Pulling in, it looks like all the other rest stops in Michigan that I've been to, so nothing different here. But, I will say, this one was really clean and pretty! Plenty of flowers throughout, freshly cut grass and no garbage from what I could see. The bathrooms here are in pretty good shape, and they have a few vending machines in the lobby area if you need something to drink or snack on. What I really liked has they even had a coffee machine. Nice! Also, there's plenty of picnic tables and some charcoal bbqs if you need to stay for longer and make something to eat while on the road. They have courtesy dog runs as well if your pets need to get out and stretch their legs as well. Overall, a nice clean pit stop. Easy in, easy out.

Located just before you get to the Lansing area, it makes for perfect timing after traveling a ways from the Canadian border. The building is maintained to impeccable standards. It is newer and laid out well. Refreshments are available in the vending machines inside the building at either end. With ample parking on both sides of the building, easy access is afforded for all who stop. A word of warning to those who utilize the big-rig lot - as with most rest areas in the state, it fills up during the evening hours and you might find yourself scrambling to park along the sides. It is not unusual to see trucks stretched out along the exit and entrance ramps here. A great stop that I make here often.

(Grin!)…read more Okay, the ramps to and from the expressway are in need of repair, but otherwise, this rest area located on the edge of Lansing is very well designed and maintained by their staff to the highest level of cleanliness. The parking areas provide plenty of room for transient travelers, be they common 4-wheelers or RVers and big-rigs. All will find space enough to rest from their journey. Vending machines are situated inside the rest room facility, and at $1.50 for soft drinks, they provide for a quick refreshment at a moderate price.

The atmosphere was peaceful, with just a few cars there, so it wasn't busy at all. We used the bathroom and grabbed some Starbursts and a bottle of water from the vending machine. I was a bit nervous about what the bathroom would be like, but I was pleasantly surprised--it was very clean! They even had ice cream bars in the vending machines, which was a nice bonus. If you're on the road near Grand Ledge and need a clean bathroom or a quick snack, I'd definitely recommend stopping at Grand Ledge Rest Area 825!

So of course, we stopped and used the bathroom and the dog was able to use the dog run plus get some fresh cold water. I sensed I was in no mans land and saw this rest stop quickly come up on the expressway. What also prompted me to stop at this one was the fact that the sign said next rest stop 43 miles?!?! Really Michigan, DO BETTER. UGH. Especially if you're driving at night and nothings open, or at the crack of down, stuff can happen in 43 miles, ya know? Anyway, so I pull in and there's a fair amount of people here doing their thing. Several places to sit and barbeques available if you want to cook something to eat. There's grassy area if you want to let the dog out, which people were doing. Inside it's like every other rest stop that I've been to around here. Ample clean bathrooms and vending machines with maps. *but* what I really loved about this one, is they have a coffee/tea vending machine! YES. Bonus points for this because I really needed a pick me up. All drinks are $1.50 which is actually really good. They have coffee, obviously, but they also have tea and a few others as well. They have pop machines along with snacks as well, but I give bonus points for the coffee because at the others I've stopped at, they don't always have them. Bathrooms were clean, and parking was good. The rest stop seemed reasonably clean and well stocked, and had two entrances which was very convenient. Would stop here again in a heartbeat.

It was later in the day however, so I just chalked it up to the amount of people using it, and thought maybe it hadn't be cleaned since this morning. However, after entering the bathroom, it was disgusting. The walls were dirty, the stalls had stains, and the toilets appeared as if they hadn't been cleaned since they were first put in. There was no soap in the hand dispensers, all four or so of them, the water was freezing, and the dryers were the only things that actually worked. It was a gross experience. I would rather go in the woods than this rest stop.

I came to Michigan unexpectedly due to a family emergency. I arrived late at the hotel, past…read more9:30pm, and had hoped to just get to my room and go to sleep. The first room I was given had hairs everywhere on the sheets, dirt smudges on the covers, and disgusting skin flakes everywhere. The second room I was moved to had hairs everywhere and little spiders in the sheets (see attached picture for one of the spiders I saw). I went down to the front desk and asked if house cleaning could change the sheets, or if I could be moved to another clean room. The front desk lady told me they had no house cleaning on staff at that time, and that she did not want to go up to the rooms and make sure the next one I got was clean. She then recommended I go somewhere else to spend the night. Management has refused to provide a refund, even though I did not spend the night and was essentially told to go somewhere else by their own staff. I will be disputing the charge but wanted to warn people of the service they may receive while they are here. I had an absolutely awful experience, am still trying to get my money back, and will never visit this location again.

I'm from out of town and didn't know the location…read more When I drove to the hotel, it wasn't what I expected so I called the front desk and asked if I could cancel my reservation without a charge. I was told it's fine to cancel. Don't worry about it. Cancel my reservation at 12 o'clock. Now on January 29 I receive a charge on my credit card for my room stay and late cancellation. Called the hotel and the representative I spoke to was very nice. She said that she was given orders to tell everyone that's company policy and no cancellations are allowed before 24 hours.
