Well, well, now since that girl, Diamond Edwards, who was finally fired from old towne man cave, I went back today. The negative comment that I wrote about old towne man cave earlier was my mothers account written by me. Since Diamond got fired a couple weeks ago and they told me that they were never going to let her work there again so, I went there and got my head shaved. Julia did the work, and she even commented about how much better my color looked now than when Diamond was doing it. Updating to 5 stars. Jovana reached out to me personally on the phone to talk about the situation, and apologized for not reaching out sooner. She explained why there was a delay, and it made sense and I could sympathize. Jovana offered me a new haircut and beard trim so that I could give them another try with a better experience. I took her up on the offer about 2.5 weeks ago. Much much much better time! We chatted the whole cut and at the end she gave me her card and a hug. Now here's my apology. I meant to update this immediately, but as I was driving home my transmission went out! Lots of craziness followed trying to get that taken care of and getting home. I LOVE OLD TOWNE MAN CAVE! My kids hated getting their hair cut! It was a knife fight with them every time but after working with Brea and Jovana the kids absolutely love getting hair cuts. I also get my husbands hair cut and I love the results! They listen to what the customer wants and perfect it every time. I also get the back of my head shaven there and I love all the designs I have gotten cut in the spot on the back of my head All in all it's the only place we use. They are great with kids and adults. If you have an opportunity to get other services like manicures and pedicures you should. I love how they always take care of customers. 2020 has proved to be a very challenging year for many small business but the old town Mancave stands out as true survivor. In Jan 2020 the business was taken over by long time stylist and Mancave Original Jovana (Jovi) and is now managed by Brea (Breezy) also an Old Town Original. Being managed and owned by women has only made the Old Towne Man Cave better. They updated many aspects of the business and maintain a great attention to customers. I could go on for days how proud I am to know both of these women as I have watched them turn into business leaders. They have shown resiliency in the face of adversity...from COVID to new ownership and management. Based on the 60+ Yelp reviews, who would not come by to check this place out when their shtick also includes a free beer and a cigar?? I came by here on a weekday and there was NOBODY in the place except one stylist, so I was pretty excited that I would not have to wait. Out of fairness, maybe it's the Corona virus and the social distance requirement that allowed me to exclusively experience the Cave, or not. My excitement quickly turned to sadness when the stylist let me know that my haircut would be $30, not including tip. Unfortunately, I was not prepared to pay 70% more than market rate for a straight-forward haircut. Rats, I forgot to ask if I could get a discount if had declined the beer and cigar. I do like this idea and wonder if I can ask my next barber if they would allow BYOB and maybe a holder next to the chair for my beer?? Now that sounds like a cool idea!! read more

I've been coming here regularly for just over a year, and I always leave happy with my haircut. Called in yesterday to make an appointment for today, but when I went in for my appointment earlier the person I spoke with never put me down in her schedule so she forgot. I was looking for a cut and beard trim but she could only allot time for one or told me to come back at the end of her day. I understand mistakes happen, but I didn't feel like any decent solution was offered. I'm heading to Chicago tomorrow so I couldn't accommodate her schedule for her mistake nor wanted to only get half of what I requested. Watched The NFL Network and enjoyed a cold Northern Lights IPA (Starr Hill Brewery, Crozet, VA) while getting a manicure. as offered a cigar, which I declined. Northern Lights IPA is one of my favorite Virginia IPAs. Afterward I got my haircut. Haircut was really good. The manicure was average. Looking at my nails after I left, they were somewhat uneven. One thing I noticed after I left that I did not like - was that my winter coat and scarf reeked of cigar smoke. You may want to leave your coat in the car if you don't want to get cigar smoke odor to get into your coat. I ended up having to take my coat to the Dry Cleaner to get the odor out. Ben getting my hair and beard done here ever since i moved to Manassas 4 years ago. I have had nothing but good experiences here. I even decided that I didnt like the way my beard looked when I got home, one time and they gave me a gift certificate for a free beard cut. (To be clear they didnt mess up the beard cut. I just decided i wanted it shorter after they gave me the length i asked for.) I never did use the certificate because it wasnt their fault I couldnt make up my mind. 1 star I heard great reviews about this place and even though I was very anxious about it, I still decided to give it a shot. Things that went wrong today: 1) My appointment was at 2pm so I got there at 1:40 to be on time.Upon arrival I noticed only one person was working and she had no idea I had an appointment with her. Needless to say she was busy with another patron. My appointment started at 2:20pm! 2) My beard neck line was straight with the Adam's apple and now it's beyond crooked! Three months of beard growth and care was shattered in a second! 3) The lady shaved my neck with a straight razor that kept pulling my hairs and then she went and used a electric razor that eventually cut my neck causing me to bleed. My neck now looks a mess and it's red and raw 4) the internet went down so they couldn't take my credit card and their ATM was also not working. So I had to go and get money from a different place to pay and give "tips". * the pic shows how damaged my neck is now!* I seriously don't even know why I paid and even gave tip! Been coming here for about 6 months with my son. He gets a cut and beard trim and I go for the cut and shave. Did the Cro-Magnon Cleanse Facial one time and really enjoyed it. Very relaxing and rejuvenating. I like that I can head over and get a cigar and beer from them. Cigars are from Tobaccology, a super selection is almost always available. They are in very good condition also and humidified perfectly. I would go out of my way to get an appointment here. Ms. Julie Anwar ( haircut and beard sculpture) and Natasha Surujlall (foot repair) took great care of me. Both were highly professional and skilled. They worked with care and precision. I remarked to Ms. Anwar that after she shaved me I felt like I had been in the hands of a plastic surgeon. Ms. Surujlall was equally as skilled. Great business that offers great haircuts and a fun environment.

I bought a Specialicious/ Amazon Local coupon for a 90 min Swedish massage for my husband. He had had many massages before, mostly great, a few not so good. This one was not so good. His massage therapist was Amanda. She was pleasant and eager to please but lacked the experience to provide an effective massage. She mentioned to him that she had only been doing that for less than a year. The two main problems were: 1. He spent the entire time face down. She NEVER had him turn over. She spent the vast majority of time working on his upper back and shoulders, minimal time on his lower back and did not work on his legs, thighs or arms at all. Having had dozens of Swedish massages before, this experience for my husband was sadly lacking. And not satisfying. 2. Amanda ended the massage early so the 90 minute massage was about 15-20 short. Her time management skills during the session needs work. She did point out that she "owed" him time and suggested that he come in for a free chair massage one day soon. Technically, it's not free if my husband already paid for it and he didn't get the full service he paid for. This was not a satisfactory massage. My husband is never going back and will never recommend it. Our opinion is that if you purchase a coupon deal from Old Towne Man Cave, you will get an inexperienced therapist who will end the massage early and you will walk out of there wondering why you wasted your time. The stylist seemed very uninterested in assisting with his haircut. She left it choppy/uneven in some areas. If she didn't know how to or didn't want to execute the requested haircut she should've been upfront about it. The hot towel that was included in the service was simply swiped on the back of his neck for seconds. This barbershop is not only about the haircuts but also the experience and for what was paid the experience was lacking.
