I started by taking her Aerial Fitness Bootcamp class which definitely kicked my butt. From there I moved on to the Aerial Dance all levels class on Saturdays and the Aerial Conditioning w/ Emily on Thursday mornings. Both are awesome. I get a great workout while also attempting amazing feats with my body. Two months in, I have a pretty solid foundation of basic skills and am fairly amazed at the progress that I've made. Whether I want to continue recreationally or to be able to perform someday I know anything is possible with the resources available here. I would recommend this place to anyone, beginner all the way to expert. The space is great, the teachers are friendly, encouraging, very knowledgeable and inspiring, and working in the air is absolutely one of the best ways to get a fabulous workout while also learning incomparable jaw-droppingly cool skills.

Every time I come here I am amazed by the wide range of people I see here. All ages & all body types with varying levels of experience. There is no reason to feel awkward or out of place and I love that. This is a place I tell my friends about. I look forward to swinging by every time I'm in town.

They have a number of different classes and you can cross train as much as you want! I have found joy in trying new apparatuses and challenging my body in different ways! Start with the 1 class package to see if you enjoy it - but once i did 1 class i was addicted! I easily do 3/4 classes a week! BE WARNED - you will get bruises and be sore, but its one of the most rewarding experiences ever! All the teachers are wonderful! Celeste is my go to lyra hoop teacher. Jen, Jenn, Christina, Amy are my go to pole teachers now that im more advanced! Mei is my favorite beginner pole teacher and now teaches mostly at the new SJ location. Lisa, Debbie and Jen also have amazing heels choreo classes! Andy is my chair/sensual heels teacher and always brings the heat! Cindy and Rissa will get you flexible in no time! And Luna is an amazing hammocks teacher and performer! Jen fosters a welcoming community and truly cares about each student that comes through the studio. She runs the studio more like a friend group that fosters encouragment and positivty throughout the business.

I've been coming to Inspiration Studios for many years now, and it's one of my favorite places to…read moretrain and unwind. They offer both Pole and Aerial classes, each with their own vibe and energy. Pole classes are held in Suite N and tend to have a bolder, more expressive atmosphere. Aerial classes are in Suite O and are usually calmer and more focused on flow and form. Make sure you head to the correct suite depending on your class. When you arrive, just check in with the instructor, or follow the lead of others in the room. Some instructors like to check everyone in personally, while others are more casual about it. It's a no-shoes kind of space. For Aerial, you're usually barefoot or in socks. For Pole, you're either barefoot or in heels depending on the class. I've taken a variety of classes over the years, but these days I'm more focused on Aerial. I especially want to shout out KC, who is my favorite instructor. She's clear, encouraging, and just a great teacher overall. Her classes are the perfect mix of supportive and challenging, and I always leave feeling stronger and more confident. I've been a student since the studio was called Poletential, back when it was under different ownership. It's been great to see the space evolve while still staying a welcoming and empowering place to train.

My friend and I came here for a static trapeze class this past weekend on a Friday evening…read more The location is a little tucked away in the center of a business plaza but we both got here early and there's plenty of parking around so wasn't an issue. We were both complete beginners to trapeze so it was going to be an experience to start. I think overall it was very interesting and the other people who were in the class were definitely expert level including our instructor who was absolutely phenomenal in perfecting his craft. I think there were a few drawbacks that would prevent us from coming back here which include: 1) The instructor got quite frustrated/visibly upset at us when I fell after trying to balance myself. It was a bit odd because as beginners, we're there to learn, make mistakes and build confidence especially in an environment completely new for the both of us. We felt like it was unprofessional side and both def felt discouraged even though we laughed it off in person. We are both grew up in the dance community, so we know how toxic it can be to have teachers like this who react out of frustration vs support but we're not children anymore who are actively trying to hurt ourselves. I think it's entirely possible for this place to enforce safety without snapping at or shaming students. 2) This place COVID vaxx checks still. My friend and I have no issue with showing this as we're we've both got this done plus boosters since the start of the pandemic. It's a business' respective choice to ask for this 100% but it did feel a little outdated given it's the Summer of 2025 and we both haven't had to show proof of this in over 3 years. I'm still glad we tried this together and though we will likely never come back, I hope future classes foster a more positive and welcoming tone, especially for first-timers!

My daughter started when she was 3 at their super fun and creative summer camp programs. The following fall we signed up for a weekly ballet class and by that winter my girl was dancing in her first big time performance in their production of the Nutcracker. I continue to be impressed by the professionalism of this dance school. They are extremely organized and the administrative side of their business is excellent. The productions they put on in the winter and the spring are amazing. The dancers are so good! I am continually impressed by the kids' performances. What prompted me to sit down and write a review today is the performance my kids put on for my husband and me this morning. Out of nowhere the three of them informed us we'd be watching their production of the Nutcracker. Kitchen chairs were arranged for the "audience" and we were given tickets and instructed where to sit. What followed was a multi (like 9!) act performance of the Nutcracker. My daughter playing all lead roles (Harlequin Doll, Clara, Snow Queen, Arabian, Mother Ginger, Sugar Plum Fairy, Clara again) and her brothers shining as backup performers - Nutcracker, Rat King, Mice, Arabians, the Chinese Dragon, Gingersnaps, Flowers etc.. It was amazing. I realized during this performance that even though it is only my 5 year old taking classes and performing at IAD, her siblings are benefitting from what she's doing there as well. My sons surprised me with how accurately they acted out parts of the play. My 7 year old shaking his leg as he "died" while playing the Rat King, and my 3 year old running around Mother Ginger, refusing to go back under her skirt. Our whole family is learning so much from this school and I am literally filled with JOY when I watch my kids perform together - now at home and on stage. This is not just a dance school but a community that is really a family. Over these last three years I have seen them come together to support staff who are going through difficult times, celebrate dancer's achievements, encourage staff to grow and thrive with opportunities both inside and outside of IAD, and show so much gratitude to the volunteers and families that help make IAD so wonderful. Thank you IAD for bringing so much Joy to Santa Cruz county!
