Gyros portions are large- beware! My husband can usually eat 2 gyros and fries but the meal was so big he couldn't finish it. The fries are seasoned and so good too. I went and placed order for takeout (there really isn't space for dine in except a counter and couple stools) so food was hot and fresh when I got home. I also brought home some baklava, baklava cheesecake and grape leaves. There's some items ready made in the case like dessert, grape leaves and hummus. Really friendly service and both phone numbers posted on yelp work (one is old, one is new at their Irwin location). Posting the menu and will be back for sure!

Great spot for relatively cheap Greek food! Some of the items are a little overpriced, but most are great! I have tried both the tiropita, spanakopita, and chicken souvlaki. Everything has been tasty, but the portions for the chicken vs pastries are vastly different! Both the tiropita and spanakopita are quite large. There is a special where you can get 2 of the same pastry for $5. They are quite buttery and moist on the inside, which I like. However, there is also a lot of phyllo dough on top, which made it crunchy, but did not add much flavor. On the other hand, the souvlaki is extremely small! It's just a piece of chicken slightly larger than the size of my index finger. It is grilled well, though, and has a nice charred flavor. But for $4.50? Well, you could almost get a while rotisserie chicken for that price! All in all, this is a pretty good Greek spot in Penn Hills. There aren't many other places in the area serving this cuisine, so check it out. It's small and quaint on the inside, but has some pretty decent food.

I decided to try here for lunch today and I was not disappointed. The lady at the front was very sweet and informative helping me pick what to get. I settled on the gyro combo which comes with fries and your choice of a drink. The amount of food i got for $11 was insane!! The gyro is loaded with fresh, hot meat, red onions and the sauce but I got feta with mine too. I waited about 10 minutes from my order (made it there, got my food and made it home before my lunch break was over) and it came out nice and hot. I definitely recommend this place to anyone around the area!

Horrible. The meat was burnt. The pita was small. The fries were OK. First and last visit.

This place is seriously amazing. The staff is so friendly and the food is the BEST. You get enough meat on the gyro for two of them. Always so fresh and tender and the prices are great. I'll never go anywhere else in Pittsburgh for a gyro!

Outstanding Gyros! I love gyros! My favorite place is Steve's up in Cleveland. When I can't make the 2 hour trip up there I go to Old Village Grill on Saltsburg Road in Penn Hills. The meat portions are large with more than enough meat for two gyros. Their options for gyros include (Authentic) a mixture of lamb and beef, (Souvlaki) marinated skewed pork and Chicken. They also offer greek salads, Hummus, Dolmage (stuffed grape leaves), Spanakopita (Fillo dough stuffed with Spinach and Feta cheese and Tiropita (Fillo dough stuffed with a blend of cheeses. For dessert they offer Baklava and Rice Pudding. They have party trays for your next event as well. There are everyday specials like a gyro, fires and a drink for $7.99 or 2 gyros for $10. They do offer a few tables if you can't make it home and want to eat in. They even offer free wifi and take PayPal. Get here now!

If you can't go to Greece for gyros, go here instead. If you can go to Greece for your gyro fix, consider going here first. They're that good. The gyros are huge, the sauce is tasty, the meat; zesty. The service is friendly, and, Bob, the price is right. I keep coming back to this place because of the outstanding food and value, you really shouldn't miss out.

So much food. I asked for extra sauce. Didn't need it. Amazing. Only thing I want is the fries cooked extra.

Sittay's Mediterranean Kitchen -- Greensburg, PA An…read moreUnassuming Jewel with Soul, Spice, and Serious Flavor I went into Sittay's Mediterranean Kitchen in Greensburg with my family for a casual lunch, and from the outside, this very clean, modest, and unassuming little restaurant doesn't try to shout for attention. But once you step inside, you feel it -- you know there is care here. And once the food arrives, there is absolutely no doubt about it: this place is something special. We started with the appetizer platter, and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the best I've ever had. The grape leaves were perfection -- tender, delicate, and layered with flavor. No bitterness, no heaviness, just beautifully seasoned, comforting bites that tasted like they were made with tradition and love. Then came the falafel, which truly shocked me. I've never been a huge fan of falafel because it's usually dry, dense, and in desperate need of drowning in sauce just to get it down. Not here. These were moist, tender, and overflowing with flavor. Honestly -- the best falafel I have ever had. The entire platter was so fresh, so vibrant, and so alive that my entire family kept going back for "just one more bite"... and then one more again. Next up were the pita wraps, and my gyro was an absolute work of art. Overflowing with perfectly seasoned meat and tucked into soft, warm pita, it was generously filled to the brim -- no skimping here. It makes perfect sense why they charge a small sharing fee because one could easily be split between two people. That said, I strongly recommend getting your own... and then taking half home for later (if you have the willpower). My sister ordered the sleek with shrimp, and WOW. I'm typically not a fan of sautéed greens -- it's usually a texture thing for me -- but this completely changed my mind. The shrimp were tender and perfectly cooked, and the greens were flavorful, balanced, and beautifully seasoned. Even as a self-proclaimed non-fan, I was blown away. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the heart behind the counter. The ladies in the kitchen were clearly cooking with love and pride. You can taste the tradition in every bite. Our server was a bit quiet at first, but she quickly warmed up, became very helpful, and offered a recommendation that turned out to be one of the highlights of the entire meal: the seasonal Pumpkin Mamonia. Now let me explain what mamonia is for those who don't know -- because this dessert deserves its moment. Mamonia is a traditional Middle Eastern dessert, similar to a semolina pudding. It's warm, creamy, gently sweet, and infused with spices and aromatic notes like cinnamon and nutmeg. The pumpkin version at Sittay's takes this already-comforting dish and turns it into a fall masterpiece -- velvety, lightly spiced, and incredibly comforting without being overly sweet. It was, in my book, a home run... or the Mediterranean equivalent of one. Unique, cozy, elegant, and absolutely unforgettable. If it's on the menu, do not skip it. As for the baklava, the flavor was tremendous. For anyone unfamiliar, baklava is made of delicate layers of flaky phyllo dough, filled with chopped nuts (often pistachios or walnuts), then finished with a fragrant honey or sugar syrup. It's crisp on top, sticky-sweet inside, and the perfect finale to a Mediterranean meal. My only small surprise was the portion size; for $7, the piece felt a bit smaller compared to how generous everything else was throughout the lunch. That said, the seasonal baklava was divine in flavor -- rich, fragrant, and beautifully made. At the moment, Sittay's does not offer cocktails or wine. There is a tap house next door, but beer wasn't what appealed to my family that day. A simple white wine -- perhaps a Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc -- would be a lovely addition and a perfect complement to their vibrant Mediterranean dishes, especially for indulgent holiday lunches with family. All in all, Sittay's is a hidden gem in Greensburg -- one of those rare places where the food, the heart, and the hospitality come together effortlessly. Make the trip. Take the time. Try something new at Sittay's. You will NOT be sorry.
