My tattoo was two years in the making, so I had to be sure I was getting my first one from someone…read morereputable, trustworthy and talented! I found that person through one of my friends and his wife, who have both been going to this shop repeatedly. From the first time my son and I walked into Olde Tyme Tattoo, Jon Kelly was extremely friendly and accommodating. Of course I was really nervous, but he was very professional and made me feel at ease. I asked him about the pain and he said it was tolerable, which was 110% true! Jon drew out my tattoo and at first I felt it was too large for my arm. He drew it to the smallest size possible, which came out perfectly! This was also a special occasion because my son and I got our tattoos together. I went first and my tattoo took about 50 minutes. My son's took only 20 minutes. I couldn't have been happier with the way it turned out and my son shares the same sentiments. Don't go anywhere else! Jon is an amazing tattoo artist! He guaranteed his work and touch ups are free! This shop is very casual and laid back, yet extremely professional.

I'm giving two stars because truly one of the tattoos I got here was absoloutely amazing, and…read moreeverything I could of dreamed of. But it went south from there. I did need to cancel my original appointment early the morning a day prior due to being ill with GG, and I was informed I would need to place another deposit. I agreed and specifically asked whether that additional deposit would apply toward the tattoo, and I was told that it would. When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment, I was told it did not apply and that this had been communicated via text. After reviewing the messages, I did not see that clarification reflected. I did not argue because I respected her and complied. I also want to note that I was not made aware of any written shop policy regarding deposits in this situation. Based on the wording of the conversation, it came across that the additional deposit was for accountability due to the late cancellation, rather than that the original deposit would no longer count toward the tattoo. It's also worth mentioning that policy isn't anywhere nor was communicated to me. During the session, the artist stopped partway through because she wasn't feeling well, which I completely understand and respect. However, once the tattoo healed (it has now been over a month), I noticed visible shakiness in the linework, inconsistent line weight, and areas of blowout that were not apparent initially. I want to be clear that I genuinely love the tattoo concept itself, my concern is specifically with the execution. I paid a significant amount for the piece, and while I am not seeking a refund, as nice as that'd be, I was disappointed by the technical quality of the finished linework. Especially receiving a tattoo from this artist before and it being absoloutely amazing. So trust was broken there as well. As it healed I didn't really notice at first how poorly done it was. So later, when I reached out to book my next tattoo, I did not receive a response and noticed I was blocked from viewing the artist's stories, which made the lack of communication feel exclusionary and unprofessional. My intention in this review isn't to place blame, but to ask for acknowledgment. I value transparency, especially with permanent work. I paid quite a bit for very very poorly done healed work. It ended up being over $250+.

I'm 55 years old, and last week I sat down in a tattoo chair for the first time in my life…read more I flew from North Carolina to do it. That should tell you something. I'm not the guy you picture when you think "tattoo shop customer." I know it. The staff at Alma knew it too, and it did not matter one bit. From the moment I walked in, they treated me like I belonged there. The shop is gorgeous, the vibe is easy, and the two hours I spent in the chair flew by. We talked, we watched soccer on the big screen, and somewhere in the middle of all that, I stopped being nervous. Noemi is my artist. I say "is" and not "was" because I'm already planning tattoos two and three with her. She captured exactly what I was looking for on the first try. No revisions, no back and forth. She also walked me through the aftercare like a pro and put every one of my first-timer fears to rest. If a 55-year-old first-timer can walk out of Alma Tattoo feeling this good, imagine what they can do for you. I'll be back. That's not a maybe.

Let me set the scene: I am a 41-year-old stepmom of SEVEN (yes, seven, I did not stutter), and I…read morewalked in for a nostril re-piercing after my last brilliant idea -- shoving a larger hoop in there to lovingly irritate my very opinionated, cable-news-marathon-watching parents -- went... not great. So here I am. Older. Wiser. Slightly humbled. But still committed to my personal brand of "respectfully chaotic." Enter YOU. From the jump, you had the exact energy I needed: calm, unbothered, and clearly not fazed by women like me making questionable-but-symbolic jewelry decisions in midlife. You assessed the situation like a true professional -- no judgment, just a quiet understanding that sometimes we do things for the plot. You explained everything so clearly that even my brain -- which is usually juggling school schedules, grocery lists, and at least three minor household crises -- managed to fully absorb it. Honestly, that alone deserves five stars. And then... it was over. IMMEDIATELY. I have spent more time negotiating bedtime with children who are not even biologically mine than it took you to re-pierce my nose. Also, your vibe? Immaculate. Now I catch my reflection and think, "Ah yes. There she is. A woman who has survivedg blending a family of seven AND still makes mildly defiant jewelry choices." 10/10. Efficient, kind, and deeply supportive of my ongoing journey to be both responsible and just a little bit petty. If I'm back, it's either for another piercing... or because I tried something again at home. Either way, you'll understand. Thank you for restoring both my nose and my sense of chaotic balance.
