upholstery was worn down through to the batting! I complained via phone to the office and was only offered a 5% discount, even when our number of damaged items increased from 2 to 5 when we had a closer look at what pieces of furniture had been damaged. When I inquired about a higher discount because of the number of pieces damaged, I was told it would take longer to make a claim (up to a month to process), and I just wanted to settle the same evening as the move. The claims department tried to insist the damage to my china cabinet (there was a large, noticeble gouge in one of the front doors after unwrapping) was prior damage; but thankfully I had taken a video of my furnishings prior to my move so I could dispute that. It also took the crew of three *nine hours* (and TWO trips- and my previous move with Top Movers only took up half the truck) to move from a two bedroom ground floor apartment to a two-story condo that's less than a mile away! I kept thinking to myself, "what would this move cost if we needed to drive further away, to a different city in the county?!?" Due to the damage to my furniture and the length of time it took for the move to be completed (the crew finished up at 9:00 pm after arriving at 9:40 am), I will never use "Top Movers Global" again. It appears to be "luck of the draw" for the crew that will be sent, and once it's Moving Day, there's nothing that can been done to rectify the situation, unfortunately.

We had to pack up quickly and transport everything to a storage unit quite far away. Moving is already stressful, but Californiacation Movers made the entire process smooth and efficient. Khusrav, Dmitriy, and Shokir were absolutely amazing. They handled our belongings with incredible care, worked tirelessly for 12 hours straight, and managed to Tetris-style fit a 24ft box truck worth of stuff into a 10x10 storage unit--truly impressive! They were professional, friendly, and treated our possessions as if they were their own. If you're looking for movers who are reliable, hardworking, and truly go the extra mile, I highly recommend Californiacation Movers. They turned a tough situation into a seamless experience. We also gave them a 18% tip and the first thing they said was "it looks like you weren't very happy with our job" and were pressuring us to give more tip. They mostly did an ok job but they were slow driving from the old apartment to the new apartment. Why did it take them an hour to drive the same distance when it took 20 minutes? We left at the same time. They got the job done, so I'll give them two stars, but compared to the movers I got this year- the new ones are significantly more efficient and move much more quickly. I had a frustrating experience with this company and would not move with them again…read more When setting up the move, I made it very clear in talking to their office that this was going to be a full move and that we would need the house packed up. I told them how many bedrooms we had, got a quote that seemed fair, and felt that all was right with the world. The first hint that things would be more complicated came when we received an email a few days before the big day, specifying some of the ways in which the move was going to be more expensive than what the quote suggested. While some of these were pretty common sense - for example that we'd be charged for materials - others seemed a bit bizarre - for example the provision that the movers would charge double time for all of the time that they spent driving. But ok, I figured maybe it just slipped their mind to mention those things when giving the quote. And anyway at this point it was too late to change companies. When the guys showed up, however, the plot thickened further, as it was clear that they were not expecting the full move at all. They told us we'd need to call the company and request an extra truck and extra mover - with extra expenses of course - and the first half hour of the move was basically taken up with that. I have to say the guys after that were just fine and did a very competent job, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. But the frustrations and miscommunications were adding up. Fast forward to five days after the move. We've unpacked our boxes and are just starting to feel like we can start living and stop moving our stuff around. Then I get a call from the office telling me that they forgot to charge us an extra $200 for the extra truck. The price we had already paid, I should say, was about double what the initial quote had led me to project. I flatly told them that we are not pay this, and I'm still waiting to hear back from the manager about whether they're going to press this issue. I think the movers are just fine at this company, but there are some serious communication problems between the office and the consumer, and the office and the movers. I don't know if it's dishonesty, incompetence, or maybe just a fluke, but it made an already stressful process that much more stressful.
