The work was done in mid-October -- Statement came dated December 31 -- and it arrived in mail early January -- and was marked Past Due. I had to call them to come back early November for a switch that fell off (that switch had been fine before they came in October) and I was charged a second service fee. They reduced a portion of it after I complained but people shouldn't have had to complain. It should have been right the first time. What about all those people who don't complain. I will definitely never hire them again.

This guy takes dangerous shortcuts and is proud of it, milks jobs and promises to come back and fix…read morethe holes he made in my walls but does not show up. Another electrician told me what Dan did to my electric panel is unacceptable. Not to mention he talks way too much and fritters away time gabbing about his life and opinions. One of the jobs I hired him for was to install a smart dimmer switch and new wafer light. He told me since there is no ceiling fan I did not really need the neutral wire WRONG (smart dimmer switches must have the neutral properly connected for the switch to work correctly) so he did some kind of (not up to code) looping of it to the switch behind it. The light has never worked right and has now died 5 or 6 years after the install, should have lasted 20 years but due to his lack of knowledge of smart devices and willingness to not follow code so I had to replace the light and hired a real electrician who knows about smart devices to fix the neutral wire in the smart dimmer switch. You are taking your chances with this guy...

When we bought our house twenty years ago, one name kept coming up whenever I asked people about an…read moreelectrician. Krantz. Unfortunately, my old house has knob and tube and for any new fixtures etc we've had to call people out since it's against code (and just plain unsafe) to mess with knob and tube. Knob and tube doesn't work like newer wiring and there's no rhyme or reason why it goes where it does. THAT would be why the guy was banging on Sally's walls. He was trying to figure out the run pattern and where the wiring actually was. They are the only electrician I have used and they have also been great with my clients I recommended them too (I'm a realtor and know many tradespeople). As with anything on here, ymmv, but I don't think it's fair to hit a small family-owned business (at least two generations, maybe three) for something just because you don't understand the specifics of what they are doing. They treat their people well, do great work, and I'm having them back to my house in a few days to give me a quote for removing all of the knob and tube. Isn't that what's supposed to matter? How they actually are doing their job? It's also a Union shop which is important to me, although I've found their prices to be closer to the non-union shops in town. I endorse them heartily, and without reservation.
