Breakfast and lunch here were solid. Portions were huge, food came out hot, fast, and exactly how it should. The place has a relaxed, comfortable vibe that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy the meal. No nonsense, good food, and plenty of it. I'd go back without hesitation.

The Oldwick general store is a Tewksbury staple and for good reason. I've been coming to this establishment for more than 25 years and have seen it transform and change ownership many times. I feel the most recent owners have done a great job updating the place. They've maintained a lot of the historical integrity of the place while updating and modernizing the facilities. The fresh baked rolls and quality of ingredients are unmatched. They make an excellent turkey sandwich and Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich. The one majorly disappointing item was the Cesar salad. It was very tiny for the price and was mostly just romaine lettuce. I would avoid ordering that and opt for a nice sandwich instead.

Everything is homemade and the chef/owner, Sam really knows how to please his customers! Specials are always on point and different than your regular regular grub spot.

Great little old school General store with delicious food. Stopped in to grab some lunch to go. I got a Tewksbury Turkey , Oldwick Cheeseburger and BBQ Brisket. All of it was very filling and very Delicious. They all had their own special toppings which work well with it all. House made chips were seasoned and fried perfectly and had some fries on the side which were also crispy as well. They have plenty of menu items from breakfast to lunch , some house made items like pickles and salads to salsas and pastries. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. Also has a parking lot to park. Service was friendly and fast. I'd like to go back and try some other fair.

I had a great experience here eating lunch. Everyone was super friendly. The food came out quickly, was fresh and tasted great.

Suggested by coworker, went for lunch while visiting from out of town. Nice old house with nice layout. Sat in sunroom deckish area and was a bit noisy but OK. Menu ok for vegetarians, ended up having a avocado toast which was quite good. Came with potatoes. Service was prompt and nice. Ok value for lunch. Great looking desserts in the front area, but too full to try - carrot cake looked proper with cream cheese frosting.

This was my favorite place to pick up sandwiches when I come to visit my dad. I was so bummed when I found out they had closed! When I heard they had reopened, was excited to see what the new ownership had planned. Pretty disappointing. Prices seem absurdly high (and I live in NYC, so I'm used to sticker shock). But $14 for egg salad on white bread and $14 for a pre-packaged Caesar salad (plain!) that looks like it's been there since pre-pandemic days? No thanks. Perhaps it's just growing pains and things will change, but right now just feels like a total rip off.

We enjoyed this quaint and rustic village diner. And the food and service were good. No wait for the 4 of us during the week.

Food is delicious (especially the pastrami)--it is a shame that the service is so slow. I will not return because of this.

Small, cozy, and not trying to be something it's not. There are a few tables if you want to eat there, but it definitely feels like more of a grab-and-go spot. I ordered a half cheesesteak sandwich with peppers and onions while my wife chose a half cheesesteak without. The sandwich was a good size. You have to be very hungry to finish a half. My wife was only able to get through half of her sandwich. Since we were bringing the sandwiches home, we chose not to get any drinks or sides. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Service was friendly and efficient. You order at the counter and they call you when it's ready. No long wait, even with a few people ahead of us. If you're looking for a quick, solid lunch in Whitehouse Station without the chain restaurant feel, this is a good option. We'll definitely be back when we want something simple and well made.

I will try them again but hope they improve.

But I lean towards 3 automatically because I prefer to see business do good. I ended up getting the tooth fairy on a whole sub. My friend had the chicken salad sub. POSITIVES: Bread was good & fresh just like the cold cuts & Cole slaw. They definitely take care of their product. Presentation from how the sandwich was put together, & the Turkey portion was THE BEST. Not too much where it only tasted like Turkey & pastrami, but just the right amount to make it a hefty sandwich where all the ingredients complimented each other. Wrapping & bagging is worthy of mention, great job. NEGATIVES: It was mostly Turkey with a tiny amount of pastrami, like one slice, MAYBE two. The Turkey did not taste like it was a good brand. It didn't have a bad taste, it just wasn't great quality. It would have been a better experience if the Cole slaw wasn't drowned in thousand islands dressing. Since the pastrami was so little it really doesn't make sense to put that dressing on it. Some bites the meat & cheese were nice & warm & other bites it was pretty cold, that inconsistency threw me off. As for the chicken salad sub, my friend had better & also gave it a 3. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The young lady did great in putting things together. Seemed to be a great employee as far as performance, she may need a little improvement with friendliness. Can't say she was rude but a bit stand offish. Friendliness goes a long way. Overall, when you compare the price for quality, I honestly wouldn't come back here again. This place is NOWHERE near a 4 1/2 in my opinion, but I hope they do well.

I had another few items from this spot once again…read more This time I had the Miss Malley sandwich. It was made up of turkey, bacon, melted Swiss, pepperoni, tomatoes, onion, and Shedd's sauce. This was okay. It was not as filled as previous sandwiches I had from here. I would have liked to see a little more pepperoni present. It was definitely an interesting combination, but it failed to meet expectations for me. The Shedd's sauce seemed to be similar to Russian dressing. The bread was great like usual. I also had two of their homemade cookies, oatmeal chocolate chunk and M&M chocolate chip. Again, these were alright. The oatmeal needed more chocolate present. The M&M one was too soft as it broke fairly easily. It did not seem like this particular one was cooked all the way. The taste was there, but just not executed to perfection.

It's normally a 20 minute drive home but because of the rain, it took nearly 30. When we got home, the sub was not soaked to the point where the bread was falling apart, which shows they add just enough and the bread is sturdy. It was just as good as I remember it. I wish I could find someplace similar closer to home but don't mind the drive back to K&S.
