In April I got married and so I went looking for a place to stay for a mini honeymoon. The hubs and I were looking for a short and small getaway close to home (we'll be taking a longer honeymoon in August). I bought a deal for this place from Living Social. We had never gonna wine tasting before so this was our first time! This place had good reviews and the pictures of this place looked too cute. We drove all the way here from Davis. The trip was a little longer than what we expected. And all I can say is most GPS's don't know how to get you here and google maps isn't very smart. So follow the directions in the e-mail that they send you!! This place is owned by Marcia and Tony. I worked with Tony over the phone for my reservations. He wasn't the quickest with technology and taking down my information so you should have patience or make reservations online - FYI I made mine over the phone because of the Living Social deal. When we got there to check-in, we found Tony was away and Marcia was left to handle things on her own. She's a very sweet lady. She's also the one that makes all the food! Amazing cook!! The rooms are very cozy. The hubs was impressed the high-tech door lock that used a number pad. I liked that the room was like a mini 1 bedroom cottage. It had a very romantic feel to it, which was perfect. We made sure to take advantage of the fireplace and the whirlpool tub. But I think my favorite part was the bed! Very soft sheets and you just melt away into sleep. The only issue we had with the room were the bugs. Now don't let that scare you. It's just that my hubby extremely dislikes bugs. We found 2 baby spiders, 1 yellow jacket, 3 mosquitos. I think bugs are bound to get in and they weren't much of a problem for me to handle. Now the food! Yes it is also a B&B afterall. First day: we were served 4 muffins with pecans on top and honey and butter on the side. YUM!! Next was a slice of baked pineapple with toasted coconut shavings - never had this combo before and it was good. The main course was poached eggs with polenta. I was a bit skeptical, but it was good too! There was juice as well. Hubs and I opted for the pomegranate juice. Second day: margaritas with no alcohol, but still tasty! There was also homemade granola and I'm a fan of granola. The main course was BELGIAN WAFFLES! They were loaded with fruit and some bacon on the side. YUM YUM YUM! I'm a huge fan of the food here. Marcia is great! FYI, she also makes a cake every night that you can go into the main lodge and get some. The first night there was an apple cake that was just soooo good. She even gave me the recipe for it. Note: when you check-in, they ask about food allergies etc. Hubs is lactose intolerant so Marcia made sure to not put any cheese in the polenta or yogurt in the margarita. read more

My fiancé and I came back for our second trip this past weekend. It was great like before. We stayed at the Hopkins room. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were clean and quaint. There were candy in bowl on the dresser. Two luggage racks available for our use. There's a backdoor that leads to the patio. There's plenty of parking for guests. Good number of rooms. It wasn't overcrowded. There's also a wide selection of DVDs that guests could borrow. There were two wine glasses await on the dresser. If you want to read more, please read my previous review. Love love LOVE this place! Once you get here, you can't help but relax. The grounds are beautiful. It's a little ways up the road so it's very quiet and peaceful. We stayed 2 nights and I'm so glad we did, it was a great "re set" button from the stresses of our every day life. When we arrived we were greated by Tony who poured us a glass of wine and showed us around. The lobby area is decorated by beautiful nick nacks from all around the world. Here is a rundown: -Every morning you are served a delicious, full course breakfast (kept us full til later in the afternoon) -There is coffee and tea available at all times and freshly baked goods. -They have a movie collection available and you are free to borrow at any time. -Free wifi -There's a pool (which we didn't use as we came in the winter) -Ice available as well as waters and a microwave if you need to heat up any leftovers, etc. -Cards, dominoes and other games available in the lobby area -Wrap around deck with beautiful views of Alexander Valley -In room massage available upon appt We stayed in the Stanford room. Clean, cozy, and extremely comfortable bed! Each room (and the inn itself) is named after a historical Bay Area figure and you can read all about it in the room you stay in or there is a book in the lobby. If I remember correct, Crocker himself actually owned the property, he was one of the "Big Four" and also owned the property which now holds Grace Cathedral in SF. I read some other reviewers saying it is a ways away from everything. It took us about 10 minutes to get to Geyserville and hit up the Dry Creek Road Wineries which is not bad at all. If we were closer to town, we would not get the beautiful views and peace and quiet this place has to offer. Thank you Tony and Marcia for your warm hospitality and generosity. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Old Crocker Inn! My husband and I spent our 2nd anniversary here, and we lucked out because no one else was with us! The grounds were well maintained, the room was very cozy, and the peaceful nights were very restful We stayed during mid-week in the winter, so that helped, but it was paradise! Tony was an amazing owner. He had so many recommendations on where to go wine tasting, dinner, and driving routes. Not only that, but he is an amazing chef and a genially nice person!!! I highly recommend staying here if you want somewhere tranquil, beyond beautiful, and restful. I will definitely make this a tradition of going back whenever we can :) read more

I really wanted to like these guys. Especially with their flawless Yelp reviews. But the behaviour and treatment towards us by the owner Tony this past weekend was unacceptable, and I think should be made public knowledge. First let's talk positives: * Cute rustic location. * Small details - bowl of chocolates in the room, wine anytime, cheese and snacks laid out for the guests, water (both still and sparkling) anytime * Multi-course breakfast (muffins, sausage and eggs; baked pear) * For the most part, extremely friendly staff (outside of the owner, Tony) Negatives: The owner Tony has the unfortunate distinction of being the rudest host I've ever encountered - and I used to travel a lot given I run a travel web site! We arrived around 7:00pm on a Friday night after purchasing the weekend Living Social voucher. Tony asked if we had any food allergies and my friend tells him no goat cheese and eggplants. She completely forgets to mention that most of the group cannot eat pork, and since he didn't ask about religious restrictions, the subject doesn't come up. First incident - since both rooms had king sized beds, we needed extra beds. He tells us somewhat gruffly he doesn't have extra beds, but can put air mattresses in the rooms. He hands me a sack containing an air mattress to inflate myself, and when I come back to ask for blankets, he tells me "can you just wait?" Sure I can, but what if I wanted to take a nap right then? An "absolutely, let me finish what I'm doing and someone will get to you in about 3 hours" would have been better. It caught me slightly off guard but I brushed it off. The next day we wake up for our 9:30am breakfast time and are seated in the dining area. My friends own a service dog (with paperwork) and so they brought him into the dining room. He's a quiet dog, but quite active, so he was moving around a bit, but staying right by the table. There, we learn that the breakfast being served is pork sausage and my group asks if they can have a non-pork version. No issue is made at this point; we just sit, chat, eat our muffins and wait. At one point, a lady comes out apologizing for our wait - telling us they weren't expecting to remake our breakfast. We apologize for not telling her up front, and continue to chat. We didn't make any deal out of it. The next thing I know, Tony comes up to our group and starts yelling. "Get that dog out." My group starts to explain that the dog is a service dog. "I don't care. Get out." "Sir, legally you're required to allow service dogs." "Not in my place. This is a private residence. You get out." "Sir, sure we will take him, out, but by law he's allowed here." "Get out!!" Then Tony really starts to get at us. He tells us that we were extremely rude guests for arriving late the night before, for not telling him about the pork when he asked us what food allergies we had, for wasting his staff's time, and for having the dog. He told us he's been really upset with us since we arrived. Tony did this in the dining room in front of all other visiting guests at a voice level clearly audible across the whole room. Entirely awkward. Our group was flabbergasted. An otherwise nice morning was ruined. My friends got up and took their dog to the room, after which we went to the front desk to talk further. Again, my friends explain legally that they are allowed to have this dog, and again Tony reiterates it's his property, his rules. This continues for some time until Tony admits he got upset, and then tells us he's calmed down, is over being mad and that we should too. We learn that Tony just lost his dog recently, so I can understand why he was upset, but that's no way to treat guests. You don't yell at them in front of other guests, and then tell your guests you're over it and that they should just move on and enjoy the weekend. We can't flip a switch that easily especially when the attack came out of the blue. How are we supposed to feel comfortable staying there anymore? What ifs can go on for ever, but I think the whole incident would have gone much more smoothly if Tony had come up to our group, asked to speak with us privately, and then mentioned, for instance "would you mind keeping your dog in his crate or in the room? He might disturb the other guests." I'm sure my friends would have gladly obliged that request. Or if he said "I just lost my dog, I'm a bit upset right now and it's tough to see your dog. Would you mind taking him to the room." Sure we could have handled things better on our side with more upfront communication, but we didn't deserve what we got. A "GET OUT" to paying guests in front of other guests is a completely unacceptable tone to take. He asked us to get out, so we did. And I won't be coming back. read more

I found Old Crocker Inn through Living Social. If I can give MINUS 1000 Stars here I could definitely give. I and my friends were so excited to stay in this place but it became a huge disappointment for us. Here is why: First of all, Tony is the rudest owner ever that I have ever met in my life.I cannot say the same thing for his wife, she is a great lady and I know how sad she got before we left. Here is some examples of how he treats out during check-in: Me: Can we get an extra air mattress? Which room would be better to fit the mattress in? T: I can give you an air mattress, I don't care which room you are staying. Not my problem. Me: Ok (Awkwardly) We experienced the rudest check in in our lives but didn't really made a big deal out of it. He asked me if we have any ALLERGIES to any food. Not that ''Food that we dont eat'', he asked about ALLERGIES. And I told him eggplant and goat cheese/milk or meat. Anything related to goat. During checkin I mentioned and showed that we have a SERVICE DOG with the documentation and he was fine with it. Even played with my dog. Next morning we went to breakfast room with our SERVICE DOG. And the staff was playing with service dog and he is very well behaved and well trained and he was just sitting or looking at us or walking a little. HE WAS TIED TO THE TABLE and CANNOT RUN AROUND. During the breakfast we were talking how cute place it is and how we did good coming there EVEN AFTER THE RUDEST CHECK IN and then staff came and asked us if we eat pork. Well religiously we dont eat pork but WE ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO PORK. So she said oh ok we can make vegi food, no problem. And we even didnt care if there is another food or not, we were happy with our muffins and we are very easy going people, we stayed in many places and we are probably the best customers they would ever have. After some time Tony, came to us and I even said ' Hello, good morning!'' and Tony started to yell at us. Here is the conversation: Tony: Get that dog out! My fiance:Sir, he is a service dog. Tony: I don't care. Get out. My fiance: Sir, legally you're required to allow service dogs. Tony: Not in my place. This is a private residence. You get out. My fiance: Sir, sure we will take him, out, but by law he's allowed here. Tony: Get out! I dont care if you go eat your breakfast somewhere else! OUT! Then he said how DISRESPECTFUL we are cause WE DIDNT EAT PORK. Are you kidding me Tony? Seriously? He said 'I asked you guys do you have any allergy? You didnt say anything''. then I said 'I told you that I am ALLERGIC to eggplant and goat milk/cheese/meat.'' WE ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO PORK. Being allergic to something is different than not eating something! Then after he embarrassed us in the room we left our breakfast without finishing. and talked to him at the reception. He was saying he doesnt care about the law even he was a service dog etc. And kept blaming us for not eating pork. So in order to get treated nicely, should we throw away our religious beliefs? REALLY? When we told him the service dog law, and how badly he treated us, he is like 'I am calm now, you should get over it too. I am sad this morning for many reasons I apologize I shouldnt have done that'. WELL APOLOGY IS NOT ACCEPTED!!! We are humans, we can have many problems. But you HAVE TO BE NICE to your guests. We are not disrespectful, if you can come to us nicely, even you are required to allow us, we could still keep our SERVICE DOG in the room. Right after this incident, without even completing our vacation we packed up and left the place. You said 'GET OUT' to us Tony. There you go, we are OUT and NEVER WILL BE IN! read more

Just completed a wonderful stay at the Old Crocker Inn, for my sixth time, at least. My wife and I absolutely love this place. Hosts Tony and Marcia run a tight ship with amazing food and service. The property is super clean, quaint, and a home away from home. The owners were so helpful in guiding us to some great wineries in the area and other things to do. Rooms at the inn are wonderful. Spacious, clean, and everything I would expect from a proper B&B. Sheets are AMAZING! I have read some of the negative reviews and there are three that are obviously from the same party. All I can say is that there are two sides to every story and we found nothing but professionalism from both Tony and Marcia. Secondly, if someone asks you "if you have any food allergies", it seems to me whether you are allergic to pork or not, if you don't eat it due to religious reasons that this would be the time to mention it. I mean, really, are the hosts expected to run through your life history to find out your dietary restrictions? Reviews on both Yelp and Teipadvisor are stellar for this property and we found it lives up to the best B&Bs, and we have been to many....over 73 properties in the last three years. read more

What a great B&B. The wife and I stayed in the Central Pacific room for labor day weekend and had a blast. Though she was initially skeptical as we drove down the dirt road, we were both thrilled when we walked around the facilities. The "room" is really more of a private cottage, so that probably helped. :) Breakfast was delicious and a great way to start each day. The pool was pleasant and the stars were shining like crazy (though drunkie was passed out at that point and I had to view them solo). Healdsburg was a short 20min away and great vineyards were plenty accessible. I will definitely come back here. read more

I spent two glorious nights at the Crocker ranch last weekend and I didn't want it to end! This is an inn and not your typical B&B - the rooms have private entrances and are either attached to the main lodge or are separate, stand alone cottages. My husband and I stayed at Jupiter Cottage, which was warmed by a gas fireplace and had the softest sheets and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. We came with my parents who stayed at Canton, a spacious cottage with a porch, indoor sitting area and jacuzzi bathtub. The accomodations were perfect! Breakfast, a three course affair, is out of this world. If you're lucky, yours will include Marcia's homemade zucchini muffins and cranberry bread, and Tony's tasty quiche & sausages. The main lodge is open throughout the day where you will find more homemade goodies along with an enormous selection of teas (and books, and DVD's if you can tear yourself away from the delicious treats and delightful innkeepers). If what you are looking for is a weekend (or longer!) getaway in a remote setting where you can leave the city behind, take long walks and visit family owned wineries nearby, this is your home away from home. read more

It's like going to your aunts house for a weekend (the good aunt) My husband and I arrived late because it was thanksgiving weekend. By the time we got there it was so dark, we were starved from being in traffic all day. We wanted to drive back into town to grab dinner, but the owners daughter and her friends insisted to feed us. They had been there for a few days for thanksgiving. They offered us dinner and wine just like we were simply guests at their house. Super nice people. Holy crap on a cracker we loved this place. The drive up the hill to the inn was beautiful and as we approached the property we saw 3 deer. When we checked in we found out that we had been upgraded to a nicer room. Yay. The rooms look cabin like on the outside but are very comfortable on the inside. Our suite had a living room area with a fireplace and couch with pullout bed. There was also a bedroom with a super soft king bed. The bathroom was nice and spacious with a jet bathtub. We had a front porch with chairs, a side porch with table and chairs, and a hammock in the back. This was the Central Pacific Suite and I would highly recommend it. The owners were nice and friendly. The common room is big and adorable. They have movies for you to borrow and when we arrived in the evening we took advantage of their fresh baked cookies and tea. At check-in you choose your breakfast time (8:30, 9, 9:30). The breakfast was fab! Breakfast is served in the common/dining room area and there are plenty of tables that seat 4. We were offered coffee and juice and then brought out a tasty smoothie in a margarita glass. Then a delicious breakfast of banana pancakes and bacon was served. We only stayed one night but wish we would have stayed more. Our stay was part of a girls' trip but this inn would also be lovely for a couples or family stay. Highly recommended. read more

I'm way late on this review. We stayed here December 2014 in Golden Spike. When we arrived there was an issue finding our room reservation in the new system because they switched reservation systems in the time between booking and our stay. We booked about 6 months in advance. Tony handled the situation really well and we got the room we wanted even with the glitch. The inn is off the beaten path but that's what makes it so special. It's a little hard to find but the drive and falling asleep to croaking frogs is wonderful. There were plenty of places to walk around with our dogs. Our room was so comfortable and romantic. They have so many special touches like the glass water bottles and fresh flowers in your room. Breakfast was delicious and better than any other bed and breakfast I've had because it felt as if they made it just for you (my meal was also gluten free). Books and movies are available in the lobby to borrow. The inn saved our weekend getaway. We had just found out I was pregnant so going wine tasting was out and we had the one big storm of the winter roll through. I'm pretty sure that was the only rain we got that winter. After walking around nearby Geyserville and dinner at the (gluten free) pizza place they recommended to us, we played the games available in the dining/lounge area, drank tea, and enjoyed the homemade snacks then watched a movie in our room. Listening and watching for bullfrogs, lizards, deer, wild turkey, fruit bats and all sorts of birds 6. Gracious hosts My (new) husband and I just got back from having spent two nights in the Canton Cottage - the inn's only stand-alone suite. Gorgeous. Thoughtfully appointed. Clean. We had our own parking space (somehow I thought this was really cool even when the main house and parking lot is a stone's throw away). You key in by code, so if you are one to lose keys every 10 minutes, you are in heaven. The lighting is low and warm (with the option to brighten it up, but why?). The furniture is interesting and rich. Glasses galore: wine, champagne and water. Bits of chocolate and a bottle champagne in the mini fridge made us melt. The grounds and main building are well stocked with hang out spots to read, enjoy the view or a glass of wine. From the wild flowers to the potted plants to the surrounding vegetation to the views from the back corner porch - your eyes will be very happy. Your ears will also be happy what with the quiet that comes from being pretty far away from everything: crickets, bullfrogs, little lizards scurrying around, deer coming through the brush, the bubbling of the pond out front. This is a welcome environment after spending a day visiting sometimes busy wineries. The breakfast is, at once, inventive and old-school. As a first course to a big Sunday breakfast we were served warm, fresh zucchini muffins. Holy Moly. After we had a wonderful quiche and chicken sausage, we were served with a chilled blueberry soup. Whoa. Later in the day an apple cake was put out in the dining hall. Somebody help me. The next morning we had a peach margarita (a smoothie, really, but served in a sugared margarita glass) before our waffle with strawberries and blueberries and bacon. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a nose-up Napa type of place. But if you are looking for lush, serene surroundings and good food - this place is it. My only regrets are that we stayed two, not three, nights and that we did not have time to loll about the pool. But these are reasons to visit again and do it right! read more

I really liked this place a lot! And I wasn't sure I would since it was described as a rustic lodge ... And while it IS a rustic lodge it is also very charming and clean. First, MAKE SURE YOU TAKE RIVER ROAD TO ASTI RIDGE ROAD TO CROCKER INN ROAD ( this will save you a lot of driving ) !!! Second, be aware the wrap around deck is for the use of all guests whether their room is facing the view or not. Third, the deck overlooks a neighborhood street. I didn't find it a problem - but it is best that you are not shocked by having cars drive by. Fourth, I suggest eating dinner BEFORE checking in or bring something with you. You are probably not going to want to drive all the way back to town. I stayed in the Crocker room. After being checked in and shown our room We spent most of our time on the deck drinking our wine and eating our dinner we brought with us. The room was clean and big. The linens and towels were of good quality. The fireplace was great and kept the room quite warm! The bathroom was a good size - the water nice and hot! The inn was almost full that night, but we had no problem with noise. The pool is wonderful! Clean and sparkling AND a short way away from the lodge and cabins keeping the pool noise at a minimum! Breakfast was delicious and I TRUELY appreciated coffee being available VERY early! I would go back. I think this place would be an excellent place to have a big gathering where everyone can be together but have space! And the pool would be amazing on those very hot summer days!! Old Crocker Inn is a highly recommended dog-friendly bed and breakfast in Alexander Valley. Loved the location. The inn is tucked in the hills of Cloverdale within 30 minutes to the vineyards in Healdsburg and Geyserville. Very quiet and secluded. And very beautiful. Perfect location if you wish to spend a weekend in wine country. Alexander valley is an excellent alternative to the busier and touristier Sonoma and Napa Valley. Loved the breakfast. The blueberry and apple-cinnamon-walnut scones were AMAZING. The artichoke-sundried-tomato quiche with chicken apple sausage was very TASTY. And they have a wide selection of tea and beverages that are complimentary all throughout the day. The chocolate chip bundt cake they had the evening we stayed was EXCELLENT. Loved the hospitality. Marcia and Tony were AMAZING and friendly hosts. They make sure that you have everything you need to make your stay at their inn much more enjoyable. Loved the room. Loved the bed. The king-size bed in the Jupiter was very comfortable. Loved the spacious bathroom and the soft towels. And finally, loved that this AMAZING inn is very very dog-friendly. Stanford, our adorable corgi had a great time walking in the meadow and the trails. We highly recommend this wonderful place. And I almost forgot to mention that it is very reasonably priced. Everything about this B&B was just perfect; from the secluded, wooded location, to the delicious breakfast and friendly proprietors. My daughter and I were here in early April when the redbud, ceanothus, poppies and buck brush...local flora...were all in bloom. A nice place to stay in Wine Country. They're secluded up in the hills which means a bit of a drive beyond what you'd expect -- you arrive in Cloverdale, and you think you're there, but you've got another 15 minutes ahead of you. It also means that there actually are quails, wild turkeys, deer, and more animals on site. That is a treat well worth the drive. The hosts there are very nice, and the breakfasts are excellent. The dining room is pleasant, they got the Sunday New York Times, and that was very enjoyable. The rooms are nice. We stayed in Canton, and it was a nice space with a gas fireplace which heats the room. The bed was nice in size and support, and the sheets were very soft making for a great night's sleep. The porch swing was a nice touch too. We could not make the jacuzzi tub drain work, so that was the only in-room disappointment. The only other complaint we had was that the pool was still being filled on Memorial Day. I know that others felt the same way -- I saw a couple head to the pool with reading. The chairs were out, the landscaping was being added, and the hose was on, but I wish that had been done during the week or a few weeks prior. This place was ideal as a base for spending the weekend visiting wineries in Mendocino County as well as eating and tasting in Healdsburg. read more

Monterey or Wine country...?!?! We chose wine country for a little R&R, and will definatly come back:-) We arrived a hour before 3pm check in.. they were kind to let us check in 1 hr early. The Hopkins room was availible for us and we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the room. The bed was huge and had pillars and was very comfy! A++ on the bed!! The room decor was very homey and cozy. The bathroom was very clean and has a claw foot tub for soaking. They had little packetts of bath salts too! The bathroom also has a hair dryer and the closet has clean bath robes:-) The plan was to chill by the pool.. so we changed into our swim suits and walked down to the pool.. No need to bring your own beach towel because the provide that too! The property was very quiet and peaceful.. On the way to the pool, we saw wild turkeys.. a bunch of baby turkeys following their mama! So cute! We had the whole pool to ourselves !!! We lounged for hours and snacked on cheese, crackers and deli meats we brought along for the drive. I definatly recomend bringing snacks and lunch foods because they don't have roomservice or a open kitchen. Also they do have mini refridgerator to use:-) They provided alot of info for tourist things to do in the area.. We ate dinner at a Italian place in town they recomended and then went back to our room to chillax .. In the lobby they have DVDs to take in ur room.. Also the dining room in the lodge has a table for drinks.. flavored coffees, assortment of teas and bottled water, no extra charge! And there was a homemade bunt cake! I brought a slice back to the room, the cake was very tasty:-) In the morning we got up for breakfast .. We sat down at a open table and were first served a tray of freshly made muffins.. YUM! The table with the drinks was fully stocked and also had a couple pitchers of different fruit juices. After we finished the muffins, they brought over the main dish.. That day it was savory crepes with cream cheese, capers & smoked salmon. I didn't like this at all but whatever, I'm more of a lunch type of person anyway. Friend ate mine (he didn't like it either) at least we didn't let it go to waste. Finally the last course was fresh fruit.. I loved that:-) We stayed here a couple of nights and really had a great experiance. The Old Crocker IS old but very cozy and they are very hospitible. I loved this place! We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of July. I was so impressed with the location, friendliness of staff, accommodations and quality of the food. The Inn is located out of the way, set back in the woods. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful. Wish I could have stayed an entire week. The location is great - set back away from hustle & bustle but just minutes away from the wineries on Dry Creek Road. All the staff members we encountered were friendly and went above & beyond to make our stay comfortable. Upon checking in, we were given a cheese & cracker tray that was enormous! Plenty for dinner. We stayed in the Golden Spike room - which was adorable. Very comfortable and modern amenities, but still plenty cutesy. I used a Living Social coupon for the stay, so it was an incredible deal. I highly recommend Old Crocker Inn and hope to visit again soon! read more

AMAZING! We were camping nearby and needed and extra spot for my father. the Inn is an old hunting lodge with a storied history , started by the Crocker bank family. The large rooms are nicely done and well kept , the breakfast was fabu! The owners are very nice and tended to our every need. Rustic grounds were great to walk through. all the rooms face out to an exterior porch or are in little cottages so its quite private. Perfect B&B ! read more

Goodness, the owners make you feel right at home. I'm a homebody, and I even LOVE it here. It's rustic but clean, old-fashioned (one of those awesome claw-foot bathtubs, even) and fashionable, genuine, sentimental, fresh, adventurous, calming, peaceful... holy cow look through the thesaurus for synonyms of "heaven," "refreshing," or "beautiful" and you'll find perfect descriptors of the Old Crocker Inn. Breakfast is when you request it, and they cater to vegetarians, too (my husband is a veggie, but I am a bacon-pheliac). The owners, Marcia and her husband, are down-to-earth without any cynicism, warm, hospitality (candy for Easter, complete with the plastic fake grass, too), beautiful gardens, movies (dvd & vhs) to borrow from the lobby (free!! and recent, too), lots of maps of the area, many recommendations of restraunts, wineries, hikes, drives, etc. and really fun to talk to as well. We wished we could stay another year! My husband surprised me for a birthday weekend at this place, and it's the first bed-and-breakfast I've ever visited. I was expecting something uncomfortable, small, awkward, etc. but was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed into their charming, beautiful and friendly Inn... and their culinary skills/generosity are AMAZING. I wish we were still there! They have a whimsical patio/courtyard area where the rooms' doors came to a common area. It's beautiful, with Wisteria, Honeysuckle (the bright orange variety), etc. and a bench, stars, jkfdlajkfda. I feel like all I can do is blabber on and on about how wonderful it was. Perhaps the only thing I'd want to do differently is bring more family along. I know my in-laws and my own parents would LOVE it. We kept remarking on how we loved it but also thought people in their 60s would think it marvelous as well. All in all: perfect balance of privacy and congeniality. read more

From the moment we arrived we felt really taken care of. Linda and Danny made sure we had everything we needed, information was readily available about local area and accommodations were super cozy. Comfy bed with softest sheets and loved being able to go grab a DVD from the massive collection they had to watch a movie in our room. Cuisine was spectacular, the attention to detail and dietary restrictions they were in top of it. Will def come back!! Highly recommend. The Old Crocker Inn is one of my new favorite places on earth. Everything about it is perfect, honestly. My boyfriend and I decided to go away for a weekend to Sonoma as a Christmas gift to each other, rather than buy each other gifts. I researched literally every place in Sonoma County and couldn't have been happier with my decision to stay at the Old Crocker Inn. Now, lets get to the goods.... 1. Amazing beds. They are so comfortable and the sheets are so smooth and the comforter so soft, you never want to leave. Another guest we met there said it best when he said you can be in the bed with someone and not even feel them get out. 2. Fireplace. Its warm and toasty and perfect against the dark wood. Wonderful. 3. We stayed in the Golden Spike and it had a whirlpool bath. Clean and spacious, you can soak for hours. 4. Marsha and Tony - the owners. Super cool, nice, friendly and down to earth people. They cover all the bases, little luxuries here and there (chocolates and treats), delicious breakfasts in the morning, and great recommendations. 5. The price is right. It's not crazy expensive (especially in the off season). Worth every cent and there aren't all these crazy extra fees. 6. The scenario. It's quiet and relaxing out there with a great view. We wanted to feel like we were getting away from it all and it was nice to experience that while still being able to go places and do stuff. Tons of great wineries are close. Old Crocker Inn was an amazing experience! I took my love there for a birthday weekend getaway and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the beautiful Canton cottage where everything was provided. The bed was beyond comfortable and the Jacuzzi tub was the icing on the cake. Breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious and served with a smile. My husband and I are frequent visitors to the Dry Creek wine region. We have stayed at many Bed and Breakfast Inns. Once we discovered Old Crocker Inn, our search was over. We try to get here at least 3x's a year. The grounds are beautiful. Some rooms overlook the vineyards; while others, the gardens. There are walking paths and lovely gardens with seats at appointed spots. As you walk in the door, you will notice the cathedral ceilings and lovely sitting areas. We have always been greeted with smiles and hugs. Tony and Marsha always check you in and asks if there is anything you cannot eat...not "WHAT ARE YOU ALLERGIC TO" (comment made in an earlier review). I am diabetic and cannot eat too many carbs or food/drinks with sugar. I shared this with them and they adjusted the menu accordingly. Another review commented about how they asked for an air mattress. My question was; did you bring another person unannounced? If so, most Bed and Breakfast places would not have accommodated you. Each room has it's own ambiance. We love the Stafford Room because it has a little bit bigger bathroom. Each room has a DVD player and DVD's to check out in the lobby. The beds are so comfortable, they are hard to get out of in the morning. They put the Westin beds to shame. We have stayed in most of the rooms and have been pleased with each one. Some have Jacuzzi tubs.The pictures on the website do not do it justice. Expect homemade treats each morning...from quiche, waffles, yogurt smoothies, and scones. We have never had a breakfast that we did not like. Each plate is fixed with love and care. We read an earlier review that talked about the rudeness of one of the owners. First, I am disabled and of a different race than the owners and have never experienced what these reviewers stated. Service dogs are to sit down under the table..not walk around or play with while others are eating in the dinning room. In fact, the people I have known with service dogs ask others not to play with them! If they are a trained service dog, they don't have to be tied to a table..smh After reading those reviews, it made us wonder about the writers, not the lodge! We will continue to stay at Crocker Inn when we are in the Dry Creek area. The only drawback is that you need to book weekends or special events early because they book up fast! We will be back as soon as we can get away again! read more

While I do concur with most of the positives (great breakfasts and snacks; 24-hr kitchen w/ coffee and tea, chocolates in every room, spotless, rustic) we had a few challenges during our 4 day stay that are important to highlight. I agree that there are a LOT of positives, and Marcia is very helpful with restaurants, directions, questions etc. However her husband was traveling so she was running the place by herself which led to some issues. 1) We booked through Expedia and were confirmed w/ pay at checkin. At our arrival, Marcia was very upset and said Expedia didn't tell her anything about us. However I had emails on my phone between her and me, specifying what room etc. AND she charged our credit card in advance! And at checkout she couldn't figure out how to work out the bill to another card so we even had to leave before she was done. 2) I disagree about the beds - we stayed in 2 different rooms, a stand alone cottage (Clement) and a lodge room (Crocker). The mattresses are good quality, a pillowtop on top of a very firm mattress, but for older folks like us the beds are WAY too hard. 3) The entire inn uses well water which I don't drink - . I was once sickened by well water at a resort near Yosemite so never drink it. So we bought water for or whole stay. The coffee and tea were fine as they were boiled. 4) Rooms are rustic, very clean but water pressure can be spotty. The tub in the Crocker room was hard to use as a shower as the curtain was way long. 5) Only the stand alone cottages have refrigerators so it was hard to keep drinks cold during the hot spell . The ice buckets are tiny and won't close with a soda or water in them. 5) Pool was open but not heated and solar heat only goes so far so we didn't swim much which was a real downer. I only book places with pools and I had verified the pool was open but didn't think to ask if it was heated at all - my bad. 6) Biggest issue - we came back to our room after a short outing to find a note"Your towels have stains on them. Please tell us what you did." I've stayed literally in Motel 6's to all kinds of resorts and high end hotels and never been accused of staining towels. The towels were nice but on the shabby side, and I didn't see any stains on them. If there was any stain it was likely my hair rinse which often comes out on towels but NEVER stains them. I've been coloring my hair with semi-perm colors for many years and never had a problem on my towels. And shouldn't a B and B be using some kind of bleach-type or oxi-clean cleaner anyway to insure freshness from guest to guest? In any event she not only left us this rude note, but was very unfriendly afterwards, and had housekeeping not leave us any towels when they cleaned the room! We were NOT on a groupon type deal- we had a small discount through Expedia but were paying top dollar for the holiday weekend. This was tone of the pettiest things I've ever encountered at a hotel, motel or B and B. On leaving Marcia was very hostile and screwed up my bill so badly she had to fix it after we left. I feel lousy that such a great place had these glitches - it IS off the beaten track in a great way and most of the stay was good. But I think it's too much for Marcia to run on her own. We did her her telling other guests that it was Tony's idea to buy the place and she never wanted to do it so if he's now off traveling on a regular basis it must be hard for her. read more

I've had the pleasure of staying at this gem, at the northern end of Alexander Valley and about 15 minutes from Healdsburg, several times. Breakfast, a three course affair, never has disappointed. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful, with a healthy dash of humor thrown in. The property is really unique, with several acres and lots of room to be alone. You really get the feeling that you've gotten away. The rooms are quaint (in a good way), with incredibly comfortable beds. read more

We stayed at the Old Crocker Inn May of 2011. We found this charming place when searching for child-friendly places in Alexander Valley. We learned that if we stayed in a cabin, rather than in the lodge, that our two year old would not be a problem. We couldn't be happier about our stay. The drive was beautiful. It is a bit away from 101 and is part of the charm. We passed lovely vineyards and all sorts of wildlife on the way up the hill. Here's a tip - follow the KOA signs and you'll know that you're on the right track. We stayed in the Clement room. We had plenty of space (even with our port-a-crib) and had a very comfortable bed and bathroom. We had a little fenced in outdoor area attached to our room as well. There was a gas fireplace in the room that we would fire up after our little one went to bed. We could have happily stayed in the room all weekend (we had perfect wifi reception by the way). But there was more to enjoy at the old crocker inn. The lodge was both comfortable and elegant depending on how you wanted it. For example, they had clean white coffee cups or handmade ceramic mugs to choose from. The food was terrific as well. I loved the borage flowers in the fruit salad. My favorite feature was the grounds. The garden and grounds were full of little discoveries. The shy aging dog padding around the garden was a total sweetheart. We even spotted a wild turkey and when my two year old finally startled it it flew away and landed rather high up a tree. I had no idea turkeys could fly with such speed and so high! I could go on and on. This is a truly delightful place that I have been recommending to my Bay Area friends and family. read more

I stayed here a few weeks ago for a little girls getaway. We were attending a party for Mercury (make sure you check them out in Geyserville) and usually just stay in town but my friend decided to book something a little nicer. From the moment we arrived Friday night, we were in love with this little slice of paradise. I think we may have never left all weekend if we didn't have plans. The breakfasts are amazing and filling, perfect start for a day of wine tasting, the rooms are cozy, clean and ours had a clawfoot tub which is always a bonus for me. We felt like we were staying with family because the folks that run the place are just the sweetest. I can't wait to return. read more

My Family and I just had the pleasure of spending two nights at the old Crocker Inn. We had a hard time leaving. I cannot begin to describe the serenity and natural beauty surrounding the place -- supported not just by the magnificent setting, but also by the warm, lovely Innkeepers. We were greeting upon arrival (4 hours late) by friendly and helpful Tony. He made sure that we were able to make ourselves at home and eased us into the weekend with our 11 month old baby--who'd just experienced her first unplanned flight delay. He set up up with a crib and opened the kitcken to me so that I could make her bottle, andit all went smoothly from there. The room was clean and charming with the sheets that made us feel like we were wrapped in poppy petals as we slumbered. There was a door that went out to the delightful wooden wraparound porch so that you could easily access the lovely outdoor setting. Morning bfast was deliciously prepared and served by the most gracious staff. The "nature walk" to the pool is framed by fields of wheat and wildflowers with valley views reminiscent of Tuscany. We had planned to take a tour of the area upon waking, but we loved the Inn so much that we ended up never leaving the premises until our evening affair. I had never been to Sonoma before, but I had an idea of what it might be like from photos and articles and descriptions -- our stay at Old Crocker Inn far surpassed my expectations and cemented the region as wine country with soul and unpretenious rusticity. Ah the bed was so cozy! Never have stayed any where away from home with such comfortable sleeping amenities. The grounds were gorgeous and the breakfast is fantastic! We stayed at the Old Crocker Inn over the Memorial weekend 2015 for our annual gathering with our College Friends (this was our 36th annual gathering). Old Crocker Inn was beyond our expectations, rustic, clean, views, just a place to kick back with your friends. close to great Restaurants, vineyards and golf courses. The rooms had all the conveniences and again, very clean. Tony and his staff made us feel at home. If you want the real experience of the wine country we highly recommend the Old Crocker Inn. This place is a gem. If you don't mind staying a bit further out in down-home Cloverdale, you will be extremely happy with your stay at the Old Crocker Inn. I stayed here over President's Day/Valentine's Day weekend this year and had the most lovely time with my honey. All the reviews are true. Delicious breakfasts, low-key non-obtrusive innkeepers, beautiful grounds, yummy homemade desserts in the afternoon, fireplaces in every room, and the list goes on and on. And so reasonably priced! It was raining the entire weekend and I didn't even care. Staying inside was romantic and warm because the rooms are so cozy. read more

We have Stayed here on two different occasions on our way to visit family in Oregon, and each time we wished that we could have stayed longer. The place is very scenic and tranquil, we even say a family of deer grazing next to the parking lot. Excellent food and huge portions. Friendly Inn keepers who let us check in late when we mis-calculated our drive time. Dog Friendly!!!!! Overall we only have wonderful things to say about the Old Crocker Inn. read more
