Absolutely a wonderful overall first time visit experience this afternoon at this Old Soul location in Fair Oaks Village! I enjoyed the scrumptious TBA sandwich (turkey, bacon avocado, Swiss, tomato, beer mustard on crispy, crusty ciabatta bread with fresh green salad ( balsamic dressing and feta cheese) and dirty chai latte- wow, espresso shots put it over the top!! Service was welcoming, efficient and courteous. Knowing the stellar reputation of Old Soul, we chose this spot and were not disappointed! The relaxing, simple, functional polished wood tables and black metal chair decor inside carries thru with similar outdoor seating which we chose while enjoying fresh air as we viewed the bustling movement toward businesses in Fair Oaks Village. There are several Cafes in the village and Old Soul is a definite repeat visit'!

We came here on a rainy Sunday. I loved my seasonal pie spice latte just as they served it. The mocha was also good. You order at the counter and get a number. They bring your food to your table. The coffee and food came out quick. The burrito had a nice cheesy inside. We got the carnivore with bacon. The potatoes were a little under done. The inside is modern farmhouse with large windows to watch the people and rain.

$9.52 for a Pie Spice oat milk latte. Not worth the price tag.

I appreciate Old Soul coffee in general, but this experience wasn't a good one. I still taste the rip off after being charged $9.52 (before tip) for a Pie Spice latte with oat milk. It was good, don't get me wrong, but it was grossly overpriced for what tasted like an average latte with some cinnamon & nutmeg sprinkled on top. I like the location and the staff was friendly enough, but if they are upcharging this fierce in Fair Oaks Village they may very well end up the way of Bad Fish. Good luck, Old Soul, you're going to need it.

I have been a fan of Old Soul for years (all locations, especially 40 Acres and Weatherstone) and while I was a fan of the prior coffee shop Badfish, I am happy that I can get my Old Soul fix a lot closer to home. When we visited, it was bustling and most of the seats were already taken. It appears I'm not alone in being an Old Soul fan :) We got a couple biscuit sandwiches, a latte and a mocha. I really enjoyed my sandwich which had bacon, egg, tomatoes and onion. My sister got the smoked salmon that she liked, but not as much as I liked my sandwich. We also got the snickerdoodle cookie which was just okay. I will try other pastries on my future visits to see if I prefer other selections. Our coffee was solid. I love their lattes and their chai. I'm looking forward to their upcoming holiday drinks too. The barista who helped us gave great service. I recommend this spot if you're in the area.

Old soul in old fair oaks?!?! What! I usually have to get my fix in downtown Sacramento. I have been frequenting old soul for 9 or so years and I am a sucker for their hot mochas. Love that this location is here - old fair oaks is really getting a glow up. The weatherstone location will always be my tried and true but having this here is awesome. I was watching the employee bust out sandwiches and they looked mouth watering. Service was fast and friendly and I hope this location thrives.

Coffee so bad ppl can't finish it

This place is really awful. Terrible coffee and terrible service. This place has NO soul. I don't know how they are still in business. I'm always seeing the trash cans filled with their cups of unfinished product. I really really hope that this place shuts down so we can get a better coffee house for the community. In the mean time I suggest hiring a whole new staff. Please remove that Monstera from the hallway by the bathrooms. It is receiving poor light and it's in a high traffic area where lots of people are bumping into it, the plant looks miserable. It was thriving underneath the skylight where the bad fish used to have it.

    Chicken Ceasar wrap.

First visit to Old Soul in Fair Oaks today, and unfortunately it was disappointing. I asked about the chicken Caesar wrap and was told it was very popular, so I ordered it to go. The cashier then added, "That's good because it's basically prepared to be taken to go." Not sure what that was supposed to mean, but it was an odd comment. For over $17, what I received was a small 5-inch wrap with no side, no chips--just three paper-thin orange slices. The wrap itself was just OK, but the Caesar dressing was extremely fishy, to the point it overpowered everything else. At $10 this would still feel overpriced, but at $17 it just felt insulting for the portion and quality. At the time of this review 7 of the 21 reviews are ONE STAR! With the low expectation for good food / service these days you have to try real hard to get reviews this bad. Overall, not worth the value, and I left pretty disappointed. One last note, the snarky and rude responses from the owner or manager on the Google reviews is very telling of what this place thinks of thier customers.

Nice to have Old Soul in downtown Fair Oaks. Went to their places in Sacramento for years. You can get both a coffee and breakfast there.

Has that feeling.. ya know?!? Service was fast and friendly, everything was super fresh, made to order and solid portions. I got the village veggie, with no cream cheese, but thinking back.. that would probably even make the sandwich more epic, it hit all the right spots. It was flavorful and delivered very well. - my buddy got some kind of chicken sandwich that he said was amazing as well. I also got a coffee and that was tasty, they use Java City, nothing special in my eyes, but I get it. It's a longtime staple. - I didn't even get to touch the desserts this time!!, that will be my mission next visit, along with trying something else... from roaming local roosters to just a really beautiful hangout, definitely this place is worth checking out. As I started to take my first sip I realized - oh that terrible smell is my coffee! I tried a sip and verified this was bad and not drinkable. My friend also tried to take a sip and she couldn't. I walked in and shared with the barista that something was wrong with the coffee. I couldn't drink it. She just looked at me funny and said, "what do you mean?" She offered another cup and I told her- I wanted a refund this coffee was unsinkable. She didn't see to believe me and I said I wanted her and the team to know because it wasn't like I didn't like the taste. This was more of a health hazard to me and I was concerned it could make someone sick. She gave me the refund which was good. At no point did she say they were sorry. She's didn't apologize or validate my concern that the coffee was terrible. She and her team (three of them) all looked at me and said "well we make each batch th same." I gave up and just said. I thought you should know because this is not something you should serve.

This specific Sandwich Spot location was one of my original favorite sandwich shops of all time…read more My friend Ashley and I used to always come here and split a Cougar on Dutch Crunch, sub pastrami for turkey. Feeling nostalgic, I recently decided to have lunch here. I asked for a Cougar with pastrami instead of turkey. "You want a number 26?" (Looks at menu) "Yes, with pastrami instead of turkey." "Number 26, right?" When I had walked in, I saw two girls cleaning. One of them had stopped to take my order. After taking my order, she continued to clean for exactly ten minutes before stopping, washing her hands, and beginning to prepare my sandwich. (I'm positive that it was exactly ten minutes before she even *started* to make my sandwich, because I get a text message the minute my card is charged, so it's easy to just look at the text, and see how much time has elapsed.) As she finished making my sandwich, another guest came in. After she placed her order, the second girl washed her hands, and both girls made her sandwich together. While I had waited nearly fifteen minutes for my sandwich, this girl waited for less than two. It was so odd. As I ate my sandwich, both girls behind the counter stared at me so hard that I seriously wondered if they had done something funky to my sandwich. So, all of that was very strange. But the sandwich was good. None of the ingredients were missing. The veggies were all in ridiculously tiny quantities in comparison to the super smearing of sauce, but, it was all there, and it tasted good. When it comes to sandwiches, in terms of the meat, you get what you pay for. Sandwich Spot uses cheaper meat than some fancier delis do, but they also use a larger quantity of it. So, if you would rather have a large amount of okay pastrami versus a medium amount of great pastrami, then, Sandwich Spot is the spot for you. If you're really into premium lunch meat, though, this isn't it. The pastrami tasted like it could have come from the fridge section at Winco or Walmart. Overall, for a cheaper/lower-end sandwich place, Sandwich Spot is still one of my favorites. I love their menu, and haven't found a sandwich quite like the Cougar anywhere else.

I ordered the Barracuda, and my wife got the General Lee. Both sandwiches were served on Dutch crunch rolls that were so hard, they were nearly inedible -- my wife couldn't even finish hers because the bread hurt her mouth. Mine left the roof of my mouth sore, but I pushed through since it wasn't exactly a cheap meal. The fillings didn't help either -- the meat tasted like it had been sitting for a while especially the roast beef, and the vegetables were wilted and lifeless. The macaroni salad tasted identical to the store-bought Reser's brand, with that unmistakable aftertaste, which was disappointing. Overall, nothing felt fresh. Everything had the vibe of being prepped a day or two ago and just left to sit. I truly wish we had just gone to the grocery store instead. Sadly, this place didn't live up to the memories, and I won't be returning. Lesson learned.
