I would give half of possibly. The food was horrible, it took 30 minutes to get a sorry burger that was mediocre at best. They ran out of pizza ingredients at 8 pm. And I'm just finding out we should have gotten rolls, we didn't get any bread at all. Server barely refilled drinks. Terrible restaurant, wouldn't be open anywhere else. When I selected 3 stars as my ultimate rating, it was not because my experience was worth 3 stars, it's because all our stops here average a 3 star score. We have had several 4 star visits (usually at lunch). We have had as many 2 star visits (usually at dinner). The service here is always good. The staff is always courteous and friendly. We figure the quality of what we eat depends on who is working. So we tried the same day of the week on different weeks and it was inconsistent quality. We go on different nights and it great. Then do that again and .... damn. In our humble opinion, we believe this place would have standing room only on a Tuesday night if they had just 1 or 2 more good people in the kitchen. This location of Old West Steakhouse is not as good as the one in Paris, TN. read more

So I just finished lunch here and it was amazing. They have the option of menu or buffet and I got something from the menu. I got cajun catfish with a loaded baked potato. Now I have gotten in the habit of eating only one big meal a day since moving to Tennessee. So if you get something from the menu either come with an empty stomach or prepare for leftovers. I got catfish, coleslaw, beans, the loaded potato, and hush puppies. Now the coleslaw was amazing at least in my opinion. The best I've had so far. I'm the type that f person who likes mayo on my coleslaw but not too much so it's completely overwhelming and gets the tart flavor, you know? I know that some people prefer vinegar and they give you the option of having the option of vinegar or mayo. But it had to be one of the best coleslaws I've had in a while. Even better than Kountry corner. The catfish cut like butter. It was so flaky and seasoned well. The seasoning didn't overwhelm the fish at all and fish was cooked perfectly. It wasn't overcooked or undercooked. It was the perfect temperature. The chef knew what they were doing. The beans were good too. I think they were your typical white kidney beans or something similar but what they were in was very flavorful. Next was the potato. Now by this point the food was starting to land, and I was getting full. It was getting to that point where I was thinking to myself 'what the heck were you thinking? Your going to have a huge food baby later'. Anyway, the loaded potato was basically your standard loaded potato but my only complaint on the loaded potato was that it was overloaded with chives. Lunch buffet Monday thru Friday is a great deal at $5.99. They had fried catfish which was awesome, grilled chicken, meatloaf and lots of other proteins and side dishes. I am very understanding since Covid if restaurants are understaffed and service is slow. There was plenty of staff and they were very efficient and friendly. The buffet was cold. The food was below average at best. I left hungry. I usually tip 20-25%. The waitress had not brought our bill so I estimated the cost of 2 buffets and 2 drinks in my head and left $7. When I got to the cashier, I told her what we had and she said $47.15. I thought I heard her incorrectly, so I said excuse me? She repeated $47.15. Then I thought she must be giving me someone else's bill. I said that can't be right. So she handed me the bill. I got a $50 bill from my purse and paid her, but I was IN SHOCK, I kid you not. Horrible experience, maybe I'm asking too much, but I'd like to not have the ceiling consistently leak on me during my meal. Moved to a different table & the ceiling leaked above that table also. Food was way overpriced, my $20 steak was way over cooked in spots & way undercooked in other spots. Ordered a sirloin & received a different cut. Just way to much negativity to list it all. The tables are so old you literally get stuck to them. They feel like there is syrup all over them but its not.. The napkin holders on each table I doubt have been washed in many years. The wall unit A/C will spit water all over your plate from above. And there is black mold in the air vents throughout the building. What is sad is the food is good but one is afraid to eat it because if the rest of the building is in such poor condition how is the food kept and prepared and in what conditions? Heck the front door was ripped off and it was raining and snowing inside for well over 2 yrs until enough of use wrote a review about it and they put the door back on the hinges. WTH?? Drove past on our way to Paris Tennessee, and we noticed it. Drove past it again on our home to Atoka. Noticed all the cars in the lot. There so turned around and came back. That was a great idea to come. We greeted with warmth. The service is warm and friendly. The food is great. Had the buffet. Everything was great. Even with lots of people, there's a places to sit. First time customers. Arrived less than an hour before close. Buffet was excellent! Steak was tender and well seasoned. Catfish was cut thin but still moist. Don't waste your time, because if you eat here you better have plenty of it. The last time (and final) I ate at OWS I sat for 10 minutes as every waitress walked by and totally ignored our table. When we finally got up to leave a waitress ran over to ask if we needed anything. The service is the worst I've ever experienced. Spider-man has nothing on how sticky the tables are. Your hands and elbows will get a workout pulling away from the table every time you set them down. There isn't a clean table in the entire restaurant. This has to be the most disgusting restaurant I have ever visited. Upon arrival after driving for two hours we were hungry and desperate. We decided to stop for the 8.59 lunch buffet. Once we were seated we walked up to the buffet instantly we noticed flies swarmed the place plates were disgusting. There were dead flies all over the food and in the chicken pot. Once we sat down flies we're all over the food and the table and seats were disgusting. Floors were covered with food and dead flies were everywhere. There were gnats flying around the food and we could not find a clean plate at the buffet. There was food on most of them. The food was watery and the steak was dry. The waitress could not find butter for my baked potato and finally brought me some honey butter, which is not good on a baked potato. We have been there in the past and it was great. If you work hard for your money and enjoy a good meal, clean restaurant, and great service then this isn't the restaurant for you. Me and my husband went to OWS a couple weeks ago on a Saturday night about 6:00 pm. We were seated in a wet booth and had to get up. Soaking wet I might add. We both order steak and it comes with a salad bar. When we sat down I asked for silverware the waitress said she would bring it right back out. We get it up to get our salads, sit down, and pray. We wait for 20 minutes and had to ask another waitress to get our waitress. She brings us our silverware finally. She brings out our food and she tells us that we will have to wait on a knife because there wasn't any. We wait 15 minutes before we could even eat because it's a steak and can't really just pick it up and chew on it. The steak was dry and cry and tasted awful. The tables were gross and the floor were slippery. This is not a place of business we will be going back to. Don't waste your time or money read more

I'm in the McKenzie area every 2-3 years and I always stop for dinner. Something major has changed. The food selection is still good and the staff is friendly however the restaurant is not very clean and the food is mediocre. I ordered a ribeye medium rare and it was delivered rare cool center and had no seasoning on it. My wife ordered liver and onions and couldn't eat the meal. We didn't complain, we ate what we could and enjoyed the salad bar. Next trip we will just drive on by. Sad! read more
