I don't think a toddler under the age of two can have gum disease or signs of gum disease when they barely have all their teeth. Tartar buildup should be part of your routine cleaning. Also too pushy with taking a photo of my toddler even though clearly did not want to. I would have been a regular customer but the trust isn't there.

First visit we just came in to get acquainted with the office and have a oral exam. The dentist recommended a cleaning and fluoride which we declined, due to having physical and shots that morning. No one tried to force those, we were recommended to return in 6 months. Second visit was great considering this is the first time getting our teeth cleaned! I was sitting by my baby's side and was able to console him and the hygienist was very nice and sweet but thorough! We had dentist do an exam and had fluoride applied.

This is my story but there are other horror stories from people in my surrounding communities. Monterey, Seaside, and Salinas. Central Coast Pediatric Dental Group is the reason for my trauma. It took me years and years to recover from it. My mother brought me here for Sedation when I was 4 years old in 2005 and had ALL my teeth covered in silver caps. I was given a small cup with a liquid solution to drink before the procedure and according to my mother they had me waiting for a while because Dr. Murillo was helping other patients. While I waited for them to be ready my relaxer was wearing off and my mother was starting to get worried that it would have no effect on me. Dr. Murillo behaved very unprofessionally and shouted at my mother for expressing her concerns. When they took me to the back they put me on a papoose board and I felt every part of the procedure and began to cry because it was excruciatingly painful. I was in so much pain and discomfort and one of the Dentist's shouted at me and said "Be quiet!"and would cover my mouth with their hands to keep me quiet. They rolled me out on a wheelchair through the back door and all I remember is heavily crying and feeling terrified. 2 years ago my niece went in for sedation and said to me "aunty they were so mean to me". I had Flashbacks and knew she wasn't lying to me because I lived through that. The truth has come to light and I am here to be the voice of those children and their families. There are many stories about this place on yelp and Google reviews. Please do not bring your kids to this horrific place.

We've seen all the dentists and they're all equally great! Their team is always up front and transparent with their findings and if there's any intervention needed, we never feel forced into anything and the front desk is always happy to give pricing/quotes while explaining exactly what's getting billed for. Our 11 year old recently had to get 4 extractions (due to having a small mouth and ortho requested to get them extracted) and Dr. Coe was the GOAT. It was our son's first experience at the dentist for extractions and general anesthesia, and he said he didn't feel anything at all! As I understand it, the elder brother owns the business. The two of them take turns, so if you really want one over the other, you'd have to ask for him specifically. I don't care which one works on me and my family, as they're both very good, and their staff is friendly and professional. After a rough start, my daughter is now an excellent little patient here. They do a fine job with children. Once upon a time, they did a filling that wasn't quite right, so when I needed it re-done, they re-did it--for free. I appreciate their willingness to stand by their work, and fix what isn't right. Don't let this scare you away, though. They've done other work on me and my wife, and it's all been excellent. No one's perfect, so the real test of a person, or business, is how they handle their imperfections. Harden Family Dentistry passes with flying colors. Highly recommended. (P.S.: We usually finish our excursion to Salinas with a trip to In-And-Out Burger. It's our reward for having to go out to that cesspool.)

I went in with what I…read morebelieved was a tooth infection, and instead of prescribing antibiotics or properly treating it, the dentist told me it would "go away on its own." Unfortunately, it didn't. The infection got worse, and when I later went in expecting a root canal, they instead decided to extract my tooth. What made the situation even more upsetting was how pressured I felt during the appointment. I told them I wanted to leave and think about it, but multiple staff members surrounded my chair insisting I sign paperwork giving permission for the extraction. I felt cornered and extremely uncomfortable. The woman at the front desk was also rude and dismissive about the situation, which only added to the stress and anxiety I was already feeling. To make matters worse, the dentist couldn't even fully remove the tooth, leaving me with half a tooth still in my mouth for two days before I was able to see a specialist who removed what remained of the tooth. It was painful, stressful, and honestly one of the worst dental experiences I've ever had. Which has also lead to fear of the dentist. Now, years later, I'm still dealing with the consequences of losing that tooth. I don't have the luxury of dental insurance to help cover the cost of replacing it, and it has caused me ongoing issues that could have possibly been avoided if I had been treated properly from the beginning. This experience happened in 2022, so hopefully things have improved since then, but based on my experience and from people I know who've had similar experiences, I personally would not return or recommend this office.

It is saddening that a place like this that primarily serves people from the Hispanic community who sometimes don't speak english, are low income, lack the tools and knowledge and access to better take care of their teeth, finally build the courage to go to the dentist only to get scammed by Dr. Mireles.
