The food was good for my Birthday. But management's rules pertaining to our Got Spot coupon will cause us to never go back. We had a party of 9 people. Two of us had Got Spot Coupons we had purchased for half price (paid $12.50 for a $25 coupon). When we went up to pay our bill, they would only accept one customers coupon per table. If we had sat next to each other, only at separate tables, they would honor them. But, because we say at the "same" table, they would not. Our bill was over $600. I normally love this place! I've been here about a dozen times with my friends, family, and boyfriend. It's usually a wonderful experience but this past visit was a disaster. I have a weird (anaphylactic) allergy to lobster and scallops, but not shrimp (take it up with my allergist, I can't explain why). I ordered a side of hibachi shrimp with my meal to share with my boyfriend and we made it clear to both the server and chef that I had this allergy. The chef came to cook for us and confirmed my request to have the shrimp cooked separately from the lobster the couple next to us ordered. Long story short, while he prepared the seafood in separate areas- he cooked them at the same time with the same utensils. Like used his spatula to flip the lobster then the shrimp and vice versa. We spoke with management regarding this and while they did prepare a new side of shrimp for us for free; they were not apologetic at all. The owner came out, was like "what's the issue? is shrimp not the same as lobster?" and treated us as if we were a nuisance when they assured us they could accommodate my allergy request from the start! I didn't even eat any of the "new" shrimp because of how uncomfortable I was; epipens are expensive and having a reaction just isn't worth it. It was just very disheartening; my boyfriend and I come here almost every other weekend and always spend over a $100. We tip generously and have even recommended this place to our family and friends. The hibachi was the worst I've ever had, bad food prep, all the meats getting mixed together unintentionally, and worst of all: literally everything was given a huge glob of what the chef called "teriyaki" viscous gel. The chef also had no real control of his cookware and really shouldn't have been doing the broccoli toss at customers - he hit my wife in the eye and went on with his day. If you do end up going, the salad and soup were tasty, and the guy who looked like he only got fried appetizers seemed content, also they have Coke not pepsi. The salmon and scallops were excellently seasoned and cooked. The sushi roll was underseasoned but was otherwise fine. Everything was great until I went to the bathroom. As I was leaving, I saw an employee leave the bathroom without washing his hands. He then went back to work serving food. I found this beyond disgusting. Stumbled upon this place after a long day of traveling and decided to try it. Slightly dingy atmosphere. Ordered off the menu, did not do the hibachi experience. Service was quick but bad. Crab Rangoons were tough, waiter messed up my wine order, and both our entrees had more breading than protein. The owner was SO RUDE. We had a birthday party planned with a group of people, and we had reserved a large table. Some of us arrived half an hour early, but they wouldn't let us sit at the table. Most of the group showed up on time, but they refused to give us the table, saying we couldn't have it unless everyone was present. When the entire group finally arrived, 15 minutes after our reservation time, they had already given the big table to someone else. While we were waiting, I tried to ask if there were any vacant tables available, but the lady (I believe she's the owner's daughter) was incredibly rude and even asked, "Do you understand?" The man there also insisted we move from where we were standing, saying that being in front of the counter was bad for business. I cringe whenever my daughters ask to eat there. The food is fine but expensive. The minute I walk in and sit down I want to take Lysol wipes and wipe everything down from the walls to the salt/pepper shakers to the soy sauce. The entire place needs to be scrubbed down and deep cleaned. The booths & tables are in such bad shape that even if they are clean they still look dirty. Even the napkins are worn out and nasty! the front glass doors don't look like they've been cleaned since before COVID. Don't get me started on the bathrooms! I hosted a group of 5, two were over 90 years old with walkers. They gave no help or consideration to our special issues. When we were finally seated we saw the adjoining table enjoy the special effects one expects at a hibachi restaurant. That was the best of our experience. We got none of those from our chef, and our food was over cooked. Our bill was over $238 and our service was mediocre at best. I am regretting tipping over 23%. Don't bother with this place. Since I was there a year ago they have watered down their yum yum sauce, eliminated their meat sauce, lessened their portions but now it's mostly rice, and lowered their service level. Very unsanitary. This was probably the most disgusting hibachi place I've never been to. We went during lunch on a weekend so it was quite busy. The staff was not very thorough with cleaning the tables because when we got seated, I had to take out my Clorox wipes to clean my area. There was still sauce and rice leftover from previous customers. YUCK! This is are far from Japanese food as possible. I would of hoped the food would be good but nope - I watched the chef cook our meals by dumping heaps amount of soy sauce to literally every dish. The vegetables - soaked in soy sauce, the fried rice - soaked in soy sauce, and the meat, again, soaked in soy sauce. As a result, our food was EXTREMELY salty and we didn't even finish half of our meal. He also tried to make it into a show but in the end it seemed like he got lazy and just cooked the meal and left. We left pretty quickly since we barely ate our food. I ended up combining the leftovers and added more rice and vegetables to it to make it less salty. I was really craving sushi so I decided to head to Oishi on a whim on a Thursday night. I was definitely disappointed. I ordered the Pan-Pan noodles with chicken, a Philadelphia roll, and a Spicy Salmon Roll. The noodles did not taste crispy at all even though they looked crispy. They were chewy and the sauce that gather around the bottom made the noodles very soft and chewy. I had a hard time biting the noodles. An upside of this dish was that the chicken was cooked nicely and there were tons of veggies. The Philadelphia Roll was okay. I ultimately just tasted the cream cheese, which is okay for me because I like cream cheese. For the Spicy Salmon Roll, I was very disappointed. It definitely looked like a Spicy Salmon Roll, but when I bit into it, it was completely bland. I did not even taste the spiciness. All I got was a tasteless sauce with warm fish. A few good things: -The food was visually pleasing. -The service was good. The waitress refilled my drink consistently and didn't make me wait around for the check. -It wasn't busy when I walked in, but I don't understand why the food didn't taste better if there wasn't a back-up in the kitchen. All I can say is that I'm hoping this was just a off night for the kitchen and that the food gets better. I was very disappointed in the sushi. I'm torn making this review. I have always loved dining and eating at Oishi. The food and service has traditionally been great. We decided to order takeout for a change and it was a bit of a let down. The prices were still very high, but you receive much less food. They charge you if you want extra sauce despite it being free when you dine in. On top of this, the food is definitely not made to the same standard. The rice was bland, the shrimp was rubbery and the steak had no seasoning or flavor. We will not be ordering takeout from here again anytime soon. read more

I had ankle surgery and am using a knee scooter to get around since my right leg is in a cast and I can't put weight on it, and when I asked the waitress if I could have a seat on the end of the table, she looked at me like I'd grown a third arm, rolled her eyes, and I ended up asking the nice folks being seated next to us if we could please trade seats so I was at the corner - they saw my injury and willingly obliged. We enjoyed our meal, had drinks, did the birthday drum thing, and while my friend was still eating her dessert and I was still finishing my drink, we were rudely asked to hurry up and leave by another employee because there were people waiting for the table. I will think twice before I choose to go there again. I normally love hibachi but this was the first restaurant I've ever been to where I nearly cried I was so disappointed in the quality of the food. Everything was burnt and the rice was honestly pretty discussting (not sure how they managed that given the multiple cups of butter they added). My filet was burnt tasting and well done when I asked for medium rare and even my shrimp was chewy and bad. The cook also had zero enthusiasm and didn't do any tricks. The only saving grace was that our server was fast and gave good service and the alchol was pretty good. The server is the only reason I gave two stars otherwise this would be a -1. One waitress came and say "next time please tip above 18%. I know no tip in China, but This is United States. If u wanna good food and good service u need to pay more. Restaurant review I was a little concern by the other reviews. It appears that management should look into customer service because those reviews are pretty bad. We can in for lunch and had the Sushi and sashimi for 2 which had 8 pieces of sushi, 14 pieces of sashimi, and one roll of the crunchy spicy salmon, eel avocado, and toro dynasty roll. The pieces of sashimi are smaller than Sakanaya, but more of them. The rolls again were a few pieces. For 45 dollars this is cheaper than Sakanaya. The fish appeared fresh and was tasty served on a decorative platter with ice and lights. Overall I was happy with the meal and it was enough food for 2 people, but I can see why people may have issues with customer service here. There are also a variety of lunch specials with hibachi which are only 10 dollar. We did not end up trying those items, but it seems like a good deal. Pros: sushi for 2 option, hibachi lunch specials, fresh fish Cons: customer service appears to be a low priority here Hidden deals: Lots of inexpensive lunch specials for around 10 dollars for hibachi. I miss the buffet! I went here with my boyfriend really wanting the buffet that I had here forever ago and I was so sad to walk in and see that it was gone! They replaced it with a bunch of teppan tables, which yeah, that's cool and all but 1. I didn't want to eat there because we were kind of under a time crunch and 2. I didn't want to smell like fryer food (except for I did anyway, boo). 3. If I wanted good teppanyaki I'd go to Kamakura. After I got over my initial disappointment, I ordered some curry. The seafood in it was good, but there was seriously ZERO curry sauce in it. My bowl of white rice that came with it served no purpose due to the lack of sauce, it was a bummer. I will say though that my boyfriends sushi was really good. I totally should've ordered that.
