Very casual laid back brew pub offering organic craft beers as well as sandwiches, pizza and pub eats. We stopped in for lunch and you seat your self and help yourself to a menu and then place your order at the bar. The food is brought out to you. I had the Dreaming for a Cure Cream Ale with orange and vanilla. It was ok but lacking in flavor in my opinion. My wife had an iced coffee which she enjoyed . We split a sandwich called "Camille" on a gluten free bun. Smoked turkey, bacon, goat cheese and raspberry preserves along with a bag of chips. It was very tasty. Our main complaint was the music was too loud and not the type of music that should be played for an older midweek lunch crowd . If in the area ,give them a try as it is in the historic Colonial Bread building.

I love a good week-end Brunch and I can now have one here at, Old Bakery Brewery. They just started having it and it is 9:00 AM till 11:30 AM on Saturday and Sunday. I give them extra bonus points for offering it on both weekend days. Brunch is not just about good food, it is also about refreshing adult cocktails. OBB offered traditional brunch cocktails, but they also offered a few creative ones. Being a, Martini Man, I ordered the, Bloody Martini. I was a nice twist combining a Bloody Marty with a Vodka Martini. I grew up in the country on a farm, so I still love, Biscuits and Gravy. Here, you get a choice of sausage or mushroom gravy. I went with, sausage and it totally hit the spot on a Sunday morning. I went with a single biscuit and added a side of breakfast potatoes and one scrambled egg. It was filling enough. After I ordered, two cousins arrived to experience the new brunch, so we dined together. They ordered, the Breakfast Burrito and Croque Madame. Both servings were extremely large. Both of them are true foodies and said the entrees were delicious. I am confident, we'll all be coming back for brunch at Old Bakery. Occasionally, I work weekends at a part-time job and with it starting at 9 AM and being close to my work, I can enjoy a hearty brunch and still be to work by 10. This brunch is a winner.

We've lived in Alton for close to two years now and have been here at least 15-20 times. I finally feel confident to give this place a well deserved 5 stars. The food is very good, and fresh. I recommend brunch! Amazing addition. Currently I'm hooked on their seasonal peach bbq chicken sandwich, oh my gosh is it good. The menu has something for everyone. Service had been great. Kind, helpful people that really want you to enjoy your time with them. We've gotten to know them and we just love everybody that works here. There was one stinker working the register but I haven't seen him in a minute. I love their non alcoholic options! Very good considering they're a brewery. The atmosphere is wonderful and the space is fantastic. We adore how many special events/popups they have- book fairs, clothing boutiques, farmers market in the brewing area early this summer, all sorts of events throughout the year. This place really does feel like a community hub and we're so grateful for that! Highly recommend!

Delicious breakfast!! We came right when they opened at 9am on a Sunday and got our food quickly. Highly recommend. I modified the breakfast burrito to make it vegetarian, but they have a very vegan/vegetarian friendly menu. This is such a cool spot and it's inside a beautiful brewery!

The stuffed mushrooms and carnitas were excellent. The French onion soup and chicken wings were good as well. The beer is good. We had the eagle limited edition and blueberry ale. Will stop by again on my next trip to Alton.

Big open area for dining or enjoying a brew or cocktail. Loved the menu choices which were on a pub-like bur either an upscale flair. Self ordering at the bar for both food and drinks. No noted gluten free noted on the menu, but can find gf choices. Food served at your table . Service was friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed a casual lunch in this conveniently located Alton eatery.

Friends had been here before and invited us to go check it out with them. We went on a Sunday afternoon and there weren't many people there. It's a little drive from where we live, but it's mostly highway and time passes quickly. It's a cool looking place! There are plenty of tables in the dining area. There is a place to sit outside, but it was too cold the day we were there. Food and drinks are ordered at the bar and the food is delivered to the table. I forgot to take pics of food and drinks - we were hungry and thirsty! I had the Bob Barker sandwich with fries and I had a couple of the Sour Coop cocktails. The sandwich was okay but needed a little something more. The fries and the cocktails were really good. I can't remember what everyone else got, but they were all happy with their choices! I've included pics - just not of our food!

I tried the burger of the week, a poutine burger, and it was a winner. The savory chicken gravy paired well with the crisp fries and gooey curds. My wife tried the bacon mac&cheese hotdog, another delicious dish. Great drinks and friendly service rounded out this excellent experience.

Just had to share my review of The Gunther burrito. THIS is what great vegan food should taste like! Awesome ingredients. Burrito with chickpea curry, rice, spinach and mint cucumber sauce. So warm and comfy on a cold winter's day. Paired with fries and my all time favorite Citrus Wheat beer. Thanks for supporting people with plant-based diets. There are always plenty of choices on the menu and great beer!

The food was great! Anywhere that offers a bison burger makes me smile. They also had vegan options. There are specials available on different nights of the week. Sunday is the day for vegan specials. I don't drink (that's telling you something if someone who doesn't drink loves a brewery so much that they give it five stars!), but my date thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry beer they had. Mostly, I love the atmosphere - there is tons of space and there are fresh plants all over! It was decorated in a cute way that made me feel peaceful. The service was good, too! I really love coming here and I think you will too, no matter your tastes!

STILL lovin' this place! Truly appreciate the non-alcoholic cocktails they offer. The pickles are to DIE for! Aaaaand, the Dollyrito was DELICIOUS! Lots of good flavors! Love the vibe of this place too. The folks working there were cheerful and efficient. Just a great place all around

Narrow Gauge has a great microbrewery vibe, and the beer selection was impressive--everyone in our group found something different to try. I went with a 16 oz Mullanphy's, an Irish-style red ale, and it really hit the spot. Smooth, flavorful, and exactly what I was looking for after a long day. Since we had worked up an appetite, we ordered food from Cugino's Italian Restaurant next door, which pairs perfectly with the brewery setup. It made for a seamless experience--great beer and great food without having to go far. What stood out just as much as the drinks was the service. The manager on duty was attentive and made sure our group was taken care of, which added to the overall positive experience. All in all, it was a great way to wrap up the day. I'd definitely recommend Narrow Gauge for anyone looking for quality craft beer and a laid-back atmosphere.

Morrison's Irish Pub - Alton, IL…read more We finally stopped into Morrison's and it delivered that cozy, old-world Irish pub charm you want when you walk through those doors. I had the Irish cheese sandwich, Justin went with the corned beef -- and both were genuinely good. Comforting, hearty, and exactly what you hope for in a pub meal. Now... the kitchen was moving a bit slow this visit. Was it noticeable? Yes. Was it worth the wait? Also yes. Because Sam -- the female bartender -- absolutely made the experience. Fun, engaging, and the kind of personality that makes you feel like you're already a regular even if it's your first visit. That kind of service turns a "slow day" into a good memory. The menu is packed with authentic Irish favorites, and honestly, next time we're absolutely going to lean fully into the classics -- because this feels like a place that does traditional comfort food right. One small wish: I really wish they made their own chips. The bagged chips were a little lackluster and felt like a missed opportunity next to an otherwise hearty, made-with-care menu. Overall: a great spot that was likely just having an off day -- and still absolutely worth your time. Don't leave without ordering the pear cider. It is absolutely fabulous. Bright, crisp, lightly sweet, and dangerously drinkable. We'll be back -- and we're coming hungry.
