Chelsea House Victorian Inn

So you know that warm fuzzy feeling you got when you stayed at your grandma or grandparents house?…read more This place exudes something special. Almost like stepping back in time to when life was simpler. Definitely has an old world charm. Can't say it's for everyone, especially if you like a more modern vibe. But if you're like us, this inn is like an oasis in a hectic world. This is only our first night here and I couldn't wait to write how I felt. Will check back at the end of our stay... So my wife and I are back home now, looking forward to visiting Chelsea and the Victorian House once again. This time without the distraction of a show we were attending. Our stay was fabulous, and Andy and Nancy made us feel truly at home and accommodated our unorthodox schedule. They also were able to acquire two front row tickets to a sold out play at the Purple Rose Theatre, a wonderful and memorable experience. Definitely worth looking into if you're staying. Also the Common Grill (hope that's right), around the corner, is fine dining at its best and anything but common. Would say they specialize in seafood. The fact that people drive up from Ohio to eat here should be an indicator of the quality of food. Breakfast at the Inn was superb as well, a delicious and healthy way to start the day. To wrap up, as I mentioned earlier, we can't wait to visit Chelsea again and stay at this charming bed and breakfast. And thank you to Andy and Nancy for making our stay so special.

We would consider staying here again but next time we would email with a request as a reminder of the pillow case. We enjoyed how close everything was from here and that made it so much more enjoyable.

My husband and I recently stayed the night here after attending a wedding near by. The check in…read morearea is updated, bright, and clean. The rooms are also updated and clean. We stayed in the very first room, closest to the road. Everything was fine until the middle of the night when I heard someone talking and it sounded like they were actually in our room. It was the room next door. We could hear them talking, and could hear every word they were saying. Luckily we had a noise maker to turn on so we could drown out the noise. In the morning, it was also very loud and we could hear all the cars driving by on the main road. The bed was large and spacious, but when we woke up, we were pretty sore from sleeping on it all night. Its not a typical hotel, as it doesn't have a pool, breakfast, etc. but it was very clean, which is hard to find in a hotel sometimes so I will give them that.

This was cleaner than a lot of the hotels I've been in. The woman at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful. We didn't check in until about 7pm and she let us know right away that if we needed anything, the office was closing at 9pm (which was helpful for the second night). Our room was across the parking lot from the reception area and on the first floor. The motel was booked, as we stayed during a holiday weekend and there was a large family staying there for a wedding. Everyone was friendly and respectful. It was quiet at night, so no problems with noise. The room was impeccably clean and well-stocked. The pillows were quite comfy, which is saying something as I've been unable to find a pillow that both supports and is comfortable since my spinal fusion. The bathroom was very spacious and we had room to have one of us in the shower, another using the facilities, and another using the sink. Our only complaint was that the motel placed a $100 hold on the card for incidentals on top of the room charges, which caused issues with our credit union. Other than that, highly recommended!
