We were camping at the nearby state park and were looking for a place that was open for wine tasting and picked this one. It was around 5pm on a Thursday and we were the only ones around. The tasting cost $40 for 6 pours, starting with a rose and ending with a Cabernet Sauvignon. I am not very fond of reds but all the ones that were on the tasting menu that day were very good. The rose was my favorite. I was talking to the owner and he mentioned that he prefers to be out making wine instead of pouring and I can see that. Also, the pours were very tiny. There was not much information shared about the wine etc, he left the bottle with the information side turned towards you to read up on your own. The place itself is beautiful and it used to be a hardware store. It's right next to the city hall and across the street from the police station. There is street parking as well as a public parking lot next to the police station. The place is dog friendly and the owner bought out a bowl of water for my baby. I didn't buy anything but I would visit again. read more

We happened to drop in to Olabisi in Calistoga on a whim just walking through town, and we're so glad we did. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Ted, who was very kind and knowledgeable, and the wine was Excellent and a Great value. The tasting room was cute, clean, comfortable, and bright. We left with 6 bottles and wish we bought more; will be ordering more soon. We went to several other bigger/more "famous" wineries in the area, and Olabisi was our favorite. This winery is a absolute gem! The day is getting later as we arrive in Calistoga. We wonder if we will have a chance to have a wine tasting. I find Olabisi (meaning; joy multiplied). I call the winery and set up a private tasting. Within 20 minutes the owner, Ted Osborne, warmly greets us and opens the door to this delightful tasting room. We are comfortably seated as he pours his Rose, Rose Syrah, and a beautiful crisp Sauvignon Blanc. The conversation is jovial and informative. We agree that it would be a shame to not drink a wine or rum found in a 300 yr old pirate ship, on the bottom of the ocean no matter if it is questionable. We laugh, he produces a wine called Black Pearl! True story!! It was great! We tried great great wines here. What a treat! Bought wines from Howell Mountain region. Amaze. Also a 2014 Cab Sav for our Christmas table, which is the highest honor I can bestow on a bottle of wine. Can't wait to return! read more

Loved our experience at Olabisi and love Joy! My boyfriend and I stopped in and we were the only one's in there for a little bit and got Joy's full attention. She is such a wonderful person. Gave us the background of the winery, the owners, their story, why she works there etc. She also instructed us well through the wine tastings. Giving us lots of tips and stories about the wines we were tasting. FYI, Picnic was my favorite taste. Unfortunately the winery is a smaller one and the tastings are so good because you won't find them in BevMo's, restaurants etc. Their wine is truly special. My boyfriend does not like Merlot's and their Merlot was very tasty and good. We ended up buying a bottle and paying for one tasting. The experience was truly special and I think the owners need to know what a great job they're doing and Joy is definitely a large reason of why they're so successful with their wine tasting location. Such a disappointment. We came early to Calistoga to be rudely greeted by the owner and told they weren't finished cleaning and come back in 10. Came back in 15 to be greeted with f-bombs in front of our 7 year old. Tried really hard to find a reason to stay but the owner was so unbelievably rude, miserable, and uninviting that we could not find an excuse to stay. We were looking to buy a case of wine and literally couldn't find any more excuses to stay. We know a lot of people from New York (which was her excuse) and being horribly rude is no longer an excuse. Take your money elsewhere...many small businesses and wineries that have great customer service deserve your hospitality and your money. Literally stay away!! read more

(4.5 stars) A lovely little spot for wine tasting. The tasting room has an Americana, back porch kinda feel, the tastings themselves are engaging and intimate, and the wines are great. The Cabernet tasting of $50 for 5 wines is super steep and honestly we enjoyed the regular flight of $25 for 5 wines better. Definitely check out the Pinot, Zinfandel, or Time Machine if you can. We stumbled upon Olabisi Wines while trying to find a wine tasting room that was open after 5pm. It was a cold, rainy day and we were so happy to find Olabisi. The space is very welcoming and has a nice, warm fireplace. John was great to talk to and let us take our time and taste all the great wines. We stayed for a long time, just sipping wine and enjoying the conversation and relaxing atmosphere. We bought a few bottles to help re-fill the wine 'fridge. We arrived at 5:36 (closes @ 6pm) and were told by a woman that we were too late! We even told her no too worry, we wouldn't stay past 6, but again she said: "NO, it's too late, you can have only one wine", so of course we walked out, we really wanted to taste the different wines we've read so much about. From reading the reviews we wish Brian had been there so we could've done a tasting. That woman had no customer service skills, plus if she doesn't want to serve past 5;30, closing time should be posted as 5;30 NOT 6pm, we'll never buy their wines! read more

We were in town for our friend's wedding and they recommended this winery as a place to come. Since we had some time to kill before dinner we decided to pop in. Joy was super sweet and friendly. When we said we were in town for a wedding she knew exactly the one. She was very personable and made sure to remember our names and everything. We had a good time talking to her. We all agreed that the wines were really good and I do regret not getting a bottle but since it was our first stop and we were staying in town, we knew we could come back. Cannot recommend this spot enough! We stumbled upon Olabisi by chance; we parked across the street when going somewhere nearby for lunch. We decided to stop in and were immediately greeted by Joy. She was welcoming and inviting, and she already had some guests that she was helping. Even though there were two other parties in the middle of their tastings, she was able to help everyone and no one was ignored! Now to the wines. They were great!! We tasted 5 wines and ended up buying a bottle. Our friends even joined the wine club (which was not pushed on them at all). There was no pressure to buy anything, which made the experience that much better. For each wine, Joy showed us a map of where the grapes came from and gave us some background on the area. Came here super last minute, just before closing. I told Brian that I like whites and he offered the different years of the Chardonnay. All were really good and since we were sitting at the barstools, we had a great conversation with him! Brian was so sweet and super professional. He even explained to us how his wine opener thing works (I forget what it's called but it punctures a thin hole through the cork and pours it out... something with argon...). The ambiance here is super chill and relaxing. They even allow you to rent the whole space out if you have any special events or requests, so Brian can definitely make it work for you! Whatever everyone else has said positively I agree with! We were greeted by Joy and she did a fabulous job teaching us all about the wines, talking to us about details and getting to know us :-). It's a small tasting room and the wine you taste is only sold there. We really enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc and the Rose. And we really aren't rose people in general. We were hoping for a little more out of the Pinot, but everyone has their personal preferences. The Chardonnay was also nice. It wasn't too dry or buttery. Quaint little spot. Fun and cozy seating. My boyfriend and I dropped in here before we went to dinner back in December of 2018 while celebrating our anniversary. I mostly wanted to come in because we had a little time and wanted a bottle of wine for dinner (and the outside was super super cute). The woman behind the counter was alone and helping one or two groups already so she was a bit busy. I work in the industry and thought I would make it easy on her and just mention that I work in the industry and would like to maybe just taste one or two wines and get a bottle to go. She looked at me like I was crazy and pointed to my boyfriend and said "well you can taste but he has to pay. Also we don't do wine by the bottle, this is strictly a tasting room". I responded politely and continued to look at the menu while she rushed off. We decided to leave shortly after and just grab a bottle at the restaurant. She definitely left a bad taste in our mouths...I have been working in a tasting room myself for 2 years now and would never treat a fellow "industry partner" like that. I might come back in the future to see if it has changed or maybe someone else working, but this was a pretty bad first impression for us. read more

Our visit to Olabisi was perfection. Honestly - I am torn between wanting to tell you how good it was, and wanting to keep it a secret so it stays amazing. The frosted windows and minimal signage gives the impression that it may be closed or holding a private event... but poke your head in and you'll discover a warm, comfortably bustling, cozy tasting room. They have plans for this place, and I strongly suspect that in 6 months the word will have gotten around and the vibe will be a bit different (not bad, just different)... so if this sounds up your alley, get yourself to Olabisi ASAP! read more

I was visiting this area from out of town with my brother and saw that this place was recommended by a tourism book. John helped us with our tasting and we ended up purchasing a few bottles. John's friendly and warm personality was very welcoming and made the whole experience spectacular. The wine here is incredible; you can taste the great amount of care and effort that's put into to producing such quality wine. I brought a friend along from out of town and wines were just fabulous. Joy made our experience so amazing. The environment is very relaxing and hip. These folks know their stuff and make great wines. It's crazy just to take one bottle. My friend got a half a case. I took a case and joined the club. I love their Cabs. I can't remember our host's name but he was so friendly, accommodating (stayed open about 15 min after typical close as we chitchatted and discussed the potential bottles we'd take home), and knowledgeable - as a result I think we picked up one of my future favorite pinots.
