After being sat ordered a pitcher of mango margaritas and well it was tasty however not a great alcohol content. Ordered a top shelf margarita as well and what a difference. Recommend to just order the individual margarita. Got the beef chile con carne enchiladas and the combo plate with a chicken enchilada, chicken flauta and a beef taco on the side. While in the area, I thought I'd try some good old Telmex for lunch. The pictures made it look like the place to try but unfortunately the taste isn't there. The service was great but the food tasted like an elementary school cafeteria made it. The salsa was like pasta sauce with an extra kick...weird. We came in and asked about specific dishes prior to placing order. We had 2 picky eaters who wanted meat and cheese nachos. Put in that order and got the bill and it had supreme. I let the waitress k ow she had charged us for the wrong thing. She said since she brought out a side of guacamole and sour cream on the side we had to be charged. I told her that's not what we ordered and she walked off. Not going to cause a scene. Paid the bill but let the hostess know that's pretty damn shady! When the server gets to the table, she's talking about how we have plastic silverware versus real silverware, and he said that the real silverware wasn't clean and it was still being washed.. My son-in-law had a Michelada and he said it was awesome also. Service was great. Environment was great. The food was subpar. Salsa had no flavor and had the consistency of tomato sauce. My mother and daughter ordered the sour cream, chicken enchiladas. They said all you could taste with the sour cream. There was no other taste with it. My son-in-law ordered the guiso de res and it tasted very bland. I had the fajita platter which I really don't think those were fajitas. It looked like some bistec. Been eating there for well over 30 yrs,closer to 40 truth be known,it was a favorite of my late parents and still is a favorite of mine. The food & service are always quite good at least for what I usually get,(I'm a fan of their Tamales & Enchiladas) and reasonably priced. Usually quite busy too, as they also have a bar & also is a place that a lot of people come to gather,many are families but some are not. The only real bad thing I can say is sometimes that place can get a bit loud. Not 'Rowdy',just loud enough that it could be hard to hold a conversion within the party/group you are with. (Note: I'm also partially deaf) An important note: They also have another location on Maple Ave in the Oak Lawn section of Dallas that is actually a bit bigger & better known in the region. I have eaten there,and many of the same things about the De Soto location are also true for this location,other than that one seems to be more popular with dating couples than the De Soto location. Myself & a friend of mine & his family (They're old West Dallas/Oak Cliff 'Texicans') have long had a friendly debate for years about which location is the best. They prefer the Maple Ave location. I prefer the De Soto one,though that's more of a matter of logistics as it's a quick & easy drive down Hampton Rd from my home in Central Oak Cliff. read more

I always enjoy getting to-go orders from here and decided to eat in this time. For starters, I had good customer service and the food was good as always. For starters, I ordered the large guacamole dip (which are scoops of guacamole). For the pricing, it could be a little more and more of a "dip" form. It is still delicious and fresh. As an entree, I ordered the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas and they came out fresh and hot. I would definitely get these again! Yesterday I had dinner with my family at Ojeda's in Desoto. I ask my sister about this place and she said it was great. Well I didn't think so. It was my first time in. The service was great. Prices were good, but the food was just mediocre. I ordered chicken fajitas, rice and beans. The chips were okay however the salsa was tasteless and flavorless. The ambiance appears to be lacking. We just moved to the area about two months ago, and have already visited this restaurant at least 3 times! The customer service is beyond amazing (for starters)! The food is delicious though! Each time we order something, it is just as good as the last time! My daughter loves enchiladas, and the sour cream enchiladas are her favorite. The Caldo de Res is delicious too! This place has not changed in 28 years! The staff remains friendly as ever. The food however is not that great. The place was decorated with plastic Mexican style flags of various colors. There was Spanish speaking music in the background that did not entice me to want to dance. I could have skipped lunch today but I was hungry. Come here if you must but do not expect much. I love that this place is extremely quick, consistently, in bringing out food orders. On different occasions, we ordered different food items, and all were brought out in less than five minutes... Plus they were fresh. My favorite here is the beef fajita taco. Their enchiladas didn't taste authentic to me... And left a lot to be desired. Granted, I'm comparing them to my abuela's cooking so the standard is high, but even still I wasn't too pleased. The chicken tacos were also not flavored. This was great Mexican food. The tortilla soup was AMAZING! The meal is more than enough to share. I swapped my refried beans for charro beans (soup style beans with the cut up hot dogs). Sounds weird, but it was so good. The place has a cute festive decor inside and a steady stream of customers. The service is also very fast. I waited about 8 minutes for my togo order to be prepared. We were given chips and salsa to start and we ordered the queso with it. It was a good queso. We got a chicken chimichanga and brisket tacos to share. The food came pretty fast and was it was amazing. The beans were some of the best I've ever had, a lot and so flavorful, the rice was okay. The chimichanga was out of this world just delicious and good size. The brisket tacos also tasted very good with the green sauce. It's priced a bit higher than most Mexican spots but it was worth it.
