The first room I was given had hairs everywhere on the sheets, dirt smudges on the covers, and disgusting skin flakes everywhere. The second room I was moved to had hairs everywhere and little spiders in the sheets (see attached picture for one of the spiders I saw). I went down to the front desk and asked if house cleaning could change the sheets, or if I could be moved to another clean room. The front desk lady told me they had no house cleaning on staff at that time, and that she did not want to go up to the rooms and make sure the next one I got was clean. She then recommended I go somewhere else to spend the night. Management has refused to provide a refund, even though I did not spend the night and was essentially told to go somewhere else by their own staff. I will be disputing the charge but wanted to warn people of the service they may receive while they are here. I had an absolutely awful experience, am still trying to get my money back, and will never visit this location again.

Overall, this room was fine for a business traveler, but I really wouldn't want to stay here with my wife. It's just a room, nothing special. With that being said, I would stay here again while on business.

An older gentleman, who may have been the bartender, came to our table and gave us an oral history of the building, its owners and various quirks. The only drawback was all the stairs. It's not ADA accessible getting to and from the pub, where we had our reservations. There was a full flight of stairs to go down from the main floor. It was recommended that we leave through the back door to avoid the stair case. Outside, on the terrace, there were some low steps and no handrail to get to the path leading to the parking lot. No one using a wheelchair or walker can access the pub. The building itself, the decor, and outside grounds are beautiful. The gardens are lovely.

We went to the pub side of the restaurant and it was small but also the feel of walking into a pub in England! The staff was so courteous, knowledgeable, and on it!! I ordered the prime rib dinner and my friend ordered the fish and chips. You really felt like you were in England enjoying the amazing food! We opted out on desserts (we had dessert at the hotel waiting for us). I would highly recommend this place if you're passing through. Everyone appeared to take pride in their work and the property was well maintained. I had to extend one of my reservations, and the hotel staff accommodated my father and me with no problem. I also appreciated that there was no overnight parking fee, which is always a nice bonus. The location was very convenient. It was within walking distance of Joe's on Jolly, and there is a Starbucks directly in front of the property. If I ever need to return to this area of Michigan, I will definitely stay at this Courtyard location again. I had a great experience and would happily recommend it!

The beds were fine enough that I slept on one for two nights and rather than have the housekeeping come in, I simply switched to the other for the other two nights. Breakfast was standard Hampton. Eggs or a pre-made omelet of some sort, a breakfast meat, breads for toasting, yogurts, fruit, juices and some pastries. The breakfast area was clean. Other than sharing a small plaza with a Denny's and a gas station/pizza place, there is nothing within walking distance. There is lots in downtown Marshall that's only a mile or two away. I identified myself as part of the funeral group and was assured that I'd get the funeral discount. I was charged $188.71. I was told that it was higher because there was going to be a third person at time of booking. My son decided to take his own room and was charged $179. We told the staff at check in that we would only have 2 people in the room and to adjust the rate. She said it was taken care of. The next day on checkout, my wife asked for a receipt. She took the receipt and put it in her bag and didn't look at it for days. She later discovered that she was handed a receipt for a different person and that it had zeros in all of the fields. After getting the run around from the manager for several days, I reached out to the corporate office. They responded that I would get an e-mail from the executives at the hotel within 3 to 5 business days. 8 business days have now elapsed with another failed promise. This was a terrible experience on a terrible day. You would like to take the hotels concern that they would take care of your group and not use the distraction to gouge your family. I found out later that the rates were cheaper on travelocity and there wouldn't have been any of this back and forth for which there is still no resolve. Good luck with Marriott! By the way, we found out the morning of the funeral that the coffee maker didn't work, so we had to buy coffee.

We stayed in the very first room, closest to the road. Everything was fine until the middle of the night when I heard someone talking and it sounded like they were actually in our room. It was the room next door. We could hear them talking, and could hear every word they were saying. Luckily we had a noise maker to turn on so we could drown out the noise. In the morning, it was also very loud and we could hear all the cars driving by on the main road. The bed was large and spacious, but when we woke up, we were pretty sore from sleeping on it all night. Its not a typical hotel, as it doesn't have a pool, breakfast, etc. but it was very clean, which is hard to find in a hotel sometimes so I will give them that.

It was quiet at night, so no problems with noise. The room was impeccably clean and well-stocked. The pillows were quite comfy, which is saying something as I've been unable to find a pillow that both supports and is comfortable since my spinal fusion. The bathroom was very spacious and we had room to have one of us in the shower, another using the facilities, and another using the sink. Our only complaint was that the motel placed a $100 hold on the card for incidentals on top of the room charges, which caused issues with our credit union. Other than that, highly recommended!

They need to hire a cleaning company. Dust, cobwebs, dead ladybugs everywhere. Hair in the shower, dirty dishes in the sink, bathroom garbage almost full (when we checked in). Our group has been to dozens of bed and breakfasts and have never had to go through a budget line to eat. That's the beauty of going to a bed and breakfast - being served your food. For dinner she had 2 liters of warm pop on the counter (to serve yourself). We even had to ask for ice. The same 2 liters were there at lunch the next day. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered dinner from the nearby golf course the next day (which was frustrating because we had paid for our meals for the weekend). We'll be taking our business elsewhere!
