I was in the best of care .. I was asked why wasn't I scared. I said; I trust that God gave Doctors the skills they hav and I trust my Dr . He & Dr. Alexander rook excellent care of me. God & both Doctors gave me no reason to fear.. thank God read more

Dr Oleg Bess removed a fibroid in 2005, he did a minimally invasive surgical fibroid surgery called hysteroscopic myomectomy, in which the fibroid is removed through the vagina and does not require any abdominal incisions. He is a fantastic Doctor. Now my doctor is his mother Dr Ludmila Bess, she is very professional, adorable, compassionate and always check on me thoroughly. I'm very happy. Also, the girl at the reception is very nice, never had a problem. read more

I was in my late 40s, pregnant with my third child, when my HMO doctor refused to provide care telling me I would have "too many issues." It was a discouraging and isolating experience during what should have been a joyful time. Thankfully, I was able to change my insurance, and that's when I became a patient of Dr. Oleg Bess. I truly can't say enough good things about him. He welcomed me without hesitation, and from day one, I felt safe, supported, and respected. Dr. Bess is not only incredibly knowledgeable, but he also has the kind of bedside manner that puts you instantly at ease. He listens, explains everything clearly, and treats you like a person not just a patient. I will always be grateful for the exceptional care I received. He made a world of difference during a very important time in my life. Highly, highly recommend. read more

This man is a disgusting creep and I'm sorry to see others have commented the same. My daughter had a procedure with him and when I picked her up, he gave us the recap of the procedure and how she did, at which point he said, "I think she liked it." If that wasn't inappropriate enough, my daughter was under anesthesia. I was completely nonplussed and could not even think straight how a doctor would say something like this. Run fast. read more

WE WERE SCAMMED! While you read the 5 star posts here, don't be fooled by 10 year old accolades from this Mother and Son duo. THEY ARE LIARS and escalate FALSE DIAGNOSIS to scare you into allowing them to perform services YOU DONT NEED. We were told about multiple additional tests to perform that were unneeded though pushed on us from both doctors like it was an immediate issue with my wife's health. Issues ranged from * False STD testing claiming positive * Cysts on ovaries that needed an immediate extraction that ended up becoming extremely costly and QUADRUPLED in the quoted price. * Ultra sound needed and other blood work needed * Anesthesia quoted at $200 with insurance and charged at $800 from multiple sources, some were dead-end fraudulent companies ie. Pace Anesthesia vs Point Anesthesia vs New Line Anesthesia. 3 different companies yet there was only 1 girl in the room providing the service. * Poorly prescribed drugs that were unrelated to ailments Please do not use this place. The prestige is false here. They are QUACKS! They provoke you into being scared about assessments you don't have, then trick you into using your insurance to having them resolved here. We've had excessive and illusive charges to our insurance from this place for services we never had done. We had to call the fraud dept at Blue Shield of CA to validate and invalidate charges and on the phone with Customer Service for many hours throughout the process. Thank God for diligent insurance representatives to represent us effectively so weren't not charged. The front desk is ALL HORRIBLE People that will not return your emails, or calls. We've had to come down there when they open to stand intrusively in the lobby about to cause a scene to get print outs of records, confirm false charges and receive explanations to all of these things. They are NOT polite about any of it. Please read the other people here giving 1 star. Because it totally happened to us as well. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. Doctor giving false prognosis, reassures you after surgery your ok, no results, same issues remain, horrible customer service, horrible bedside manner, lots of false charges, lots of paperwork and phone calls to providers, health insurance companies, and billing institutions. CANNOT RECOMMEND. read more

If I could give 0 star I would. I was a patient of Dr Ludmila Bess for years, up until I needed a procedure to remove a cyst. Dr Oleg Bess was going to perform the surgery, initially scheduled for a date in December, which he canceled THE DAY OF! Claiming a person on staff getting covid. Who cancel a surgery 5h before?! I was finally rescheduled for a date in January, and their office called me the day before to cancel again!!! Due to staff shortage! I have never seen a such unprofessional doctor/office with a lack of respect for the health and schedule of their patient. Lastly, I am now questioning why they can't get surgery center working with them to schedule patients. read more

I initially went to Dr Oleg Bess because he was a fibroid specialist.. He ended up delivering our daughter and will remain our OB. Some of these peoples reviews are disgusting and our experience with him couldn't be more opposite and I have been going here for 5 years. There was NO pressure involved for surgery, tests or anything else, always made my own decision and he encouraged that. He's very nice and a skilled surgeon. Always feel confident under his care. That office is always full of people and Marina at the front desk is my favorite. If we have another child he will be our guy again too! read more

Dr Oleg Bess made me very uncomfortable in my appointment with him. He made weird inappropriate comments about my sex life and was trying to stare deep into my eyes when he had his fingers in my vagina. I am 27 and felt extremely violated All young women please stay away from him. read more

Dr. Oleg Bess is just simply marvelous! I love him! He is so compassionate and knowledgeable! I never thought I would see myself having a male gyno, but he has NEVER made me feel uncomfortable. In fact, I am most comfortable with him. Thank you Dr. Bess and Staff for everything. read more

I concur with Zach's review. This doctor specializes in laparoscopy, so....this is what you WILL get. We were being pushed to that direction since 1st day we visited his office. After 3rd time we dropped out, went to another doctor who found nothing wrong neither with me or my wife. If we had stayed, laparoscopy procedure was inevitable (even though unnecessary). I'm not questioning his professionalism in laparoscopy, just had the feeling that we were going to get it (and dearly pay for it) without the need. read more

Dr. Oleg Bess is the best OBGYN. I have Stage IV Endometriosis an have been his patient for many years. Yeah, you might have to wait for him because he actually takes the time to listen to you and all of his patients, but he's is definitely worth the wait. If price/money is your concern there is plenty of Doctors that will treat you as a number get you your pap and send you home in 15 minutes... And charge you for those 15 minutes. (BTW there are also free clinics for that matter) If you want to be treated like a human being, with respect, the best bedside manners, dedication and with enough time to make sure all your concerns and questions are taken care of go see Dr. Oleg Bess. His staff is wonderful also, from the receptionist to the nurses, great people! read more

AMAZING DOCTOR & SURGEON! * Definitely goes the extra mile and doesn't cut any corners when it comes to doing necessary tests to properly diagnose issues * Extremely attentive * Will take the time to make sure all of your questions / concerns have been addressed * Amazing surgeon! * Genuinely cares about his craft and patients MY STORY: Came to Dr. Bess for a second opinion with a 12 cm. ovarian cyst causing me significant discomfort that my previous (and close to home) ObGyn kept dismissing as 'nothing to really worry about and just take time to see what happens'. It's quite a trek for me to get to his office seeing as I live in Pasadena but at this point, I will make that journey and keep him as my doc going forward because my experience during one of the most trying times of my life to date has been THAT GOOD here. Not only did he proceed to run additional tests and blood work to make sure nothing else was wrong, but he managed to get me into surgery much sooner than anticipated (as at this point it was basically an emergency situation because the cyst could twist and kill the ovary.) My previous doc told me that if I were to go through with surgery I would 100% lose my ovary because of the cyst's size but Dr. Bess was quick and confident in telling me that, that is not the case and sure enough, I'm post surgery today, feeling 1000% better and with BOTH my ovaries perfectly intact! I'm filled with gratitude that there are still doctors, like Dr. Bess, that genuinely CARE about their craft and their patients. *** If you're looking for an outstanding ObGyn in the LA area - you won't go wrong with Dr. Bess - guaranteed! *** read more

Unorganized and chaotic! I didn't even get a chance to see the doctor because the wait was TOOOOO long...its not ok to fill up the waiting room with no place to sit and then make them wait over 45 minutes to see the doctor. Have no idea about the doctor but all I know if they are extremely unorganized...I left! read more

So grateful to be with Dr.Oleg . I've been his patient for many years now and just got my new baby boy, and of course had best experience . Dr. Bess will go above and beyond to make you feel happy and provide the best care. I definitely do recommend my doctor to all my friends and family. read more

I've been going to Dr. Oleg Bess for over 2 years. First time i saw him when i was pregnant with my first baby. He is really amazing doctor. I know he is extremely busy, so i don't expect him o call me back right away, but anytime a have an emergency he takes me in the same day or he calls me back in couple hours. I delivered my baby at Cedars hospital. He never pushed me on having a c-section. My delivery was taking a long time, he was calling nurses to check on me all the time. Now I'm pregnant again and i'm happy that i have such a great doctor. read more

I'll admit the first time I went to the women's center for an annual exam wasn't great. The appointment took forever and it seemed crowded and was just not my scene. I actually tried to find another place to visit when I found out I was pregnant but the women's center could see me fastest since I was an existing patient so I gave it another shot. Once I met with Dr. Oleg Bess my mind changed on this practice. He's easy to get along with and doesn't make me feel like there are things to worry about with my pregnancy. He happily answers all my stupid questions and has seen me when I freak out and think there is something wrong with me after reading too many internet articles. Yeah, sometimes the wait is long - they have a large volume of people that visit. Sometimes it isn't. My insurance doesn't seem to cover their lab costs, but their lab fees don't seem to be too high, so it isn't worth it at this point to make a separate appointment at a LabCorp or Quest Labs in addition to my regular appointments. I recommend Oleg. read more

Dr Oleg performed my hysterectomy. He took amazing care of me and was gentle, kind and caring. He is in my network, which is why my PPO paid 100%. I am very fortunate for the care I received from Dr Oleg Bess, and all of the nurses and doctors at the practice. NOTE: I never had extraneous tests ordered, just what was needed. I now see him once a year or as needed. I am THANKFUL for his wonderful care and concern. Remember, if you are on a PPO and see a doctor out of network be prepared to pay the difference. Good luck to anyone who is searching for a doctor on-line. It's tough! read more

Amazing Dr and the best staff ever! I'm so happy to find a good place. Adriana is so friendly and helped me a lot :))

Dr Bess and the other MDs and staff in this office are great!! Dr. Bess is very personable, knowledgable, and willing to go the extra mile for his patients. I feel well taken care of and I am always able to get an appointment when needed. Dr. Bess is attentive and professional and I feel confident under his care. I have not found this office to be over priced at all! The front office is well organized, kind, and they always run my claims through my insurance, AND they were willing to take payments in installments at the beginning of the year before I met my large deductible. I highly recommend Dr. Bess and this entire group!! read more

Review: Dr. Bess (I haven't had any problems with reception or billing, so I'm going to stick with Dr. Bess here on this one). Seriously? who looks forward to visiting the gyno...no one. all I pray for is a problem free visit once a year and good follow up tests if needed. Dr. Bess has been very supportive over the past years with some tough choices as a young woman. I am thankful for his expertise as he has guided me through some rough spots....I come in once or twice a year now and yes, it does get busy but I've enjoyed our visits as much as anyone can getting a woman's exam or follow up tests...blech! read more

i can't say enough about Dr. Bess. I thank God I found him!! He has a wonderful bedside manor. From my first appointment I knew I had found my Gyn. I recently had surgery and I felt comfortable going into it because the time Dr. Bess took to explain all that it entailed. I have since referred several friends to him because of his compassion. The office staff are friendly and accommodating as well!! read more

IF you are one of the many new patients on Blue Shield Blue Cross PPO covered CA plans and are thinking of using this office's service for ANY health issue, stay far far away! This is a BUSINESS OFFICE. NOT A HEALTH CARE PROVIDING FACILITY. I came in with excessive uterine bleeding, which is pretty scary and daunting on any person, BUSINESSMAN BESS could care less about my well being or health issue. THIS IS NOT AN EQUAL ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE OFFICE. This is a business office that offers the least amount of health care to patients with according to GOON BESS "low reimbursement insurance" In other words, his offer to help me with my issue was "at a cash prices of $1000, I can see you tomorrow, BUT with your low reimbursing insurance I'll see you in a month." meanwhile I can deal with excessive bleeding and being scared outta my wits. Take your BUSINESS elsewhere and while you're at it your uterus. If you're interested and only care about the 'celebrity' status of this quack, by all means have at it. It's your uterus and his paycheck. read more

Terrible office staff, with horrible attitude. Never returning voice mails especially from billing department and lab. Always telling me one story - we are short on staff... Dr. Oleg Bess himself isn't the most caring, competent doctor either - reads my medical records in front of me for the first time!!! Wait time has always been around an hour. Once I was in the lobby for almost 2 hours with no apologies and explanation. Appointments are no more than 5 min with the minimum information. Never told me what my test results are. They don't even check your urine although they ask you to go to the restroom. I'm 32 weeks and still no idea what to be ready for! The most frustrating is the bill I received for my second trimester blood $14,000?!! Progenity lab is calling me and telling that I should send them a check and they don't take Blue Cross PPO insurance that I have. At the time of the blood withdraw I was told it would be $99. Now, it is 14K??! I'm beyond frustrated with this doctor's office. read more

Dr. Bess saved my sister's life just in the nick of time a couple of weeks back... haven't seen the bill yet, but can you really put a price on something like this? I agree with miss L, last year for one visit I paid over $350 ...and I have PPO, also I received a bill from last year , last month 2010 !!! they had a mistake in the bill and request me to send the money ASAP otherwise they will extra charge $10 for the delay ... read more

Dr. Oleg Bess is a great OBGYN. I was a patient of his mother's Ludmilla Bess's until I got pregnant with my first son, because she no longer does labor & deliveries. He is very thorough, and thoughtful doctor. I'm very happy with my decision to stay with the practice and like the option of seeing both doctors when I choose to. read more

If you want your son to be circumcised twice than go to this doctor if you don't want him to go thru the suffering twice than do your research and pick a different doctor. I had my son circumcised by him and it was the worst decision that I took for my son. Now I had to do it a second time just because he didn't finished his job. You would think that a circumcision it's pretty straight forward but not for doctor Bess. And not only the end result was bad but the attitude of the doctor was awful too, he didn't explained to us what he was doing, what to expect, how to take care of the baby once we got home or schedule a follow up appointment. It's horrible to have to see your son go thru the pain twice. read more

I was a new patient for his mother, Dr. Ludmila Bess. She is amazing in every way, shape, and form; however, she doesn't operate. She referred me to her son, Dr. Oleg Bess to have a minor laparascopic surgery. I am one week post surgery and I can honestly say that I am RELIEVED and GRATEFUL that he was my doctor. He was very patient with me and extremely knowledgeable. The 3 incisions are barely noticeable. Yesterday, during my post-op appointment, he took the time to show me pictures of what he removed and thoroughly went over the pathology report. I fully recommend Drs. Ludmila and Oleg Bess and feel lucky to be a patient at their practice. read more

Dr. Oleg Bess is amazing. I've been a patient in his practice for about5.5 years. He is an artist with laparascopy surgery. Thanks to him I was able to get pregnant. He is always very attentive and responsive to calls. He is a very pleasant person to be around. Dr Bess is always up on his current studies and supports his advice with current research, something very important to me. The labor and delivery were a great experience he never rushed the process, in contradiction to many modern doctors he never suggested or pressured me into a c-section even though it took a really long time. I highly recommend Dr Oleg Bess! read more
