The shop is well laid-out, and it carries an extensive array of women's and men's clothing and accessories. Everything was trendy and cute, and best of all, the prices were quite reasonable. The sale items I saw weren't the usual odd-lot items, too; there were checked Vans slip-on sneakers on sale and other mainstream, recognizable items. In fact, my kid and I commented how we liked how there are many brand-name items as well as unique, lesser-known brands, and clothes we've not seen anywhere else. This would be the perfect place for a young professional woman to get her work and non-work wardrobe, as the clothes are on-point and the prices are right. I definitely would be able to find whatever I needed here.

The store is big enough to have a nice selection, but not so big that you feel overwhelmed. The aisles were all clean and everything was well organized. The store seemed dead since I went near closing time, but I hope they get more traffic. There are some very good finds to be had if you take a look around. This is a bit far from home for me but I'll be back when I'm in the area. They only lose a star for having some confusing pricing (I had to ask twice for clarification on what things cost). I'm sure this will be sorted out soon enough, as the store was brand new.

I am short so often enough pants/jeans from other brands don't really work for me unless I spend the extra $ to get them hemmed in - however, old navy is great with having the different lengths for jeans (short, regular, tall). Sucks that this location is no longer in the mall but also great it hasn't gone too far from it.

Then they got bought out by the YM Company that owns Stitches, Suzy Shier and Sirens. So now you can get the same two plain tshirts for $10 at Bluenotes that you could at any of those stores. Yay for options! The staff are pretty much run off their feet because the store is filled with peasants who get dressed in the dark and are looking for a bargain. You'll get helped by a disgruntled employee. who is constantly trying to play catch-up by filling the shelves with stock that just came in, since the shit is flying out the door, and half of it is probably not even paid for. The store is usually in disarray, so finding a size is next to impossible, not that the clothes they carry are worth sifting through, the two stars goes to the cheap price of pretty much everything in the store, because occasionally you will come across something worthy of your time and effort. I guess I am just sad to see the old Bluenotes go, which gave us good quality jeans that didn't stretch out after the first wear. Sometimes change is not so good.

However, after considerable research, including encountering, for example, exorbitant "cleaning fees" and other unfriendly contract terms at other stores, my search confirmed what I had really known all along: Dragon & Phoenix is a warm and friendly place full of warm and friendly people - people who want your side of the consignment relationship to be as rewarding as theirs. This store is a class act and a Kerrisdale gem.
