We came in and asked about specific dishes prior to placing order. We had 2 picky eaters who wanted meat and cheese nachos. Put in that order and got the bill and it had supreme. I let the waitress k ow she had charged us for the wrong thing. She said since she brought out a side of guacamole and sour cream on the side we had to be charged. For starters, I ordered the large guacamole dip (which are scoops of guacamole). For the pricing, it could be a little more and more of a "dip" form. It is still delicious and fresh. As an entree, I ordered the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas and they came out fresh and hot. I would definitely get these again! The food & service are always quite good at least for what I usually get,(I'm a fan of their Tamales & Enchiladas) and reasonably priced. The only real bad thing I can say is sometimes that place can get a bit loud. Not 'Rowdy',just loud enough that it could be hard to hold a conversion within the party/group you are with. (Note: I'm also partially deaf) An important note: They also have another location on Maple Ave in the Oak Lawn section of Dallas that is actually a bit bigger & better known in the region. I have eaten there,and many of the same things about the De Soto location are also true for this location,other than that one seems to be more popular with dating couples than the De Soto location. Myself & a friend of mine & his family (They're old West Dallas/Oak Cliff 'Texicans') have long had a friendly debate for years about which location is the best. They prefer the Maple Ave location. Yesterday I had dinner with my family at Ojeda's in Desoto. I ask my sister about this place and she said it was great. Well I didn't think so. It was my first time in. The service was great. Prices were good, but the food was just mediocre. I ordered chicken fajitas, rice and beans. The chips were okay however the salsa was tasteless and flavorless. The ambiance appears to be lacking. This place has not changed in 28 years! The staff remains friendly as ever. The food however is not that great. The place was decorated with plastic Mexican style flags of various colors. There was Spanish speaking music in the background that did not entice me to want to dance. I could have skipped lunch today but I was hungry. Come here if you must but do not expect much. I love that this place is extremely quick, consistently, in bringing out food orders. On different occasions, we ordered different food items, and all were brought out in less than five minutes... Plus they were fresh. My favorite here is the beef fajita taco. Their enchiladas didn't taste authentic to me... And left a lot to be desired. Granted, I'm comparing them to my abuela's cooking so the standard is high, but even still I wasn't too pleased. The chicken tacos were also not flavored. This was great Mexican food. The tortilla soup was AMAZING! The meal is more than enough to share. I swapped my refried beans for charro beans (soup style beans with the cut up hot dogs). Sounds weird, but it was so good. The place has a cute festive decor inside and a steady stream of customers. The service is also very fast. I waited about 8 minutes for my togo order to be prepared.
