First visit was awesome! It's a cute and clean set up with great drinks and tasty food. The service was awesome. Definitely try the flights! read more

Great visit to Ola Brewing. Good beer, very good eats (see pics). Servers were very nice. And made some great recommendations. We had some of their beers and one that was mixed with their hard seltzer (Creamsicle). The beers were good. I'd recommend U get and share one of their various flights and decide on what you like best. We got a couple of the Ola Burgers and a couple of Chicken Birria Tacos (super tasty!). I think what we most enjoyed was the dessert. Our Server recommended we try their Ice Cream Bao and try it with the "Cookie Monster" and "Mexican Chocolate" (cinnamon taste). The Baos deep fried and covered with cinnamon-sugar. Super yummy! I'd recommend you come out to Ola for some good Beers, Hard Seltzers, Hard Juices and a tasty meal! read more

Food items were hit and miss. Seltzers ok. Some food was soooo good but others average. Other patrons seemed to be in the same boat. In a pinch in Hilo I'd highly recommend, wouldn't go out of my way to go back though. read more

Too many customer penalty fees. Pay by credit card, they add 3%. Pay by cash, they round the bill. Seriously.

Small selection but very fresh craft beer on tap, decent food at happy hour, on the water with views of the waves breaking across the street, I went there twice it was so nice, waitress never rushed us read more

Zack was our amazing waiter! So kind. We had amazing brunch items: avocado toast with egg and pork belly Benedict sandwich. Both were phenomenal!!! I had the juice flight and husband had bougee beer flight. Highly recommend this spot!!! read more

The food and table service was friendly and fast. However - they took almost 5 minutes to acknowledge us and several workers looked at my party of 8 and continued to ignore us. It was quite annoying for workers not to even smile at us. I felt like we were bothersome. We arrived after 9 pm but the website said the restaurant closed at 11 pm. If they didn't want us in the restaurant they should have told us. We were not the last to leave so again I felt we were a bother and not worth an acknowledgment. I will not return to Ola Brew Hilo and I will not bring my outer-island family again. We will go to Zippy's or McDonalds to get friendlier welcome to an establishment. read more

We had a couple short flights and once we landed in Hilo we were all really hungry. Did a quick search for something close by and this place looked like it would check all the boxes for us and it did! My husband got the bougee beer flight, I got the hard juice flight, and our daughter had the blue ginger lemonade. For food, we had some of the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had with the most delicious roasted garlic imaginable. We also had the dan Dan gnocchi, the pork belly Bao bun, the shrimp Bao bun, and the kids grilled cheese. Our server was kind enough to offer recommendations and steer me away from an item that definitely would have been an Mis-order for me. The whole experience was great and they even had lilo and stitch coloring sheets and full boxes of markers for kids. Plus the overall aesthetic of the place is cool and it's a perfect stop for anyone coming straight from the airport. Five stars from all three of us! read more

Love the vibe here and the food is awesome. Our server was Zack P and he made the experience top tier. He's super sweet, great recommendations, and super quick service! He made the experience at this restaurant 10/10. read more

Wait time was kinda long when we went, but the girl working the register was helpful in helping us to place a takeout order. She also let us know that we could sit outside on the bar-style table and that she'd bring out the food. Our food was alright, but the fries I had with my burger absolutely slapped! Soooo good! Looks like a nice place to come hang out, talk story with friends, etc. read more

Super friendly and very chill spot with amazing beers, hard seltzers and hard juices! Food is not an after thought, everything we had was delicious but the shrimp bao buns were the group's fav ! read more

Visited Ola on a rainy day following my hike to the summit of Mauna Kea. Needless to say, I was absolutely starving, and Ola solved all my hunger problems right away. Their burger was perfectly cooked, the beer was refreshing, the fries were the right level of crispiness, and service was attentive. It's got the typical brewery+restaurant vibe, so if that's your thing you'll be right at home. read more

Ola Brew - Brewpubs Near Me - Hilo, Hawaii

I've always loved Ola Brew and their service and food , I didn't get the name of the waitress but when I went in I was a mess , I lost my 9 month old puppy, a week later one of my senior dogs collapsed and passed and her sister 3 weeks later died of cancer ..2 days after that Yamada Furniture in Hilo layed me off .. I told the waitress that and she made sure I received my burger quickly and she bought me a drink read more

We went here a couple times while in Hawaii. The drinks were pretty good. The service was good too. It's an interesting place. There are a lot of seats and a long bar, but it still gets pretty crowded. We sat at the bar once and then at a high top table near a large window the next. It was nice to chill out in the cold air conditioning sipping on beers here. read more

I had been to the one in Kona but only for the brews. Here we tried a couple of appetizers and split the steak entree with a flight and then some more brews. The bao pork belly bun was delicious. Steak was awesome with chimichurri sauce. I wish our server had pointed out the available various sauces to get on the side Totally missed that. OK service and fun vibe. Sit at bar or wait for a table. read more

Food is always delicious and so are the drinks. Sometimes they're a bit busy with an overflow of seating outside while waiting or eating. If they're really busy, expect to wait a while for your food. Prices are a little higher for some food items. But they are specialties, which make sense. Wish the menu was a bit bigger and with more rotating options. Overall, still good food and drinks. read more

We arrived at lunch service and there was lots of room for seating available. A small parking lot is available in back. The food was fantastic, we opted for burgers and a fried chicken leg. Dark Cacao Altbier and Pineapple Juicy (hard juice). The burgers were juicy and delicious, the fries were great. The chicken leg was juicy and had a tempura style batter (subbed fries for mashed potatoes). We also had a pork belly bao bun and the bun was so fluffy and the pork belly was fantastic. The servers were friendly and attentive. The dining room was open, but not much of a view. Would def recommend giving this a try. The menu seems to rotate a bit as what we found online was not exactly what was available. read more

I come here literally for the staff. They are all so incredible!!!! I love that they are close to the airport so if you have a little of time before your flight, definitely swing by. The beer selection is really fun. They offer unique seltzers (which isn't really my thing but I always try a flight of the new local flavors). The smash burgers are incredibly filling! The gnocchi is actually fire, hot! And their Bao Buns are great if you need to eat something after a few beers but are too full for a full burger. Their menu has changes a little due to what's in season/available on island but that keeps things interesting and we get to try different things. On your way out, you can also purchase a 6 pack of whatever is in. They once had an IPL which was so unique I had to go back and buy more. I'm a big IPA fan, and the IPLager was a unique twist! read more

Ola Brew - Smash burger and salad - IPA - Brewpubs Near Me - Hilo, Hawaii

We stopped here as we came into Hilo for a day in the water. We grabbed some cans and a growler, then on the way home we'd stop by again for a refill. They moved from ciders to juices since my last visit to the island and we all approve. I love their donation offering to the local community. read more

Ola Brew - Love this give back - Brewpubs Near Me - Hilo, Hawaii

This is a great spot to grab lunch while in Hilo! My co-worker recommended it when we were in town for work. We came on a rainy afternoon and were seated right away. Their menu is a bit limited but has some interesting looking dishes and a few staples you'd find in a bar. We both opted for water (work trip, remember?!), but their beer and drink selection looked really good. The non-alcoholic drinks sounded good too, but the glass they came in looked small for the price so I didn't order one. We both ordered the smash cheeseburger and fries with a side of herb aioli. I couldn't believe how fast our order came out...maybe 5 minutes? In any case, the burger was outstanding and totally delicious, and the fries were hot and crispy. The aioli was good and I had to enjoy the fries with some ketchup, too, of course. Service was prompt and they kept coming around to check on us multiple times, offering more water, etc. I really appreciated it. This would be a great place to have pupus and beers with friends! read more

I tried this place out a year ago and that food was good, the service on the other hand was horrible. they didn't come and check us for atleast 30 mins, until we mentioned that we hadn't been helped. today I came in trying to give this place another chance because the vibes and food was nice the first time. The restaurant was dead with there only being my table and a few people at the bar, it took a server 15 minutes just to come up to us again. I find this experience terrible and will not recommend this to anyone. Will not be returning read more

Friendly service. Waited about five minutes to order. We like the vibe and decor. Keiki liked his burger. Wasn't impressed with his fries. Husband was disappointed they didn't have bbq sauce or ranch for a burger. Which is pretty standard at a brewery. He also said the burger tasted kinda fishy. lemonade was tart and bubbly. Not expected. Kid says very weird. Bloody Mary was a 3. Breakfast burrito was good. Salad with it we didn't care for the dressing. read more

Stopped in for lunch and got some small plates. Had the curry fries and the cauliflower which were both great! I also got a flight of beer (and one hard juice) and was very satisfied with their offerings. They offer a few different flavors of hard juice which seems to be their split focus on brewing. The restaurant was very spacious but the oddity was that while there were plenty of windows, non of them opened so there wasn't much airflow in the space. The air definitely felt stale after being there over the course of an hour. It's a small complaint, but hey it felt worth mentioning. read more

The staff was wonderful! Very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant clean. The food was pretty good. We split an Ola burger and side of gravy fries. Very good flavor on the burger and the side of fries was more than we could finish. I would recommend this restaurant as a nice luncheon or light dinner stop. read more

My husband and I love the Ola hard juice drinks so we really wanted to check this restaurant out while we were in town! We ended up going in on a Sunday and they only offered Sunday brunch - which allowed you to order from a small menu. I ended up getting the Ola burger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. The burger had a good bun to meat ratio, the sauce was delicious and the cheese was melted to perfection. I also got my kids the banana ice cream and let me tell you, it was delicious. I had to get one for myself. It was a banana ice cream with strawberry swirl and Oreo cookies! I also got an Ola hard juice flight. I loved the guava Lilikoi orange flavor, but didn't really care for the rest. The staff was attentive towards the beginning, however towards the end of our dining experience we ended up having to flag them down a few times because they seldom came to our table. I didn't even get a refill on water - I ended up having to drink the rest of my son's water. The restaurant itself was very welcoming. If you're looking to have a meal with your family, or just want to meet up with some friends to have a great meal and a few drinks, this is the place to be! read more

We stopped in for lunch around 1p. The place was busy but had a lot of seating. There are open seating tables in the back where you sit with other people or you can wait for a high top or sit at the bar. They have merchandise when you first walk in - Pilsner glasses, hats, hydro flasks, bottle openers etc. After being seated, we waited about 20min before a server came by to take our order. I had the mahi burger special - a MUST have. The mahi was perfectly fried with a crispy panko outside and juicy center. The side salad had a deliciously light ginger dressing. I paired it with the Lilikoi lime milkshake IPA (more lime than Lilikoi). It was smooth and crisp. The service was pretty slow but remember that this is Hawaii and everything is a little slower than in the mainland. Be patient and kind. The food came out really quickly after we placed our order. read more

Second time I've visited this location. I was hungry when I got off the plane from Oahu, so I forgot food pictures! Had a smash burger with a side salad, and my guy had a burger and fries. I knew I could eat some of his fries . Food came out fast and hot. The fries were crispy, and the salad dressing was AMAZING! The burger fell apart pretty fast, so I ended up eating it with a knife and fork. Tasty burger with a great sauce. Ola beers, hard teas, hard seltzers, and hard juices are something I buy often. I always like to visit the brewery for those tap only offerings. Solid choices in any category. Overall, one of my favorite Hawai'i breweries. Had to grab a 6-pk of the Pineapple hard juice to go as they are donating 25% of profits from the sales to various Maui organizations for wellness and mental health support for fire victims INDEFINITELY! read more

The food was good, priced fair, there beers were great. Would go back here next time in Kaua'i.

The Tofu sandwich I had 2 nights in a row ... I love this place. My friend enjoys the drinks and it's was so good we went twice ... kind staff even though it was busy during Merrie Monarch they had their service organized and friendly. Minimal wait was shocked. We ended here after our tour of OK farms. The food was delicious, the serve staff was wonderful and friendly and flights of drinks refreshing. Listen, I enjoy beer, so of course I'm going to stop in here. We were here just for drinks, not food, so maybe next time. Pros: great beer. Good clientele. They clearly have their fans in town, and it shows (and they invest in the local community!). We also ran into another couple from Ohio, who dropped tips about where to go to spot some sea turtles in the wild! The bartenders we talked to were knowledgeable of the drinks in house, of the food nearby (we mentioned going to Kamana Indian and the bartender was a) jealous and b) insistent we get the garlic-cheese naan, and was spot on). The con: At sunset, the sun shines DIRECTLY into the bar, and they don't seem to have shades in place at the moment. So bring some of your own to avoid being blinded for a bit. But that's like the worse thing I can say about it. Oh, and we walked around the corner, not realizing the ramp lead to their entrance, so a giant arrow saying "enter this way, dumb tourists" would help ) read more

Don't go to this establishment if you have a large group. Or at least that's what I assumed as we were ignored for a good 20 minutes before our party of 8 was seated. A couple who walked in after us were seated before we were. The restaurant was not full when we arrived at 9pm, well before their closing time at 11pm. When I got the bill, a 20% gratuity and a 3% credit card surcharge was automatically added. This is a great policy for the employees who mistreat their customers and still get rewarded for their bad behavior. Or perhaps this establishment would prefer to serve a certain kind of clientele as there were no other locals that I noticed dining there. At least that would explain the treatment we got. read more
