I've been bringing my son here ever sense we were stationed out here. We have never had an issue and all of the staff do what they can to make the kids happy. My son used to not like to brush his teeth but they were able to connect to him and now he's really good about it just to show off at his appointment. They also take Tricare and they make it all easy. For anyone with kids looking for a good general dentist that's also good with kids this is the place. They are always also good about being on time. I've been taking my two kids to this office for many years. Dr.Dail as a dentist was great. We had an issue with our insurance and the billing was horrible! The biller was rude and demanding. She was yelling at me, and threatening me. My insurance problem was eventually resolved. They have now blocked my phone number. My husband can get through but not me. They now owe me $400 and I can't even call them to get my money back!!!! it doesn't matter how good of a dentist you are if you have shady billing practices. We will never go back. read more

My children have been seen by Dr Dail for about 10 years. We were devoted even after our insurance coverage change. Our experience has soured recently by an extremely rude and patronizing office attendant/billing person. I can't express fully just how frustrated she's made us feel over the past few visits. If you have questions about the high billing rate you will be scolded with a saccharin tone and repeatedly told what you already know. Ask to speak with the dentist directly?... I am blown away at the quality of both the facilities and staff. In the most beautiful medical facility I've seen, the excellence of the workers matched and exceeded expectations. The absolutely amazing, personable, professional, knowledgeable, and kind dentist and hygienists made an otherwise dreadful experience, easy and pleasant. Extremely difficult and unhelpful staff. I had a horrible experience trying to schedule a check up for my toddler. The staff pretty much cant be bothered to answer questions and seemed uninterested in scheduling anything from the beginning. I initially called over a week ago and first i was told without much enthusiasm to go on their website and submit patient forms before scheduling an appointment. This seemed backwards but fine, i did it. Mind you the forms were extremely long and involved. Literally required more information than some job applications. I uploaded copies of both mine and my husbands drivers licenses, input insurance, employer's information, etc. The ONLY thing i felt uncomfortable putting in was our social security numbers. Of course 3 days go by and no response from the office, so i emailed again to find out when they could see us. All they respond with is that i need to provide our social security numbers. I explained i didn't feel comfortable and I offered instead to place a cash deposit if they are concerned about being able to keep track of us for financial responsibility. Mind you they already had our PPO dental Insurance on file and we are talking about a check up for a two year old which is covered 100%. I thought, let me call and speak with the doctor, I'm sure she will be reasonable. NOPE. Basically was told she wont have time to speak anytime in the future. Mind you I managed a busy dental office in Los Angeles for 6 years prior to having my baby and this is not normal. You cannot legally require your patients social security information and actually it is extremely common for personal information to be taken from medical/dental and hospital computer systems. Anyway, after a week of wasted time and giving them most of our info anyway they just emailed a very crisp, "were not the right fit for your dental needs." Absolutely rude and disrespectful. There was literally no reason they needed a ss# to see a two year old for a fully covered diagnostic appointment. read more

Our experience with Dr. Dail was horrible. She has good bedside manners and appears to be on the patient's side but she's only after padding the bill by including unnecessary and expensive procedures. She recommended that my 1.5yo child be put under general anesthesia and receive a crown for a small cavity in one of his front baby teeth!!! She gave me guilt trips for questioning this- she said if I don't put a crown and have to remove the tooth when it inevitably gets infected, he will develop a lisp and kids at school might make fun of him. Seriously doctor???? Her office hounded us for weeks/months to schedule the procedure. The anesthesiologists office even called us (obviously Dr. Dail's office gave them our number) - they were trying to put my mind at ease about general anesthesia. Sorry guys, my aunt has been an anesthesiologist for 30 years - I am VERY aware of the MANY risks of general anesthesia and absolutely APPALLED that these offices and doctors are taking such a causal approach especially when it comes to babies - what happened to "first do no harm"? I found a holistic dentist north of Monterey who filled my baby's tooth with a Nemo DVD instead of anesthesia and $150 (instead of the $2000 Dail wanted). Then he talked to me about the Weston Price diet and I was able to remineralize my boy's teeth with diet and supplements. When his tooth fell out naturally years later you can see the enamel solidifying around the cavity. No kids made fun of him and he didn't have to get general anesthesia at 18months old!!! How dentists like these sleep at night is beyond me! read more

Dropped insurance and left her patients hanging after being her patients for years. We were given short notice as well. Terrible! Front office staff was always short and cold, not welcoming. We weren't allowed to touch doorknob to let ourselves in. Although it is an inconvenience to find a new dentist, probably a blessing. read more

We were referred to Dr. Dail by our pediatrician. Today was my daughters first time at the dentist. The staff was really kind, friendly and gentle to my daughter. They didn't do xrays so they don't scare her on her first visit. She did great today so they said possibly next visit they will do xrays. The office is very clean and sanitary. They followed Covid protocols very well. We will be back for sure. read more

An update. I had to chase a lot for a price breakdown, they blamed our insurer (who had ALWAYS given an immediate response) but I've had ALL my dental work completed before I received a treatment plan for my kids, and our referral never came through. When we did get our quote there were unnecessary charges for nitrous oxide. I don't need to pay an exorbitant amount to make their job easier in administering an injection. We never received any follow up contact or communication from them. I really wanted to love them through and through, so much. read more

Happy to report that my son's first visit to the dentist went amazing thanks to Dr. Dail's and her staff. It was easy to make an appointment and we were able to be seen within just a couple of days. The office was clean and very kid friendly with games, books, videos etc. After arriving, we were promptly seen by Dr. Dail and the visit was wrapped up within 40 minutes, as promised. Dr. Dail and the nurses were so kind and gentle which made it easy and comfortable for my son- he is just under two years old so this was a completely new experience :) I would highly recommend Dr. Dail! read more

Dr. Dail was SO sweet with my 1yr old. She took her time with him and really made us both feel comfortable. He allowed her to examine his teeth, apply fluoride, and even gave her a high five when she was all done. I really appreciate how she spent her time getting to know my little one and addressed all of my concerns. The office is nice and clean. I still think Dr. Dail is a great Dentist for children. She has a great personality and friendly to both parents and the children. Her Hygienist is great as well and makes my child feel like it is fun to get the fluoride treatments. They always get a little something at the end, along with some toothpaste, toothbrush, and maybe a few other little odds and ends. A little ridiculous to be billed an extreme amount just for pulling a tooth out that was already loose. If I would have known how much, I would have just pulled it out when we got home. Just my little rant, in an overall great provider of Dentistry for children. Other then billing issues, I would still take my child there and trust in the work Dr. Dail does. She doesn't mind giving out a referral to another provider if she thinks your child would benefit from seeing a specialist of some kind. read more

My son had his first visit today with Dr Dail. I have worked in dentistry for the last 15 years so I am definitely much more aware and picky about other dental and medical offices. Well, this was an awesome experience from the phone call to schedule to walking in the door and the whole appointment start to finish! Everyone was happy, pleasant, helpful and knew how to do their jobs. My son is very nervous about the dental office and I was blown away by how quickly he became comfortable with first Meghan RDA and then Dr Dail. I appreciated how Dr Dail explained everything to my son in a way he could understand but not "baby talk" and to me explaining why she was diagnosing certain treatment and all the risks and benefits. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm very happy to say that Dr Dail is my son's new dentist. I highly recommend this office! read more

My daughter's regular dentist stopped taking our insurance so I was desperate to find a new dentist. The problem is she had EXTREME fear of the dentist. I knew she had cavities to fix but the last time she had one , her former dentist said she may need to be put under to get it done properly because of her fears. I wasn't sure Dr Dail was going to be able to "handle" this fear. But she had such a great way about her, that my daughters two "princess" crowns were done WITHOUT any problems. Dr Dail talked her through it, showed her different things that were going into her mouth(not the scary stuff), and made getting a shot a breeze. I'm super impressed. I recently brought my three children to Dr. Dail. It's unanimous - we all love her! She is so friendly and informative. My kids (3, 3, 1) had never before seen a dentist, and she spent a long time working with the kids to help put them at ease. Because all three children were seen at the same time, she called in a helper with her who was terrific at distracting my 1-yr-old and also showed the older ones how to properly brush a bear and dinosaur's teeth, which they loved. Dr. Dail changed our lives. I have two boys. My oldest had a very bad experience with another pediatric dentist when he was 2 so we were hesitant to go again to the dentist. Yes, very bad for us but the experience was negative for all of us. I spent some time looking around and trying to find a new doctor and luckily found her. Dr. Dail has such a gentle way about her, took time to show my boys everything and talked to THEM. The experience was better at every level. Dr. Dail's office does not have a lot of chidren themed items - but not a bit issue for us at all. Hmmmm..... I am so very surprise to read the above review. Why did yelp filter out the previous rave reviews of us families who took the time to let you all know how great her staff and her are!!!!!! After a long search of pediatric dentists in the area, we found Dr Dail. Previously, my two small children had bad experiences at the dentist. I understand that it is hard for 2- 5 year olds to sit still and behave when they are fearful and uncooperative. Her warmth and caring were awesome. My wife loved her and my kids loved her. She explain everything in detail, was patient and playful with my kids. AND her fees were reasonable considering we have no dental insurance. Her staff was also helpful courteous and very friendly. Everyone knows that most people who complain on yelp about their dentists is because they do not want to pay the bill.... and they are Jerks . Fantastic experience!!! We moved here recently and had to look for a new dentist our son. He is in high school, but has a problem with gagging, so going to the dentist with him has always been a nightmare. My husband took my son this time and when he returned, he said Dr. Dail was outstanding. She was very nice, calm and patient. But she was also very smart to be able figure out how to get things done despite my son's problem with gagging and his extreme phobia of anything getting near his mouth. My son had special x-rays (normal x-rays could not be done because he would gag), a small cavity fixed, and his teeth cleaned by Dr. Dail. It may not seem like much, but from our previous experiences getting these things done is not a trivial matter. My husband is very excited to have found an excellent dentist who knows how to work with our son, so our future visits to the dentist will not be as bad. It's hard to know who is a competent dentist that will also be child friendly. Dr. Dail is definitely competent and very child friendly. We highly recommend her and we are so glad to have found her here in Monterey. My husband said she should get 6 stars!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about Dr Dail! My children started seeing her at ages 1 and 3 and we were part of her practice for two years until we moved. She is professional and also great with kids. She showed them what all the instruments were for before using them and showed them how to brush on a toy dinosaur and fish. My oldest daughter actually asks to go to the dentist and has been saying for more than two years that she wants to be a dentist and mommy like Dr. Dail. I have recommended her to many friends and acquaintances. They all come back with rave reviews as well. My only negative: She doesn't treat adults! I wish she could be my dentist, too! read more

Very Poor Experience, please check around the area for a more experience pediatric dentist prior to booking an appointment with this dentist. It was obvious to our family upon the very first visit that Dr. Dail did not have our child's best interest at heart as much as she did her own. She was very short, not comforting and not very thorough. She did not provide any treatment options other then sedation in the form of putting our child to sleep, she did not offer and advise on proper at home care more did she provide any alternative forms of treatment. She simply instilled fear techniques into us to have us do several thousands of dollars in work and then would not discuss prices. The front desk was completely dis organized and unfriendly. This was a disaster from the time we stepped into the office. I guess it comes down to the fact that I simply do not and did not trust her opinion nor her knowledge. Her diagnosis was several thousands of dollars in work and sedation in the form of putting child under to do work with NO alternative even with suggested once a month visits until child warmed up to her. Second opinion reveals only one of the four prescribed crowns prescribed by Dail would be necessary, simply unexplainable and unfathomable the she would do this to our child. DONT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU! Get a second opinion or first opinion from someone else. Trust me? Trust her? I guess I'm not out to get your money, she is! read more
