We stopped by Oishii on a sushi craving and I wasn't expecting much from this little spot tucked away in a strip shop with a few other restaurants. I was very wrong. My sushi arrived on a cloud of dry ice and it was one of the prettiest sushi presentations I've ever seen. Was the dramatic entrance necessary? Probably not. Did I love it and take a million pictures? Absolutely. Thankfully, it wasn't just for show. The nigiri was fresh and the sushi was just as impressive as the presentation. Overall 12/10. Oishii Sushi Bar and Grill is a fairly new Japanese spot in this area. It is actually the previous location for Carmen's Burger which is how I discovered Oishii as I was planning to dine at Carmen's. Well I'm glad I found Oishii! This spot is located in the same lot as Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. Plenty of parking shared with other businesses. Oishii offers an AYCE (All You Can Eat) option but I didn't as I can't eat very much Lol So for this first visit, ordered the following items: ***3 items Bento dinner $36 Chicken katsu - 4/5 Mixed tempura - 5/5 Sashimi - 5/5 The chicken katsu and sauce were good. However the chicken pieces were very thin! A lot of the pieces just did not have much chicken meat. However the mixed sashimi (salmon, tuna, hamachi) and mixed tempura were delicious! For dessert, ordered an apple pie a la mode $8.50. Sooo good! 5/5 The staff were friendly and very courteous! Will visit again. read more

Our first visit for a late lunch. I wanted to try this conveniently located sushi place on our way to Santa Rosa shopping from Napa Valley. We both tried the all-you-can-eat menu option. I enjoyed everything, but my guy didn't. Good things: fish was fresh and tasty, service, waitress, menu options, and cleanliness of restaurant bathrooms. Not so good things: fish quality wasn't to his taste and was warmer than he preferred, cucumber in rolls was way too bitter (chef should check before using), too much rice on rolls, dinner menu rolls not included in lunch all you can eat price of $29+. I would recommend you try this place, but my hubby wouldn't. read more

AYCE was quite a memorable experience! The four of us were excited to try this new restaurant. They've been open about two months, same owner as the Oishii on Piner Road. Our server was Lizbeth, and she was outstanding. She checked on us regularly and was incredibly sweet and friendly who paced our food nicely. We were celebrating two birthdays today. I do not eat raw fish but I had plenty of other AYCE options to choose from. The other three people in our party loved all the sushi choices on the AYCE menu. The rolls came out beautiful so you can tell they are putting attention on presentation, which we appreciated. Our server took away platters and replaced with the subsequent order seamlessly. She was attentive and filled up my water glass six times. I told her next time they can just give me a larger glass. LOL! They were kind enough to bring out an ice cream and fried Oreo dessert for us to share. My first time eating a fried Oreo! The restaurant is clean and comfortable. We sat in a booth but if you have a larger group, they have additional seating upstairs. The owner showed us that there is another sushi station upstairs where seating would not be a problem for a bigger group or if you wanted to host a party. Parking can be tight with Yogurt Time and a couple other businesses but there is parking directly behind the restaurant too. Overall, a nice experience and my sushi eating fans said that the quality of the fish was very good. They clean tables and even refill the soy sauce after each customer leaves so the place looks inviting, neat and tidy. FYI: Oishii means delicious in Japanese. A friend thought it was pronounced O-ishi which means rock or stone. Too funny! read more

We finally have sushi in this shopping area and it is delicious. This is very exciting because it means I no longer have to drive across town when the sushi craving hits. Everything we tried was really good, the service was excellent, and the food came out fast. They also have booths, which I love. Booth seating just makes everything better. They offer all you can eat sushi, which I did not try this time, but I absolutely will on a future visit. I need to mentally and strategically prepare for that level of commitment. My favorite roll of the day was the Lava Roll, which was perfection. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it because I ate it immediately, which honestly tells you everything you need to know. The music was also an unexpected highlight. The playlist bounced from MC Hammer to U2 to Queen to Footloose to "Oh Mickey You're So Fine." I was singing along most of the time and my tablemates were very patient about it. They also have another location over on Marlow and recently expanded here. The atmosphere is nice, and clean. I was very impressed with the size of my unagi rolls, and the price. What I find interesting however, is the price of the caterpillar roll. The only difference was the avocado on top and the fake crab. It shouldn't cost double unless it's actually crab which it should be this time of year. First thing: The waitresses were absolutely lovely, service was good! But: I have never in my life gone out to sushi and received such an insultingly minuscule portion of fish. I can get over the bright white lighting and the TVs sushi does not need to be fancy... but to put a paper thin piece of fish on a California roll and call it a specialty roll is nuts. This is some of the most fresh and tasty sushi ever it taste like it's off the boat the ambience in this place is beautiful. The food is super fantastic and very tasteful. They have an all you can eat option which isn't a good in my opinion. I'm looking for quality not quantity. The sushi was slightly warmer than I'm used to. Freshness and taste was good despite the temperature. The spicy tuna hand roll wasn't spicy but was otherwise ok. I'm accustomed to Asian operated sushi restaurants but there were no Asian staff it felt odd. The food was ok, service was attentive and the staff friendly. Wow! This is their second location that just opened and we wanted to give it a try. We were so impressed with the set-up, especially upstairs - absolutely gorgeous!! There were lots of high chairs available, as well as boosters and a changing table in the bathroom. The food was excellent as always, and the staff was so kind. The owner stopped by the table to say hello too. This will be our new regular sushi place! Our kids shared the kids meal (portions are big!) and we each got all-you-can-eat sushi lunch. 10/10 would recommend! :) read more

Got sick after eating here. Very disappointed. I have enjoyed this business in the past, but not today! If you can't keep your fish and ingredients fresh, you should not serve it. I've been cooking for 48 years and as far as I know have never given anyone food poisoning. read more
