Service and food were exceptional. Only suggestion is the menu could really use some healthy choices.

I went here for the first time based on a friend's recommendation since I was in the area. There is ample parking and this is a large bar that plays various bands outside in an igloo. The 14 oz prime rib special was tasty (but not the best I've ever had) and ample for two people. The baked potato was on the smaller side. They offer a $9 mai tai special on Saturdays which was really good. The bartenders were fairly attentive. A lot of customers dressed up in Halloween costumes which was great to see! Definitely a lively crowd and ambiance. I give this place 3.5 stars. read more

Cool sports bar theme with seating inside and out. Also has a stage outside for live performances. Came here for a late lunch but next time I think it better to come for a night out to have some drinks. Wasn't to impressed with the food. Little disappointed with the burger, seemed like frozen patties thrown with some Wisconsin cheese to give it all its flavor. My husband and I recently moved to the area and were craving wings, so we decided to try this spot since the reviews sounded promising. We tried the Nashville hot and garlic parmesan and we were so disappointed. They were way too salty and greasy. We also got the chicken tenders with veggies for my toddler and they were overcooked and dry, he wouldn't eat them and I don't blame him. The fries were stale, dry, overcooked and had zero taste/salt. The cheese curds were too salty and greasy. It's probably a good spot for drinks, but not for food. I was so excited to try this place since the food sounded and looked good, but it was such a disappointment. Definitely won't be having the leftovers tomorrow. read more

Ending mine and my wives favorite date night of touring as many restaurants in one night as possible , we stopped here for some live Music! The band was killer and very loud! ( side note: they were a heavy metal tribute band so they should be loud. Also, somehow they have sound-proofed the actual restaurant from the patio so inside you can NOT hear a thing for your dining pleasure!) After listening for a while we move to a quieter spot inside and ordered some food. They have all pretty standard fair like pizza and burgers. I recommend the Cheese Curds and the app plater! The waffle sundae was also great. I should mention that everything i have tasted here is very high quality and generously portioned. Keep an eye on the drink specials for some nice discounts! The music here is almost always the main attraction! They already confirmed my order that it will be served I came two hours before closing and got told that the kitchen already closed there was no server for 30 minutes until they told be that my food couldn't be served. They then offered me free pizza but it's not about the fucking money I was starving now I can't have shit and the pizza is so ass it literally tastes like booty cheeks.This place is bullshit and I will NEVER come again mark my words. My friends and I came here for a girls night after a movie. We had a reservation we were seated in the worst possible spot in the tent. The fan was directly blowing on my friend the whole time and her hair was going all over the place (super unenjoyable) and the other side of the table had heat blasting down on them. We asked for the ceiling fan to be turned on and it was broke. However they were not willing to move us and there was an open table large enough. Then our waitress came and asked us for drink orders we asked to start with waters she literally disappeared for 15 minutes and came back without waters!! Seriously!! I say to her " I thought we were starting with waters" oh yeah she says. Wow !! She looked high or drunk maybe both. Then a manager comes and tells us she was going home for emergency. We got someone new but the whole experience sucked we were told our first drinks would be comped but checks came and they were not! I won't go back food wasn't even all that. Never knew about this place until we were in the area. It was nice inside, and the service was pretty quick too. For drinks, I tried their french vanilla martini - sweet and delicious. My fiance had their vodka lemonade - tasted just like fresh lemonade with a twist. For appetizers, we tried the cheese curds and beer nuggets. The beer nuggets were okay, super buttery. But the cheese curds were so good! I would get them again. Much better than other place's cheese curds. I had their alaskan salmon. It was okay. Not my favorite but not bad either. We went last night with a party of 6. The outside area is awesome with a sit up bar, courtyard and fire pit all amazing things for a summer night. The service was attentive but not hovering and prices were not cheap but reasonable for what you got portion and taste wise. This place is great. During CoVid they set up a mini drive in theater with food service to your car while a movie played. They have some unique and delusions dishes. This is my fifth time to Old Republic and the last. The prices have gone up alot and one needs to pay for every upgrade. My brother got the 5 chicken finger appetizer. I got the chicken finger dinner. The only difference was my dinner was $6 more and all I got was a baked potato with butter and a small coleslaw I told the server I could not eat but she said there was no substitutions when I asked. I am not a fan of a restaurant that won't give choices in eating in this day and age and with the high cost of eating out I feel the customer needs to be catered to! We hardly saw the server. Please was clean, music loud and place crowded on a weekday afternoon. I will go to The Squire instead, which the same company owns and it is my favorite restaurant. read more

In fact, many would say my order was UPGRADED. (I ordered Buffalo Mac & Cheese bites *among other things) and received instead a full pound of Lt Dan's fried shrimp. While the shrimp was AMAZING, I'd been jonesing for those Mac Bites all week. One email, a few minutes later, resulted in an immediate call from the restaurant. Manager/SuperHero Chris offered to deliver right that moment, not just 1, but 2 orders of the coveted Buffalo Mac Bites. WHO DOES THAT?!?! Bravo OR... I am a disappointed first timer here. We came with another family and seated out in the tent. On a nothing special Wednesday night it took nearly ten minutes for a service person to stop at the table. Cocktails and beers were slow to arrive and when they did they were in plastic cups. The menu is overpriced bar food. Got a couple apps for the table and they were small. Our waiter ignored us like it was his job. The plates we got for dinner were not vey good, just sort of mediocre pub food. Between the second-rate fare and the bad service I doubt we will be back. read more

One of my favorite restaurants. The food is always good, every time we go. Whether we dine in or get it to go. The service is pretty good, even when busy. I personally don't like when servers check on you every 10 minutes, and I'm glad I have yet to have a server do that here. The place is family friendly, but also good if you don't have kids. They also had a spicy, meaty grilled cheese sandwich in winter 2021 that I literally still think about and I need them to bring it back and make it a permanent menu item. Gone several times but have avoided it for the last few years. Food is okay, that's not the issue. The place is just TOO LOUD!! You can't even hear the people at your own table. I've heard people complain about this for years but management doesn't care or they would do something about it. Even the servers agree. Last time I was there I left before even getting a table. Told the server to tell the manager that they are losing a customer because of the volume and she told that I wasn't the first to say that to her. She said that she had mentioned it to the manager in the past, but they still never do anything about it. Also, when they have live bands in the patio area, they cram so many people into that area that, you can't sit, can't move, you can't get a drink or any food. Went here on a saturday. Planned on going to the theatre nearby. Got seated quickly. Place was pretty packed though. Our server took awhile to come over. We got drinks and an appetizer to start. Got our drinks pretty quickly, but appetizer never came. Server never came back. Our main course finally came out about an hour later, from another server. Food was pretty cold (must have been sitting) and steak was not cooked to the correct temp (was supposed to be medium, but was well done). When server came finally came back, they didn't really offer anything for the inconvenience. Just took the app off our bill. Food would have been good, if it was hot. We were starving when it finally came, so we didn't feel like complaining. Did notice our server going outside though the take out door and smoking in-between customer rounds. Some pros and cons of Old Republic: The ambiance is fun. Totally a sports-bar vibe without the overwhelming noise and bustle. The bar isn't stingy, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Most of the food is done really nicely. The wings and the fish tacos (walleye, yum) were top notch. In the past I've had the chicken tenders and they were really good as well. The beer batter comes out perfectly. This visit I had a Fairfax pizza. Sausage, peppers, onion, mushrooms. Very standard and you can find this combination just about everywhere. First off, the crust was awesome. Thin and crispy, not soggy anywhere. The sauce and the peppers were nothing special, easy to miss. Mushrooms seemed to come from a can. The sausage was perfect though. Excellent combination of savory and spicy. If you're in the area and looking for this kind of pizza, head a little further south to Nick's and get the Nick's Special. Same pizza but tastes better. Don't let my experience of this pizza dissuade you though. Old Republic has some great food and drinks. I'll keep coming back. Oh, and the ladies "uniform" is a touch demeaning. A tight tee shirt and Daisy Duke shorts? A little mysoginistic. read more
