This place has true character that you can tell they have put their heart and soul into with taste and class saving this building from dereliction and destruction. This is definitely NOT a bored housewife weekend warrior type of B&B who has filled this place with a mismatch of unfitting antiques and Pier One chotchke. Having had to travel for a good part of my career I have stayed in many B& B's. This place will stay in my top 10 for sure and definitely hope to make the pilgrimage at least once a year. The hostess and her husband are amazing people and in the conversations had you can tell they are very genuine and have a love for the place. I can only hope that their children take up the same affection and continue on. It would be a definite loss for Jonesville and anyone who is not experienced it.

The guest innkeeper, Rachel was amazingly available for questions throughout our entire stay. Nice restaurants close by and if you enjoy antique shops, there is a complex in Allen, MI, about 5 miles away. No matter what time of year you choose to stay here, it will be worth the trip. I cannot wait to return to this destination.

But he also offered waffles and french toast on occasion. The table was set nicely every morning and with a bowl of fruit. And honestly, some of the best fruit I've had in a long long time, it was fantastic. Tea, coffee, and orange juice was offered. There was a drink fridge and a water dispenser always available. We asked about the house's history and he taught us all about it, and he knew a lot. Really cool. He and his family live on the third floor. We stayed in Julia's room, the only downstairs room available which had its own porch door and key which was nice. The host was great with offering places to eat and places to see. Super helpful. There was a TV in our room (I think there's one in each room). No cable, but there is Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu signed in. Only cons were that the house smelled like dog (three Scottish Terriers) and the shower didn't get very hot. At least in the room I stayed in, there were heaters in the floor which was super nice and helped keep warm. Overall, great stay and we really enjoyed it!

It just makes me sad $118.00 a night Oct 7th 3 nights…read more I was so very excited to go here. Maybe too excited. ........ I thought I would just copy and paste what I wrote my mom and sister since it was true feelings at that moment. -Okay what would you do mom? I am very disappointed in our bnb. It is an historical house part of the underground railroad and I don't know what I was supposed to see. Being my first ever BNB. Nice owner that talks way too much and knows everything. Barefoot basketball shorts white tee-shirt. Un-kept. Again nice but ugh. So ..no real information about the place just his knowledge of all restaurants in the near fifty Mile radius. Cleanliness is an F. See photos. I felt uncomfortable in their place. Again was I expecting to much? $118 a night. Breakfast waffles and Bacon first morning , French toast second morning, with his wife and child at the table with us. Feeling like we were intruding on their personal life. I continue, couldn't open the bedroom window it was too hard too. The floors gross, the plug in sprayers all over, gagging. Had to unplug ours way to much. I believe they have so many because they don't clean all the time and have the Scotty dogs. Which they house in the dining room. I could smell dog walking from their dining room to the staircase everytime. They live on the third floor so not sure why their personal decor is mixed in the antique and period pieces ??? There spread all over the beautiful mantels and buffets.. See pictures. The owners have lived in it for 24 years it was run by the father. The son who was probably in his late middle 40's is running it now with his wife and their son. He has a lot of knowledge about the house he just never gets to it he talks about other things besides the house. I learned why that location and who Mr Munro was and what he did for the town . One room they hid slaves in. That's it. So bummed You could ask him about the house but then you'd end up sitting there talking to him for a long time about other things. Maybe he is bored talking about the house or even caring at this point. I did read reviews all the reviews were spectacular I just am very particular about gross hair on my feet when I'm walking through a bedroom. I also don't know what to expect from a BNB. Since it was a historical house and they do do tours with the house be expected to be decorated in a certain way or would you expect to have their personal collection of ceramics on the mantle? I'm feeling just very disappointed about my choice and the information and the cleanliness of it it makes me sad.

I honestly felt like I walked through a wardrobe into a Narnia world. The small sign at the drive was a bit tough to see, so as your map tells you you're close, slow down and look for the Bed and Breakfast sign. The vibe here is full on beautiful Pinterest, French countryside garden chateau. Everywhere you look there is something beautiful to see, from the outdoor pavilion to the stately rooms inside. The ivy covered buildings and gardens bursting with blooms are great backdrops for any photos. The wedding I attended was on a super hot, sunny June day, but there were plenty of amenities provided to guests to alleviate the heat: shade parasols, handheld electric fans, folding fans, and plenty of cold water. This was such a thoughtful touch and really helped make guests comfortable. The mansion in the background was a stunning view for the short but sweet ceremony. Once the ceremony concluded, we were greeted by staff members with water and wine and were directed to a courtyard for hors d'oeuvres and an outdoor bar. There were areas of shade from trees and umbrellas, which was a nice reprieve from the sun. The food was all perfectly arranged and the bacon wrapped date I had was a delicious sweet and savory bite! Molly and Jenn were pouring drinks with big smiles despite the heat. We were ushered into the main reception area -- a beautiful, airy, open pavilion -- by a tinkling dinner bell! Dinner was delicious and all staff members I interacted with were incredibly polite and professional. I was really blown away by the details and care put into this celebration at this amazing venue! Hopefully I can attend another wedding there someday. If you need a beautiful place to get married, look no further than Greencrest Manor.
