I should've left this review years ago but today I learned that the Dentists continue to verbally…read moreabuse and behave aggressively towards the children. 21 years later and they continue to take advantage of their patients. This is my story but there are other horror stories from people in my surrounding communities. Monterey, Seaside, and Salinas. Central Coast Pediatric Dental Group is the reason for my trauma. It took me years and years to recover from it. My mother brought me here for Sedation when I was 4 years old in 2005 and had ALL my teeth covered in silver caps. I was given a small cup with a liquid solution to drink before the procedure and according to my mother they had me waiting for a while because Dr. Murillo was helping other patients. While I waited for them to be ready my relaxer was wearing off and my mother was starting to get worried that it would have no effect on me. Dr. Murillo behaved very unprofessionally and shouted at my mother for expressing her concerns. When they took me to the back they put me on a papoose board and I felt every part of the procedure and began to cry because it was excruciatingly painful. I was in so much pain and discomfort and one of the Dentist's shouted at me and said "Be quiet!"and would cover my mouth with their hands to keep me quiet. They rolled me out on a wheelchair through the back door and all I remember is heavily crying and feeling terrified. 2 years ago my niece went in for sedation and said to me "aunty they were so mean to me". I had Flashbacks and knew she wasn't lying to me because I lived through that. The truth has come to light and I am here to be the voice of those children and their families. There are many stories about this place on yelp and Google reviews. Please do not bring your kids to this horrific place.

Our whole family recently made the switch over to Salinas Dental Health and have been SO pleased…read morewith our experience. There is little to no wait time upon arriving at our scheduled appointments. Appointments are quick and easy. Every single staff member we engaged with is warm and knowledgeable. A huge win for us is that our kids (11, 8 - we hope to get our 4 year old in soon) all feel really comfortable and at ease when being seen here. We've seen all the dentists and they're all equally great! Their team is always up front and transparent with their findings and if there's any intervention needed, we never feel forced into anything and the front desk is always happy to give pricing/quotes while explaining exactly what's getting billed for. Our 11 year old recently had to get 4 extractions (due to having a small mouth and ortho requested to get them extracted) and Dr. Coe was the GOAT. It was our son's first experience at the dentist for extractions and general anesthesia, and he said he didn't feel anything at all! Dr. Coe (and the whole staff honestly) walked us through everything, made our son feel safe, secure, and seen. What more can you ask for? We anticipate being part of the practice for many many years!

My children have been coming to this dental group for many years. The appointment waiting period…read morewas often horrendous but staff was typically very professional. When the Seaside office closed, all the families living on the Peninsula were forced to travel to Salinas. This was not always convenient. I am a single mom of three, working, going to school full time and recently deemed disabled. My doctors appointments began to multiply and I had to take time off work, resulting in late payments of rent and bills, and had no family in the area to help me with my children. Unfortunately, getting my three children from Pacific Grove to Salinas was often beyond my abilities due to both finances and my disability. Our insurance is great in that they offer free rides to doctors appointments, however, that still meant additional time missed from work and school and if I were in medical flare up, I was unable to leave my home. This left me with making difficult choices for the whole family which often meant we we're only able to see doctors on an emergency or urgent basis. In the beginning of June I called to schedule an appointment for one of my children to have her teeth cleaned before we moved from the area (to be closer to help). The woman I spoke with on the phone was anything but helpful. In a tone reserved for those who have somehow wronged another, she reminded me of all our cancelled or rescheduled appointments. It was as though she took our absence personal and felt the need to make me feel like an even bigger failure for not taking care of my children's oral health. Even though my daughter was still under the accepted patient age, she refused to schedule her for a cleaning because "the whole practice has decided to not allow it". As a disabled mother, the way this staff member treated me, and repeatedly implied I am not properly taking care of my children, was heartbreaking. I hope she never makes another parent feel as low as I did on that day. Even if we hadn't moved, I would have taken my children elsewhere - a different county if I had to - if it meant never supporting this practice again. Shaming a parent for doing their best (even if it doesn't look like it from your end) is never an appropriate, much less professional, way to conduct oneself or business.

I was on the hunt for a new dental home after my longtime dentist retired, and I'm SO glad I found…read moreSalinas Valley Dental Care! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in good hands. I'll be honest--walking into a new dental office made me a little nervous, but Darci (the assistant) was so warm and welcoming. She gave me a quick little tour and totally helped ease my nerves. It honestly felt like visiting a friend's office! Dr. Goldman was amazing--super knowledgeable and took the time to go over everything with me. She even complimented the onlays and veneers I had done previously, which made me feel like she really noticed the details. AJ, my hygienist, was also fantastic. He was so professional and made me feel completely at ease while taking my oral records. He asked thoughtful questions about my dental habits and even gave me a few helpful flossing tips I hadn't heard before. Plus, the office is beautiful and fully equipped with modern technology and little touches that remind me of my old dentist's place (which I loved). It's also super convenient with my work schedule--huge bonus! If you're looking for a dental office that's professional and personal, I highly recommend Salinas Valley Dental Care. They're officially my new favorite place for that fresh, clean teeth feeling.

My daughter had dental work done at this office that was expected to last at least five years,…read moreaccording to our dental insurance, but it failed in less than one year. When the work fell out, I contacted the office to let them know there was a problem. Because we had since moved out of state and our insurance would not cover the repair, I asked what options might be available. I was told the only way they would address the issue was if I returned to their office in California so they could examine it themselves. Unfortunately, flying back to California would have cost as much as simply paying to have the repair done by a dentist where I now live. I also asked for the dentist who performed the work to call me back, but I never received a call. The lack of follow-through and unwillingness to stand behind their work was very disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not return to this office, even if I moved back to the area!!

Do not come here! To start off, when you first walk in you are immediately greeted by dog stench…read moreand then you notice, yup there's a dog in the office. Listen I'm a lover of dogs but there's a time and a place and unless that dog is a service dog it has no place in a dental office. Completely unhygienic and invalidating of people who actually depend on service dogs. And just because he's wearing a scarf that says service it doesn't make it legit. Secondly there is just a general lack of professionalism. The receptionist/assistant ladies were very nice and welcoming, but that's it. Dont make the mistake of booking a noon appointment , Once they get you in that crowded room everyone is squeezing through cracks, they move you from chair to chair to make room for their millions of patients they can't attend to at once and they very loudly talk about how they're rushing because it's almost lunch time and they're about to leave without the Dr. After waiting for more than an hour for the Dr to be available he finally got to me, chewing his lunch in my face. He was rushed, distracted, barely looked at my X-rays, lacked attention to detail, and I genuinely felt that he cares more about making money than about the patients health and well being. He was suggesting exaggerated procedures which would technically solve the problem but it wasn't the most efficient. I would hear prices before hearing actual solutions. It is saddening that a place like this that primarily serves people from the Hispanic community who sometimes don't speak english, are low income, lack the tools and knowledge and access to better take care of their teeth, finally build the courage to go to the dentist only to get scammed by Dr. Mireles. And yes if you're thinking "hmm where do I know that name from?" Yes he's from that old ass commercial. When I told my parents who the Dr was they said " oh no why would you go to that guy. He's the the worst and oldest scammer in salinas" So learn from my mistakes, if you're gonna end up paying a million dollars anyway, might as well pay them somewhere where you'll be better and CLEANER service. DISGUSTING!!!!!
