This place is so great! If I could open a bar, this dark,classy, cocktail lounge, is exactly what it would be.... patio out back, beautiful interior. Made me wish I was having an affair so I could meet him at T he Old 97. Could only give it 4 stars because our waitress was very unprofessional and messed up the bill. Then SHE was upset because we wouldn't just pay the $104.00 she wrote on a napkin. We wanted to see what drinks we were getting charged for, as one member of the party left early. But don't let that little blip keep you from checking this great place out! Alcoholics be warned- you'll want to move in!!! read more

Not very inviting. Unless you are a local don't go in. Tried the place twice. Horrible service. Went in with a group if 8 people and Nobody even said a word to us we stood at the bar trying to get drinks and all three bartenders ignored us, never even acknowledging we were there so we left. read more

GREAT PLACE! A trip to here is like a hybrid of an old Irish pub and a jazz club. With the all new refinished dark wood everywhere and the live entertainment and high class drinks this place is sure to please. Definitely check the schedule online because they do have some private parties there(its so beautiful nice that people rent the place out for formal receptions and showers) They have an assortment of good scotch and bourbon and french liqueurs to compliment the standard list of bar ingredients. Smaller craft beer selection at around 10-15 but seems to be kept up to date with whats new. The bartenders are fun and will mix you up something nice. Very nice patio with ping pong, bocce, and corn hole. Also they have a small bar on the patio open sometimes. The nicest place in Kenmore hands down!!! read more

One of my favorite bars in the area. The atmosphere is great, they have an amazing patio for outdoor hangs in the summer. Good cocktails, and I've never had a problem with the service. The only reason I didn't give 5-stars is because the beer is over-priced. $5-6 for a beer that would cost $3-4 at most bars. ...just order a cocktail instead. read more

Very quaint bar with lots to offer. This is my new favorite bar. They offer a full bar with great appetizers. If you've never been, the outside deck area is worth the trip. They also have bocce ball and other activities to enjoy with your cocktail. The bartender makes a great Manhattan. read more

We recently(September) had a private birthday party and I was a nervous wreck, not doing all the planning, decorating, etc. myself. Debbie(owner/operator) and staff did a fabulous job. The venue looked beautiful! Attention to detail was evident throughout. The food was great and the service phenomenal! Now that was an awesome private party! As a local bar, it is a fabulous place! Beautiful interior and patio! Love the fact they have entertainment! I recommend this bar/cafe constantly. It is a gem in the Kenmore warehouse district. It is so worth the trip. I don't normally write reviews but after last night's holiday cocktail tasting I just had to. I really appreciated all the work the staff put in to make it a wonderful evening for me and my family. Everything from the beautiful Christmas décor, the creative cocktails and appetizers, to the handmade ornaments, recipe cards and menu shows that a lot of thought was put into this very classy and fun night. No detail was overlooked. Our waitress earned every bit of her pay last night walking up and down the steps and delivering our food with a Christmas tune and a smile. I don't know how such a small staff pulled it off. Thanks again and we look forward to future tastings there. Keep up the excellent work! read more

This place is amazing! I through my Wife a 1920's Great Gatsby surprise party. We were able to reserve the whole bar for our guests. We were able to bring food a DJ and decorate to match the theme. Debbie let us do pretty much what ever we wanted. It was a great night and it's all thanks to Old 97 Cafe. The accommodations were endless. The bartender could make any drink known to man and the prices were decent. I plan on spending a lot more time at Old 97. read more

Friends of ours told us about the Old 97 Cafe and we thought we would try it. I called on a Friday and spoke to a lady there who told me that the menu changed daily and suggested that she reserve one of the best tables for us for Sat. night. Our friends arrived before us and were seated at a very small high top table in the corner of the bar and had ordered the meat and cheese plate and drinks. We sat down and waited for a waitress she never arrived to take our drink order. My husband then went to the end of the bar where the bartender was more interested in talking to the three people sitting at the bar than waiting on him. At this point we still saw no wait staff so our friends finished their drinks and paid their bill and we left - never to return. The lady I spoke with on Friday told me that they had recently bought and renovated this building but with the lack of customer service it will not be there very long. As a business ownerI understand that customer service is very important and this establishment needs a lesson in that area. I can't comment on the food because we never were offered any! read more
