The community at RMF has been so inclusive and welcoming of myself and everyone I've seen come through the doors over the years. Learning aerials has allowed me to feel strong and confident in a way I never had before while having a ton of fun in a great space. All the coaches are great, patient, kind, and put safety first in everything they do. Jeanette, the owner, is wonderful and made me feel comfortable and welcome. I started by taking her Aerial Fitness Bootcamp class which definitely kicked my butt. From there I moved on to the Aerial Dance all levels class on Saturdays and the Aerial Conditioning w/ Emily on Thursday mornings. Both are awesome. I get a great workout while also attempting amazing feats with my body. Two months in, I have a pretty solid foundation of basic skills and am fairly amazed at the progress that I've made. Whether I want to continue recreationally or to be able to perform someday I know anything is possible with the resources available here. I would recommend this place to anyone, beginner all the way to expert. The space is great, the teachers are friendly, encouraging, very knowledgeable and inspiring, and working in the air is absolutely one of the best ways to get a fabulous workout while also learning incomparable jaw-droppingly cool skills.

At the other places I've been (not naming names, as I'm sure they're fine at what they specialize in), the instructors will show you how to do a move and then shrug if you can't do it. Here, they'll show adjustments or a previous progression and help you figure out how to do a move with patience and encouragement, and they won't leave you adrift feeling like you can't do something and not know why. They have a number of different classes and you can cross train as much as you want! I have found joy in trying new apparatuses and challenging my body in different ways! Start with the 1 class package to see if you enjoy it - but once i did 1 class i was addicted! I easily do 3/4 classes a week! BE WARNED - you will get bruises and be sore, but its one of the most rewarding experiences ever! All the teachers are wonderful! Celeste is my go to lyra hoop teacher. Jen, Jenn, Christina, Amy are my go to pole teachers now that im more advanced! Mei is my favorite beginner pole teacher and now teaches mostly at the new SJ location. Lisa, Debbie and Jen also have amazing heels choreo classes! Andy is my chair/sensual heels teacher and always brings the heat! Cindy and Rissa will get you flexible in no time! And Luna is an amazing hammocks teacher and performer! Jen fosters a welcoming community and truly cares about each student that comes through the studio. She runs the studio more like a friend group that fosters encouragment and positivty throughout the business.

The first half of the class was a bit tough for me to get a hold of everything as these were new techniques to me but Claire was very kind and helpful to me and everyone else, fixing our form and helping us when we got stuck. Towards the second half of the class, it became super fun and relaxing towards the end. Highly reccomend and will be back :)

They helped me overcome my fear step by step, and now I'm confidently challenging myself with more advanced aerial dance. For a calmer practice, Teacher Junting's yoga classes are amazing--they help me unwind and find inner balance after a busy workday. If you're looking for something more dynamic, I highly recommend their Aerial Yoga and Aerial Dance, which are rare to find in the Bay Area. I took a beginner pole class with my friend, and from the start, Erika at the front desk made us feel so welcome. She gave us a quick tour and shared such kind, encouraging words, which really helped calm those "trying something new" nerves. Our instructor, Louise, was phenomenal. She kept the energy up the entire class, checked in on everyone, and made sure we all felt supported with hands-on guidance when needed. I'll be honest, I have zero rhythm and dancing does not come naturally to me, but I had SO much fun. What really stood out was the community. Everyone was so sweet and supportive, and even the other girls in class were offering tips and cheering each other on. My friend and I will definitely be back, it was such a blast.
