Oki Shōten - Oki Bowl - Ramen Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

First time to Oki.. Interesting vibe and decor was interesting. I have to say the curry ramen bowl was awesome and wasn't expecting a spicy ramen dish. I would highly recommend Oki to anyone. I'll be back soon. read more

This is my favorite ramen place in D.C. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, which is probably why it fills up so quickly. The decorations inside are pretty wacky and feels otherworldly. I've been here when it's cold out for ramen and soju and when it's warm and you can sit outside for some drinks and octopus legs. read more

This place is located north to Georgetown. We parked our car close by, when shopping and then stopped by this place. Not big, had a short wait even before 5pm. I tried their Tom Yum ramen and it has a big lobster inside, and it's not even $20. Great price and the most important part, tastes good. I also tried their mango ice cream dessert, it was a combination of three different flavor. Also tasty. read more

I've not been able to get the ramen from Bangor out of my head so I was pretty stoked to try this place. It had a very funky and fun atmosphere, gosh even the bathroom blew my mind. There was black lights and a "jellyfish" tank for crying out loud! I elected to order the Spider Tom Yum ramen because I've had a bit of a crab obsession lately. While it was extremely good broth, the fried soft shell crab was a complete miss in the bowl. It was soggy when it arrived, and only got soggier. The damn legs and body were vexing me with my chopsticks as utensils... I basically had to ignore the crab and focus on the tasty broth. In the future I would choose to instead order the vegetarian option because the only meat that was in the bowls all were fried and it really isn't worth it to me to see the breading floating as it arrives. Super cool place, a bit expensive for the add ons, I spotted the kimchi addition being $2.00 which seems a bit pricy to me. read more

So we went to the George Town branch not the one in central DC. On 730, mid week and for a dinner service, the space was bustling. I'm puzzled as to why there seems to be such a low rating on Zomato. I barely found faults, the ambience was one of a kind. It complimented the food and certainly leaves you in awe. They have a considerable menu which is easy to choose from and with a good selection of ramen based dishes as well as tapas. The fried chicken curry ramen is what's recommended here the most, and wanting to take no risk , that's exactly what we tried. Although for one curry ramen bowl, we substituted the chicken for mushrooms for a make shift vegetarian option. The food was great! The broth was full of flavor and it was absolutely delicious. The service was efficient and quick. Although the place was packed, they tried to seat everyone as quickly as possible. I will definitely recommend and make a return soon! read more

I've been here multiple times, simply to get that fried chicken ramen in a creamy slightly spicy broth. It's really good.

love this place! it's been a favorite of mine for years. would highly recommend the chashu pork rice bowl!

soooo cute right when i walked in. super friendly service and the food is amazing. the ramen was very yummy and the atmosphere makes this a cozy neat and unique place to dine. such a cool place to go with friends or on a date. (also the bathroom is a must check out) read more

Outstanding ramen, friendly staff, affordable prices. My only gripe is there are no chairs with backs (just benches which are not seated close to the tables). This is not ideal for someone with back pain. Get some chairs, otherwise great job! read more

My wife and I came here after visiting my mom at Georgetown University Hospital. Fun atmosphere, though table frames were uncomfortable for tall guys like me. We started with the shrimp shumai app, which was nice and fluffier than expected. I had the miso ramen, which was ok. My wife had the chashu bowl, which was slightly below the ramen. All in all, glad we went...but I suspect there's better ramen in DC, and much better food in Georgetown. read more

Very solid and tasty ramen served up at this cute, upper Georgetown spot. Cute interior!

So glad this place came to Georgetown. My top 3 for for ramen, Daikaya, Chaplins, and Oki! For rice bowls?: Oki!

Great spot, excellent ramen, lots of menu variety + addons, and cheap hot sake! One of my favorite places in the neighborhood.

Very cozy and funky environment. And the ramen is DELICIOUS!

This place was so delicious!!! It was exactly what I wanted and was not super expensive. They had a full bar and while I didn't try anything they had fun drinks that I'm not used to seeing. read more

What an incredible treat! Wonderful bowls of Ramen, rich broth, served in a charming and unforgettable atmosphere. This place is a gem. Quick and attentive service. Four people can have a full meal for under $60. read more

We were excited to finally have a legit ramen shop in Georgetown, but our first experience was quite disappointing: this place is the epitome of average. If you are in the area and are craving ramen (not other Japanese options), OKI bowl is a decent option. However, if you plan to travel to get ramen, there are way better options in DC and NoVa. The décor is eclectic and fun, but beware that only half of the restaurant (I.e. the actual interior) has such décor. The outside part is quite bland and the chairs/tables are flimsy and reminiscent of medieval torture devices. When we visited, the place was also very loud since they were blasting music at a very high volume. The food is not bad, but not particularly good either. As others pointed out, it seems that they tried to deviate from tradition with more Westernized/Fusion dishes and the results are sometimes questionable. The potstickers were quite mediocre and forgettable. I ordered the Kar-age Chicken bowl. The chicken was quite bland and the only thing I could really taste was the (not really spicy) mayo. My partner had the Spider TomYum ramen. It was definitely better than my Chicken bowl, but not great as the rating suggests. Service was friendly but very slow. I usually don't care about service being a bit slow, but we had to wait nearly 40 minutes to get the appetizer. We seriously thought that they forgot about our order. Prices are a bit on the expensive side for ramen, but portions are large and it is relatively cheap for an establishment located in Georgetown (even if not on M street). Overall this is an average place with the benefit of being in a good location. read more

I eat here often, I like the food, it's a good location and good pricing usually I have a great experience but my last visit was completely - horrible. A server I'll referrer to as Rude Dude (new guy) walked past me while I waited to be seated to help a couple walking in behind me. When I asked why he didn't greet me first, Rude Dude says he only deals with paying customers and he doesn't have to deal with "this shit". Rude Dude continues on and on about the problem I was causing and why he wasn't going to serve me now. All because asked himone question. If you walk into this place watch out for Rude Dude he's a very disrespectful person. read more

The decor is incredibly unique and awesome. It's a great place with good ramen, the miso was a favorite with the spider Tom being distinct, but I'm a sucker for soft shell crab. We also had the fried octopus and the spicy mayo as well as the pickled green onion hit the spot. Can't beat the location for a Georgetown student. I'll definitely be back! read more

This is an amazing ramen place in a nice location and with interesting decor. While the prices are definitely high, the food is truly amazing. read more

Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. Me & my friend travel long distance for this place. The curry ramen is to die for & the restaurant it's self is so cool looking (the bathroom has to be my favorite part as weird as the sounds) read more

This place is great. On nice evenings the patio is wonderful. I loved the kara-age bowl! And the beef bowl was flavorful and delicious.

Wonderful little Japanese noodle place! Must try the noodles with deep fried soft shell crab --- the crab is done beautifully! The price is very good for the portion size. You won't leave hungry! There might be a wait but it's worth it! Now my only suggestion would be to add alcoholic drinks besides beer and sake to the menu! Would love some mixed drinks or plum wine read more

Ramen isn't very good here. They don't use rich pork broth which is a huge downside ! The food is overall tasty, but if you don't have pork broth isn't not a real ramen place, in my opinion read more

We stumbled upon this place on a sudden rainy day yesterday. Turned out to be a super nice surprise. Small hidden gem, decorated uniquely and gives the place a setting of festivity. They also play good music. The service was superb. Our family of 6 tried different things on the menu including ramen and rice bowls and everyone e enjoyed their choices. I would highly recommend the pork ramen and the soft crab one. The curry one is nice and very flavorful and different too, just a bit sweater for my taste. All in all, we had a great quick meal at this lovely place. read more

Though it's a slight trek off the beaten path of M street, Oki Bowl is a decent option to have in the Georgetown dining scene. This location has all the quirky, ultrabright décor of the DuPont location and mostly identical menu, and my thoughts are similar for both locations. Not the traditional ramen you may be expecting (shoyu, tonkotsu, etc), but it's a decent option once you abandon those expectations. The curry ramen is more of a laksa or red curry broth with fried chicken and crispy noodles on top, a nice option for a drizzly day. I found the quality of this dish better at this location than at the other one. The miso ramen here was extremely underwhelming, especially the broth - I would stick with their specialties here. Note that Thomas Sweet and Dolcezza and both just down the road which make for ideal post-meal dessert options. Overall, a cheery place with reasonable prices and better seating setup than its DuPont counterpart. I'd come back if I was in the area and in the mood for some noodles or some of their other dishes, and it seems like a fun place to meet friends, but if you're on a quest for ramen in particular, there are better options elsewhere. read more

What a great addition to Georgetown. We ordered the Kimchi Ramen and the mushroom bowl. A great choice for vegetarians. Both hit the ball out of the park. Huge portions. Great music. Upbeat vibe. Simplified pricing. Thank god this place took over an older struggling Thai restaurant (that had pretty much zero customers). read more

Ramen is very decent, but be aware that these are sort of ramen infusion, a combination of Japanese and Thai flavor. They taste really delicious so I would recommend trying. I hope they would have a bit more options for example less deep fried stuff. Service is really good too! There weren't many people when we walked in. Decoration is cute. read more

The first few times I went there I was happy. The atmosphere was welcoming, ramen descent and price acceptable. And then I stop going because my last rather unpleasant experience. I passed by with a big bag of grocery and was suddenly craving for ramen. I walked in, the place was full and two people were already waiting there for a table. I hesitated for a moment if I wanted to wait and two more people came and the doorway was jammed so I decided to stay. Judging from my experience of dining alone, I thought it wouldn't be long especially they have bar sitting and I soon would find out that it was a mistake. The first minute or so I was inside, no one bothered to greet me so I had to signal the waitress and asked how long would I be waiting( I didn't really care, just wanted the waitress to notice they've got another customer). I just stood there with my heavy grocery bag and my arm was tired, I had to put it by the booth where some other customers were eating for it was the best place I could find to sit my bags without blocking the entrance. Still, no one seemed to care and maybe found me some space behind the reception desk for my bag, while even I felt a little embarrassed as the customer sitting in the booth sliding and squeezing out past my grocery. 10 minutes after, the two came in before me had seats and another 10 minutes after two seats became available and the waitress just led the couple behind me to the seat without even bother to explain to me why I was skipped in the line or reassured me that I would be seated soon. Just NOTHING, the whole 30mins I waited there we only exchanged one conversation that I started. I was pissed and if the pho place next door was open or I didn't have the grocery that prevented me from walking one more blocks to other restaurants where there were noodles or pastas, I would've left. However, I waited some other 5 minutes and finally got seated. The experience wasn't turning around from there, the waitress handed me a menu and left, I waited 5minutes for my water and someone to take my order. It took another 20minutes for my ramen to arrive and I wasn't attended to by any of the staff meanwhile. And after I finished, I waited another 5 minutes for someone to take the plates away and brought me my check. I left them 10% tip and "Everything was too SLOW!" in the recipt which I think was the most polite thing I could say at that moment. read more

Love this place! The decor is so much fun and the food is flavorful. I will definitely be back.

New gem in town. Best ramen in DC. Brilliant. Kimchee ramen was done superbly with crispy tofu and with just the right blend of spices. Spicy but not too hot. The curry ramen was hotter but super tasty. Kani salad was fresh and very flavorful. Leo Thai beer was great. Very friendly, diligent and prompt service. Need to go back. read more
