I LOVE that they have an actual recycling center in South Lake Tahoe, especially because many restaurants/stores/outside bins can be deceptive thinking you're actually recycling/composting when in reality, they group it all together when they taking the trash out (yes, I'm talking to you Taco Bell next door). At this center, they are particular about the CRV and cleanliness. One thing I'd wish they'd improve on is being consistent with allowing other plastics to be recycled that have the PET symbol on it even though there's no buy/back value. I do this for the environment, not for the money (although it's a nice incentive and extra motivation to make the drive) and I know I'm not alone in being sustainability oriented so that would be a great change. Definitely recommend bringing your items here if you don't have a go-to center already!!!

All smiles all the time. I would absolutely go there for all your basic needs. Make sure to have CA plates if bringing a lot. If you have other plates you can only bring 25 pounds (or what you think is 25 pounds don't bring more) as it's state law. I learned this. Haha. We have a contract with WM that gives us residential garbage service once a week for about $5 bucks a week ..... can't beat that, plus option for TWO big ass recycling bins, where you don't have to sort your stuff anymore ... AND Two, big yard waste bins, for grass cuttings, and any tree or bush trimmings. On top of all this you get 3 large item pick ups curbside per year .... they took a fridge and a washing machine! They'll even take a couch or recliner! all this for $5 a week! The person service I get when I call is a real person and not much of a wait if at all to answer your call. They are very friendly and informative. This is a LOCAL call to East Carson, so yeah you could go in in person if you wanted! Why then if you go to Google and look up WM Carson City its 955 reviews and 4 1/2 stars?

I got a bill for $1,250. I called and asked why they added 45% of the bill in extra fees, even though their website said 20%. I called and asked why the two things conflicted and the woman who I was speaking to in construction department was very rude. I waited a month to get an answer back, all the while they were adding late fees to my bill. They had multiple notes on my account, such as they pulled the call and discovered I was never told about any fees, but they did nothing about adjusting the price. I spoke with a different woman multiple times who was very helpful, but eventually she said that in the notes the person who makes the decision about price adjustment said that they would do nothing about adjusting the price and I just had to pay. I still have not heard anything back about why their website says 20% fees but they charged 45% and it has been about 2 months. CALL EMPIRE CONTRACTORS - They quoted me $450 for 8 tons of concrete (I still have about 10 tons left) I just wish I had known about them in the first place!!
