I liked that I could board my dog in a nice large room with internet feed and TV. We did not know that we could also bring dog's personal items (blankets, toys), next time! I brought the product with me and it was a quick and easy process, it never took your groomers very long to do the application. This was a very useful service and it's a shame that you will no longer offer it - There aren't many options for cat owners to prevent destroying our furniture and this was a safe option that doesn't harm the cat. I picked up my cat on day 3 of a 10 day stay. At drop off and in multiple calls I let them know that my cat not urinating or drinking water for 24hrs can quickly lead to an extended hospital visit, as he has had surgery for urinary blockage in the past. I called Day 1 at 5pm (told to get a call back in 2hrs, nothing) and 9pm and left a voice mail.. got a call back at midnight that he hasn't used the bathroom or eaten but it's normal and that id get an update tomorrow. I called Day 2 at 5pm bc i got no call. We told again id get a call in 2hrs. Nothing. Midnight. Nothing. 9am I was told sometimes it takes 24 to 48 hours for the team to do rounds and do call backs. Then why was i told 2 hrs? And why is that OK if my cat has medical risk? Anyway I picked him up bc I couldn't trust anything they say. At pickup at 5pm, he had peed only once, barely eaten, and showing signs of extreme stress. All with no phone call to even ask if there's anything that might help him. People with cats.. just find someone on Rover and do a meet and greet first so you can assess the living space and the sitter. He was peeing and eating and happy within 3 minutes of being dropped at a complete stranger's apartment the next day. The staff ended up being nice, but again I don't even know if I can trust that to be consistent. The team at the desk at Drop-off was much less friendly. read more

Today, we visited Olde Towne Pet Resort for a doggie swim session. It was our dog Koda's first experience with a pool. Mark, who assisted us, was exceptional in handling Koda. His primary goal was to ensure Koda's initial interaction with the water was enjoyable and stress-free, and he succeeded admirably. Mark maintained a playful atmosphere while being mindful of Koda's comfort levels. During the session, Koda made significant progress, taking several independent steps into the water as Mark encouraged him with pool toys. Mark's approach included rewarding Koda for his bravery, which greatly contributed to the positive experience. We were thoroughly impressed and plan to return for more sessions. These people are scammers. They pick and choose what policies that they say they abide by but don't actually let the owners know before hand so then you have to pay extra fees when you get there. They up charge at any opportunity and are also incredibly rude people. The Vet that they work with has outed them for being scammers and stated that they hate working with the pet resort. I have used Old Towne Pet Resort in the past and our experience was okay. We had a couple of small issues but decided to try them again. I booked a reservation for our fur baby through the client portal on their website over a month in advance. I never heard anything back from them. A week before our vacation I decided to check the website to confirm the reservation and found nothing!! When I called Olde Towne to inquire about our pup's reservation I was informed that it had been cancelled due to the fact that they were full during our reservation dates. I was never notified of the cancellation!! The gentleman I spoke with said I was sent an email informing me of the cancellation. I never received any emails from them ever. I was told we could go on a waiting list!!?!! A week before our vacation!! They definitely have the worst customer service skills. I am so glad I checked and we will never be taking our fur baby to Olde Towne again. We were fortunate to find another pet resort. (Pet Suites of Manassas) We went and were given a tour of their facility and meet several of their staff. This was something that Olde Towne ever offered or did for us. I definitely recommend boarding your furbaby here. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to get a kennel with a Webcam so that we could see our dog while on vacation. We also were able to see him while he was in daycare as well since they have webcams in the play areas indoor and outdoor. They have many many dogs during day camp but will have 2 or 3 staff members in each area. The staff made sure to keep all dogs in line when they got a little too playful. It's clean, cheerful and the staff are amazing. You can tell that everyone there loves what they are doing- it's evident in their caring interactions. They even sent really cute photos of her while she was spending the night. I particularly love the webcams. I can watch her while she is playing with the other dogs at day camp and while she's in her "room" at night. It's really comforting that I can check on her anytime I like. Is it a bit more expensive? We needed to board our dog for a few days as we were scheduled for a brief trip out of the country. Unfortunately we could not board him where we usually do because he needed to be isolated due to an issue with his paw that required a bandage be kept on and he wear a cone to prevent him from getting to the paw. So, we thought the Old Towne Pet Resort looked like a good option and they said they could manage this need. Nope. Thankfully we could check via camera because as soon as we arrived to our destination we noticed he was in his room with the cone off and had gotten to his bandage. Thankfully the trip was very short because when we picked him up his bandage was now just a few inches of wrap that they had tried to put on. It immediately fell off as we walked towards our car. Would not recommend if you have any special needs that require more than just letting your dog sit. read more

My dog wasn't fed the day we checked her in; when I requested the food to be returned, I saw all the food hadn't been eaten and no one had any idea what happened. Me - "you didn't feed my dog one of her meals, its not that difficult to figure out." It was a last minute boarding and there were no other options in the area. When we checked her in at 2pm on a Friday, it took over an hour...they kept taking people and dogs before us and the woman checking us in wouldn't look at me and wouldn't talk to me. She would only interact with my husband. I printed out instructions for everything for our dog, but she wasn't interested in those and she wasn't able to understand what we were telling her. She constantly repeated the wrong information back to us. It definitely made us worry. When I made the last minute reservation, they only had a $110 a night cell left...it was like our dog went to puppy jail for two days and we paid $220 to watch her be sad (on the doggy cam) and not eat the night we left her. They wouldn't allow her to play with other dogs. She was too excited to be around other dogs, she would lick their faces and there were other dogs that lost their shit about it. So our dog was in doggy solitaire...I am being over dramatic about it, but our dog is awesome and she had to watch other dogs play, while she was in seclusion. She gets a long with all animals and she couldn't play and be happy, she had to watch. It's just a crappy situation. When we picked her up on Sunday morning, It again took over an hour to even get her... they kept bringing out other dogs, way after we had checked her out. When we finally got her she was ready to GO!! I kept asking for her left over food, but the guy said she ate it. "Uh no, she didn't!" We brought 6 meals with her, just in case something happened and we didn't make it on Sunday. Her meals are frozen cubed meals. You heat one up in water each time she eats. Pretty simple. She stayed two days, thats 4 meals. I'm not a math genius but that means there should be 2 meals left. Well, when the lunch box came out there were 3 meals left, so she didn't eat one meal and it turned out it was Friday evening she didn't eat. I went through all the details on the cards. Solution: We asked for a 50% refund on one of the nights, the woman who was a supposed manager said she can't do anything and would have someone that can do their job call us, well it looks like everyone is incompetent because no one called us back and two weeks later we're still waiting (I am wrong, Fernando did call and left a voicemail on the 19th of December, we picked up our dog on the 18th of December). She kept blaming someone else, no one would take responsibility or even apologize. It's par for the course in many places in Northern VA after Covid shut so many great businesses down. It's a shame. My dog wont die from not being fed for one night, but we paid $110 a night for her to be well taken care of and that's not what you get, you pay a lot of money for subpar performance and they bet you wont notice or say anything. What else are you not seeing? update: Shortly after posting this review - like 5 minutes, Fernando - Executive Director called my husband and after checking my husbands phone, Fernando had called and left a voicemail on Dec 19th. After calling today and apologizing and taking responsibility he issued a 50% refund for the first night. Save your money. Don't take your pet here unless you want them to be injured. I've visited the Springfield VA location for Olde Town Pet Resort, I have a 22 pound 11 month old mini Bernedoodle. Our first visit was great, our groomer was Jhoseps and I couldn't have been happier with the service. I was so happy with the service that I decided to go back on 02/09, requested the same groomer.. gave the same instructions as before. None of my instructions were followed. My pup was not given the haircut requested and on top of that his scrotum and his anus were trimmed too close and they were swollen and blue. I called the pet resort, took my pup to the vet. The pet resort agreed to pay for the vet bill and was also told there would be a "credit note" placed on my account that should take care of my next grooming session, for all the trouble we had gone through. I was also assured that a note would be placed on my pups file for Jhoseps to never handle my pup again and also giving clear instructions to be careful with my pups genitals. I was reluctant to take my pup back but I figured lets give it another shot, so we went back on 04/25. We were told Jhoseps would be his groomer... I almost said no but I believe in second chances so I bit my lip. Gave him clear instructions on what I wanted and made sure I emphasized to be careful with his private parts since we had an issue on our previous visit. I saw this man take notes, pictures of the instructions for his haircut.. I come back to pick up my pup... was told there was no note of credit on my account... fine, whatever.. I'm a firm believer that if you don't have the money for a service you shouldn't go get that service even if you think there's a "credit". So, $145 later... I take my pup home.. He's been at the groomer for almost 5 hrs so I take him on a potty break. As he lifts his leg I notice that both his scrotum and anus are both PURPLE!!! I'm not sure I can post the pictures here but I immediately emailed the resort to make them aware of the issue. The manager, whom I had dealt with on the first time was done, called me around 8pm and apologized.(which I appreciated) Said he'd look into it the next morning. I just got off the phone with him this morning.. only to be told that although the grooming for my pup had been 'adjusted' it clearly didn't work. So a NOTE would be placed (again) so that Jhoseps wouldn't be grooming my pup and that they should be extra careful and perhaps avoid the sanitary trimming. I was taking my pup to PetSmart before I switched to Olde Towne Pet Resort... and PetSmart never gave me this issue. The ONLY reasons I switched to Olde Towne Pet Resort was because the products that they used(shampoo, conditioner) were better quality, which I felt kept my pup fresher longer. I also thought that the Resort itself would be better service than PetSmart.... Boy was I WRONG! Olde Towne Pet Resort.. thanks for the 'note' on my pups file. Your poor lack of communication and follow through has cost you this customer, you should be ashamed. I will NEVER come back. read more

This was the WORST experience ever!!!! My husband and I would take our dog Wrigley to Old Town Pet Resort because that is where his family took their old dog when he was a kid. I hated the high cost and the long car drive for us but I agreed. In May we wanted to go away for our anniversary for a few days. About 8-9 weeks prior to us going on vacation, Wrigley had the ACL surgery. Any dog parents who have gone through this surgery know that we were on strict doctors orders. No running. No playing. Always on a leash! We informed the pet resort of these requirements and the young lady at the front desk noted this in our file. Day 1 of our trip, we were sent pictures from the pet resort of Wrigley running and jumping and clearly off leash. I immediately called the resort and the young lady who answered the phone informed us that the note was in the system to keep Wrigley on leash at all times. She apologized and said she would be sure to let a supervisor know ASAP. Though I was upset I accepted this as an honest mistake. The next day we got more pictures of Wrigley running and playing, this time with a toy in his mouth going up a ramp in the outdoor area. Now I was VERY upset. I called and spoke to a supervisor to understand why it was so difficult to KEEP MY DOG ON THE LEASH! Again they said it was a mistake and apologized. Yea The last day on our trip we were planning to go home and pick Wrigley up the following day to give us time to unpack and get settled. Well you guessed it, more pictures of my dog playing OFF LEASH! Now I am livid. I trusted them with my dog and they completely didn't listen. All they did was apologize but I told them that the apology wasn't enough because this surgery cost us over $4K, so if Wrigley hurt himself while in their care because they didn't follow the very simple directions we gave them, then who was going to cover another surgery for my dog?!! They did nothing to fix the situation besides offer us a lousy credit towards a future stay, like I would ever trust them with my dog again! Worst experience! I brought my pet for overnight boarding during the holidays. Once I picked my pet up, she was sick and was throwing up overnight. She ended up having a pancreatic inflammation due to low hydration levels and also eating fatty foods. This is due to the dogs playing all day, which I paid for daycare, but they should have been more cautious to provide as much water as possible to the dogs. Also, the food I brought them was not used in the last few days. They used their in house food which was the source of the high level of fatty acid. I'm grateful they were able to take care of my pet during the holidays, but I'm also disappointed they did not give the necessary attention to detail to take care of her. Perhaps they need to lower their amount of pet intake in order to have better quality control over the dogs who are there. read more

OTP is the best!! This was the first time I boarded my dog Riley for 2 weeks. It wasn't easy, but I thought it would be the best place for him, as I was visiting my mother who has stage 4 cancer. It was so comforting to see how caring the whole staff was from the tour to pick up. It gave me such peace to know he was in good hands, especially in his senior stage of life, and with some extra maintenance needed. For background, we previously used the resort for years to board/groom our dogs who became deceased in 2020. This was our first visit back with new dog and an emotional return. The resort remolded their lobby since our last visit leaving insufficient space for customers and their dogs to check-in/out comfortably. Customer service is very poor in terms of timeliness to wait on customers and retrieve their pets. We dropped off our dog at 6:30 am on July 23, 2024, for evaluation and doggy day care. The evaluation was not done and our dog was left to spend the day in a solitary room until pick up at 4:30 pm without playtime with other dogs. It took at least 15 minutes for staff to retrieve our pet after requesting an update for a second time on his expected arrival. We will never return! read more

I took my Frenchie her for grooming, as I heard it was a good spot. Her grooming is extremely basic, as she is a small dog and a short-haired breed, so there's no hair cutting or anything like that. I dropped her off at 8am and she was ready at 1130am, which was actually pretty long. Her wash seemed fine as we used the hypoallergenic shampoo, but I was disappointed with her nails, as the edges were really rough and ragged. I was hoping they would be smoother. One of the managers asked if I'd be interested in daycare, but after taking a look into their rooms, it's a hard no from me. There are probably 30 or more dogs in a room, and it honestly looks unsafe and unhygienic, which I told the manager. Not sure if I'll be back for grooming again. read more

There were several times I asked if I could bring my dog inside to drop off for daycamp versus someone coming to my car. I explained how nervous I was and that my dogs can be a handful. My requests were disgracefully ignored multiple times not to mention staff were rude. I always parked in the closest spot to the entrance because if OTPR didn't care about my animals I damn well needed to 8/21/20: The person who came out to my car for my dogs looked ill equipped. She didn't have a good handle on my dog.. isn't that their job?!? And my sweet Maisey ran away, to the road and I watched in horror as she got hit by a truck. My sweet dog didn't deserve this. How dare OTPR not listen to an owner who knows her dogs better and how dare they hire staff who can't safely do their job Maisey's vet bill totaled up to $1200 that OTPR is responsible for but it will NEVER bring back my Maisey. The first time I took my golden retriever to their groomer he looked absolutely magnificent. I just got back from getting him from his second grooming and I am in completely shock at how awful he looks. I'm embarrassed for him. The cut is completely uneven, there are fly hair sections everywhere on his chest, backside, paws, and stomach. It looks like an absolute amature cut his hair. His teeth do look better but I'm almost in tears with how bad his cut looks. Also I specifically asked for his front legs and backside to be fully cut down for the summer and my request was completely ignored. I know I had a different groomer this time and wow what a difference its makes. Unless I can book with the exact groomer who did his first haircut I won't be back. It seems from reading other reviews Jay doesn't know how to cut a golden retrievers hair. Also he was there for 4 hours and was given no water. I have two reviews 1 for boarding and 1 for training at the Springfield location. We have been boarding our dogs here for the last 13 years due to the care and communication the staff provide to us as owners. This past weekend our dog accidentally snagged her toenail while playing and Stephanie ( pet care director) and staff were able to manage the situation, found an open ER and transported our dog for care. We are grateful for the service and attention provided which allowed for us to feel confident until we were able to make arrangements to come home. We also recently did their board and train program with Megan at Springfield. Her bio is not yet on the website, so I didn't know too much until we met with her for our initial evaluation. We were beyond thrilled to see a trainer take the time to under stand our dog's quirks and strengths and not just provide a cookie cutter approach to training. She sent us videos of things she was practicing while our dog was in 'board-n-train' that helped us see strategies she was using. It felt like a lot of money up front, however the small steps of socialization and responsiveness to cues we noticed in our dog after the week was remarkable and she helped to clarify questions after we had returned home. We are appreciative of techniques being individualized to our dog. read more

She has given me so many new tools to use for my dog. She gave me one tip and it completely changed how he acts when we are out in public. She truly loves her 4 legged clients. Re: Grooming with Fernando I have been taking my dogs to Fernando for as long as I can remember-- some 8 to 10 years. Recently, I had an emergency need to have my two dogs hair cut because one of my little guys was to have surgery in a week. I called to make an appointment with Fernando but unfortunately fo Rome (congrats to him and his family!), he is out on paternity leave. Because I couldn't wait for him to return due to surgery scheduled, I took my two dogs to another local groomer. I am so disappointed in Bailey's cut and this experience just emphasized the fact that I do not want to ever have anyone else groom my dogs. You can feel Fernando's genuine warmth and kindness when you meet and talk with him AND his grooming skills are top notch. You would be hard-pressed to find someone as good as Fernando. I hope he never leaves Olde Towne Pet Resort. I also learned he's trained many of the groomers there now which is no surprise. This review is for Olde Towne Pet Resort's swim service! We wanted to take Brinkley, our golden retriever, swimming here for awhile. They have a 20-foot long indoor heated lap pool that's perfect for dogs who need exercise and/or aquatic therapy. We made a reservation for a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived, the front desk staff helped to check us in and scanned some veterinary records. Afterward, Savannah took us and Brinkley to the pool. Brinkley was ecstatic to see the pool. Savannah first helped him acclimate to the ramp (as he's not a jumper). Once he was in, she threw a ball to the other end of the pool and he swam energetically to fetch it and bring it back to her. This continued on for the next half hour. Occasionally, Savannah encouraged him to take a break by resting on the ramp. After swimming, Savannah gave him a quick rinse and blow-dry. Brinkley had a blast swimming. The 30 minutes passed in a blink of an eye for him. Savannah was very friendly and sweet with him, and he loved being around her. We hope she can be his trainer for the next few sessions too! They say a minute of swimming is equivalent to four minutes of running. It's fantastic exercise that works the cardiovascular and respiratory systems without the demanding impact of running. Even though Brinkley is young, we love taking him swimming. We will be frequenting OTPR for more swim sessions. read more

It was our first time boarding our dog here and I am sooooo pleased. The staff was amazing EVERY SINGLE PERSON. To begin my dog stayed for 9 days, I was receiving pictures every few days of our pup having fun! We even received an amazing Christmas photo with Santa (SURPRISED US TOO!) I was so happy, our dog received a nice bath and smelled so good when we picked him up, his nails were trimmed his ears where cleaned he just look so clean! Our dog is pretty big about 78lbs and I was worried that he was going to be to strong but they had staff who where strong to hold him. I absolutely loved everything about old towne pet resort and we will definitely be back. Oh, we had to add an additional day because we were delayed and when I called to add the day it took less then 5 min and was super easy! We left our dog Opie there (Dulles). I'll admit I'm a helicopter mom as he's my baby. I appreciated the webcams as I had to leave him there a week. I did see them cleaning his suite when he went out and playing with him. If I asked for anything special such as leaving his bed in the middle of the floor (since we do that at home), giving him his bone or treats - it was always done within 1 minute every time! They are super and on their game and I can't tell you how much I appreciated it! read more
