Super easy to find and plenty of parking. Nice 1960's style BBQ establishment with farm theme. The huge farm theme mural and roomy booths set the scene. BBQ buffet service is quick and easy. The BBQ flavor is really good for the brisket. The standard sides offer plenty of options.

After years of passing by old house BBQ, we finally decided to give it a try. The staff really stood out, every serve server, busser, and even the cooks were genuinely friendly, attentive and helpful. We went with the Sunday special: three pork meats (pulled pork, ham, ribs) two sides and a roll for $16.99. We split it between two people, and it was more than enough. The pulled pork and ham were the best, especially with the tangy, vinegar based barbecue sauce from the buffet line. (Better than what was at the condiment station. The ribs were just OK, nothing special, but still tasty. As for the sides, the cheesy potatoes are satisfying, and the Mac salad was fresh. Unfortunately, the soda fountain was down during our visit, but it didn't ruin the experience. The decor, especially outside, adds a lot of charm and with hearty portions and daily specials this is a great spot for a quick filling meal.

Decently bbq for Texas bbq. Conveniently pulled up on this location for lunch. Great prices and great service.

This place was very clean and organized. The most outstanding thing here was the food and the service, because we felt very welcomed. From California, this place was amazing. Thank you!

Sliced beef, cucumber salad, spicy pinto beans. Lots of condiments available

This place is old school bbq and I love it for that. It's a throw-back to a simpler time, with quality food you select on a serving line. Sercice was efficient and cordial. The food was all fresh even though it was later in the afternoon when I was there. All the sides looked great and there was a lot to choose from. I asked for fat wet brisket with some bark and that's what I got. Tender and flavorful. There is a nice condiment bar with several (3?) kinds of bbq sauce. One is spicy and it was my favorite. Serve yourself on the drinks as well and soft serve ice cream is available: I would go back in a heartbeat.

I got the Que Crew together earlier this month to check out another area BBQ spot. This time at Old House BBQ in Lewisville. The outer appearance is that of an old country restaurant where locals gather for "supper" or pick up dinner after a long day of work - and that's actually probably pretty close to accurate. The interior is clean, and larger than it appears on the outside. The popcorn ceiling and décor takes you back to the mid-70s and the food is served cafeteria-style. The meats can be ordered By the Pound, as a Sandwich, or as part of a 1, 2 or 3-Meat Dinner Plate. They also offer BBQ Baked Potatoes, Nachos, Quesadillas and Frito Pie. Being my first visit, I was compelled to go with the 3-Meat Plate, so I could sample as many items as possible. I selected Brisket, Jalapeno Sausage and Ribs. A great many sides are laid out across the warmer tables and coolers. Many looked good, but when I see the words "Cheesy Potatoes", it's settled! For my other side, I went traditional with the Smoked Beans. After paying for my dinner, and setting my tray down, I retrieved my self-serve soda and gathered fresh toppings, such as onions, jalapenos and pickles. As the meat goes, the Brisket was a bit dry. If you like lean Brisket and sauce, this is probably for you. I just prefer a little marbelization and bark on my Brisket. The Sausage was standard. Not bad, but nothing special. The ribs were, by far, my favorite of the meats I tried. Very tender, came off the bone clean and there was a smokiness that was really tasty. The Cheesy Potatoes didn't live up to expectation. Good, but I had hoped for more. The flavor of the cheese was too similar to Velveeta for my liking and the Smoked Beans were quite good. I don't want to come off as overly critical. I would return, as there is a lot of good things about this food. The competition in this area for BBQ is so strong, that I have to give things a critical eye for the really special places to stand out. I would definitely get the Ribs and the Smoked Beans and I'm anxious to try some of the others on my next visit.

This is just half of my #12 - BBQ Baked Potato (Loaded)

This is the best bbq that I had in a long time. The brisket is always moist and the ribs are fall of the bone. The sides are fantastic!! Especially the loaded mashed potatoes, cheesy potatoes Baked potato is huge

Bland tasteless brisket. Service was good and the place had charm so the 2 stars. They do best tender smokehouse but that's not saying much.

This night they had an espresso old fashioned which I have to admit was pretty good though wasn't sure when I ordered. Also have a chicken pot pie. The pie came out in a bowl and rather than a crusty bottom it came with a puff pastry atop. It worked though had uneven flavor throughout and slightly dry chicken. My wife thought it was perfect....LOL... to each their own. They do have a porch so perhaps in the spring weather time it will be a nice spot to get comfy with a drink. It is more a sports-themed bar with several large televisions and a large big screen in the center. Have Kenson make you an oatmeal cookie and you'll be pleasantly surprised. From the horse's mouth we were told the tacos probably weren't the best to try and so I'd stay away from those. Also tried the fish and chips and the fry was very much like a chicken fried steak than traditional FNC, though the flavor wasn't bad. Not sure I loved this style but the fries were great. People of all types came in and out the 3 or 4 hours we were there. Invited some friends to come out and join us and it was a good time so I'd recommend this place for groups. Didn't feel overcrowded here like at other places around town and I do prefer some elbow room.

So I had never been to this place and stopped by for a beer and a bite…read more There were not a lot of cars in the parking lot. Outside looked nice and clean. Walked in, and the location was very nice and inviting. You could tell that it caters to regulars. There were a lot of them sitting at the bar, and most of the dining tables were empty, walked up to a tabletop, and was greeted byba female server immediately. Cudos on the prompt service. I asked her what was good, and she said everything was good, but the wings were phenomenal. Wanted something that I hadn't had. She said the nachos were pretty good, and I ordered chicken nachos. Me thinking it was like standard nachos. You know the chips with cheese and toppings ok them. Nope, that was def not it.. So it took a few minutes for the nachos to come out, and the bartender, I think, brought the dish out. And on first glance kinda disappointed. I forgot to take pictures also! Smh, sorry! Anyway, they brought me a dish that had about 6 mini tostadas with cheese, beans, and about 3 mayb 4 chicken mini pieces on it! Man, I wish I had remembered to take a photo. I would have given it more justice so you could get the full effect. The flavor was decent, but they barely put any sour cream, no Pico, and a little bit of lettuce. The sour cream wasn't even enough to use on all the 6 tostadas smh. I did see someone else order the wings and instantly regretted the nachos damn they looked good. Finished off my nachos and paid the tab. Now to rate. -Location 6 outa 10 very clean and nice also has a nice patio Service 6 outa 10 server was friendly and helpful -Nachos 2 outa 10 nothing special about them -Beer 4 outa 10 mug was nice and cold it's beer unless it's skunked you can't mess it up‍ Probability of me coming back 50/50. Might come back for the wings. Also worth noting that the server said they are rolling out a new menu in a few weeks or maybe days, and it might be why my experience was so so with the food. I did snag a couple of pics from another reviewer so that you can kinda see what I was dealing with but substitute the ground beef or whatever that is for 3 or 4 little chicken chunks. And calling the chicken chunks is giving a lot more like a chip off a chunk..

Fortunately, the daily feature menu provided drink suggestions. When decision making had reached its weekly limit, the Kobe & Crab Smash Burger was ideal. Rather than choose between meat or seafood, the burger is surf & turf between two buns. Fries or onion rings? How about fried onions as a topping and beer-battered fries as a side? While the hatch chili aioli lacked the heat to compensate for the smorgasbord of toppings, it complemented the crab cake.
