I initially started this review as a 2 star review, but it ended well so I landed at 4 stars. There was no sign an no one at the front to let us know where to sit so we just picked a table. Once we were noticed quite a while later we could hear the waitresses talking about, "I can't believe they sat there, We may need to move them. I don't know what we are going to do." As there were quite a few open tables at this point it didn't seem like it would be very difficult to move but no one came over to talk to us. It was almost 15 minutes before one of them actually came over. She started with, "You weren't supposed to seat yourself, we thought we might need to move you but we'll figure it out". umm, ok. I mentioned they had no sign and no one was up front. I was moderately annoyed and VERY hungry at this point so I'm certain I wasn't pleasant so I shouldn't have been surprised our visit went south (sorry, I should have locked it up). Quite a while after we were seated another group of 5 guys were seated next to us. The chefs came out to speak with them and apparently the wait staff knew them. So, no surprisingly despite ordering our drinks well before them their drinks came out first. We then put in our order for wings, a salad, and pizza. While the wings came out in a reasonable amount of time we had to eat them on napkins because we never got plates or silverware. Then it was well over an hour before the pizza arrived, and of course despite putting in our order well before the table next to us (and a really long time before the other table there) we were served last. I inquired as to why and the waitress said, "I put their ticket in before yours." when I asked why she replied, "I don't know why I did it". You don't know? Really? Well, we got there at 2:30 and didn't get our food until almost 4. Apparently since it was a saturday afternoon and they filled up after we got there they were telling people it would be 45min-60min for pizza but we were not told this and it wasn't busy when we first arrived. So after we finally got our pizza another waitress came by and said, "Christina (apparently our first waitress though she never introduced herself) wanted me to drop off the check. Do you need to-go boxes?" I'm not sure if they were trying to rush us out because people were now waiting or if Christina just passed off the duty on the poor other waitress who didn't know we had just gotten our food. It was just a exclamation point and an exceptionally poor experience. I initially wasn't going to say anything but I figured I was going to leave a review so i should give them an opportunity to fix the situation. I asked for the manager who offered to comp the WHOLE meal before I even told her half of what happened. She said that she had heard about the pizza issue and was unaware of the boys next to us getting special treatment but that, "no one gets special treatment here because we value all of our customers". She came out to the table and apologized to every one and refunded our ticket. She invited us back and even offered a gift card, but I said it was unnecessary. She said they would look into what happened, and I actually believed her. So, really great service recovery. And now onto the important stuff.
The food here is AMAZING. The wings are actual whole wings and the flavor is to die for. I can't think of a better wing i've had. It seemed like more of a rub rather than a sauce so it wasn't messy to eat. Even the ranch seems homemade and was delicious. I had the salad which was a unique blend of small spears of veggies rather than just lettuce and the dressing and toppings were all outstanding. I really enjoyed it. Once we got the pizzas they were excellent as well. My boyfriend loved the "Meat Pie" (psa its a pizza pie...apparently some people don't get that?). It was loaded with sausage and pepperoni. We also had the chicken, artichoke pizza with balsamic glaze. I overheard the manager telling another table it would "change their life", well I can attest it was on point. The crust was woodfired to perfection and had great flavor. The price was reasonable; their pizzas are $14 for what would be about the size of a medium pizza elsewhere. I can easily see why this place gets such great ratings as the food is really something. I hope they figure out the flow and staff a little better because this place has a ridiculously good product. We have family in pine so I will definitely be back. read more
