Let me set the scene: I am a 41-year-old stepmom of SEVEN (yes, seven, I did not stutter), and I walked in for a nostril re-piercing after my last brilliant idea -- shoving a larger hoop in there to lovingly irritate my very opinionated, cable-news-marathon-watching parents -- went... not great. So here I am. Older. Wiser. Slightly humbled. But still committed to my personal brand of "respectfully chaotic." Enter YOU. From the jump, you had the exact energy I needed: calm, unbothered, and clearly not fazed by women like me making questionable-but-symbolic jewelry decisions in midlife. You assessed the situation like a true professional -- no judgment, just a quiet understanding that sometimes we do things for the plot. You explained everything so clearly that even my brain -- which is usually juggling school schedules, grocery lists, and at least three minor household crises -- managed to fully absorb it. Honestly, that alone deserves five stars. And then... it was over. IMMEDIATELY. I have spent more time negotiating bedtime with children who are not even biologically mine than it took you to re-pierce my nose. Also, your vibe? Immaculate. Now I catch my reflection and think, "Ah yes. There she is. A woman who has survivedg blending a family of seven AND still makes mildly defiant jewelry choices." 10/10. Efficient, kind, and deeply supportive of my ongoing journey to be both responsible and just a little bit petty. If I'm back, it's either for another piercing... or because I tried something again at home. Either way, you'll understand. Thank you for restoring both my nose and my sense of chaotic balance. read more

Called for a last minute walk-in for me and a friend one Saturday afternoon. Frankie.LA, who was actually guest spotting at the shop did my spontaneous rose piece. I actually had no idea what I wanted but he recommended a rose and drew something up for me -- totally exceeded my expectations with the shading and line work. Jake did my friend's tattoo and that came out really nice as well. Professional shop with great artists! read more

This review is specifically for Christina Harris. Other than my brother-in-law, she is the only other tattoo artist that I trust to put ink on my body. I haven't been to her for a while so this review is very much long overdue. Before her, I have gotten my tattoos done by male artists. I would only get small pieces done so I would only have to pay minimum. The first time I got a bigger piece, I went to a spot in Brea. This piece didn't require a lot, if at all, of shading or detailing. It was a silhouette of a tree. I felt that I was overcharged. I was also very naive too so maybe they thought that they could get more money out of me. I definitely didn't think that the finished product was worth the price. It looked like he took a stencil of a tree and sharpied inside of it. After that experience I didn't get a tattoo for a really long time. Long story short, a girl came into my workplace with a tattoo that I liked and asked who her artist was and she gave me Christina's card. After about a year, I was ready for my next tattoo. I had called the place on the card and they said she no longer worked there. I looked her name up on Yelp and her name came up at Autumn Moon and I've been her client ever since. She's done several of my tattoos and even fixed my tree to make it less shitty. Now I'm actually proud of it. She is fucking rad. She really gets my aesthetic and she's a fantastic artist. She really listens to what you want. She takes her time and has a soft hand. She's very genuine and she loves animals. Her paintings are awesome too. I will for sure be coming back to her whenever I am ready for another tattoo. Check her out @tinatattoo on Instagram! read more

Did a walk in a few weeks ago and Chris M was awesome. My design request was very simple but needed to be in the same spot on both wrists. He was patient as we had to readjust the stencil multiple times to get them perfectly even. They turned out exactly as I had imagined and I'm sure I'll be returning for more tiny tats in the future. read more

Great service, amazing work! Chris was very kind and knowledgeable! I love the art I received and look forward to getting more!!

I had gotten my tattoo Friday the thirteenth, the wait wasn't long due to the other shops nearby at a high rise in demand of discounted tattoos for the day, this area did not have as many options as the other but if you were willing to show up & present a piece they'd give you a reasonable price. The staff is friendly & attentive to you while you wait if anything but I really enjoyed my experience here. Haven't came on a regular day but once I do I'll give an update. Thumbs up! read more

As soon as I walked in the owner Chris had an attitude. He was arrogant, smug, and he even rolled his eyes at me. After a few minutes of talking to him I walked out because I don't want a man like that tattooing my body. read more

I had such a great experience here. The shop had already come recommended to me, but it was such a wonderful experience I'd recommend to anyone. Tina is the best! Loved her great positive attitude and how fast she did these two pieces!

I've been sitting on my first tattoo idea for a while and finally decided to get it today. I'd gone in to get a quote a couple weeks ago and since they'd been so helpful I went back there after first going to Illuminati Tattoo and being treated poorly at the door. I got a fair price (shop minimum of $80) and the artists in shop were very professional and friendly. The whole experience was only about 20min, from the moment I stepped in until leaving. The piece I got from Mikey Tay is clean and exactly what I wanted. They answered all my questions about after care. My fiancée was with me and after how well everything went she's thinking about getting her first there, too. I'd definitely recommend it. read more

Came here on a referral by a friend who had Christina tattoo him. It was a blended bear with pine trees and I knew I wanted something like a snow mountain with pine trees and a snowboard theme. We started off with a consult to give her ideas of what I wanted and I gave her a few pictures which she liked. I wanted something that was a collaboration but really the artist's own "original" so that it would be unique. This was my first tattoo and I wanted it to go perfectly (I spent years contemplating and months deciding on the design ideas). Christina has an enthusiasm that instilled confidence that I picked someone who wasn't just going to "mail in" what would be a permanent part of my body. We spent a little time back and forth on emails and when I came in for my scheduled appointment she had something prepared for me... Which I loved. When she put the stencil on, I felt like I had to rely on her and was happy with the location. She then decided to move it up higher on my bicep and when she did, I agreed that it was much better. This seems like a small thing, but it let me know this was an artist who took pride in each tattoo and strove to make it the best possible. The shop is clean and they have a family atmosphere between the artists and assistants. It's a clean operation (I watched the sanitation procedures) which made me feel good. Christina has a great personality and is a very talented artist. The other people and the banter made the time go by fast. I was fortunate that the painful bicep area wasn't really painful. I attribute at least half of that to Christina's "touch." As I watched two other artists (one was in his last week) I felt like this was a parlor with very talented artists which I could recommend to anyone who could pick their artist based on the preferred style. I'll be posting the photo once it heals (it's already on my Instagram). The detail in the snowboard bindings continues to make me smile). I've had many compliments (except for those friends who made fun of me for getting a tattoo at all). Best experience for a newcomer....unless you're a sorority girl who doesn't know what she wants. ;-) #insidejoke #had-to-be-there read more

When making any decision, I tend to go with how I feel about something. A few months back, I began searching for the right tattoo shop to get my first tattoo. I based this decision off the artists' work AND how comfortable and welcomed I felt when I first walked through the doors. I then decided that Tip Top was the place to go. Fast forward a few months later, to this weekend, and I finally set up an appointment and was tattooed by Mikey. His confidence in his work helped me feel more at ease with getting my first tattoo. His artwork is amazing and his attention to detail was more than I expected. I am so in love with what he created! I will be back for more :) Thank you so much, Mikey, for my first, and very beautiful, tattoo! read more

Let me just cut to the chase. Go here. Get tattooed by Mikey or Kirk (both tattooers I've gone to many many times) or Dre (who's work speaks for itself). These guys know American Traditional tattooing like the back of their hand and are guaranteed to give you a tattoo that you'll be stoked on and be able to wear proudly. read more
