Dr. Martin did a great job on letting me know about the process and letting me know how each step was progressing. I think timing and hearing a promo on the radio helped me in making a decision to go with Ohana Dental.

For a decade we had our 3 girls seeing Dr Bayless and were very pleased with their level of care…read more Once the elder Dr Bayless retired and the new Dr Bayless (son) took over the lack of knowledge and experience wasn't there. Our youngest daughter was told she needed a root canal and the first time we were referred to the pediatric orthodontist they immediately told us that was for sure not the case. Then a 2nd time we were told she definitely needed a root canal "because we waited too long to take care of the tooth's issue" they wanted to refer us to a different pediatric orthodontist, at which point I insisted we see the same one (the most experienced in our area) Bayless didn't want to send us back there and now it's crystal clear why. His inexperience caused our 13 year old 4 unnecessary Dr visits. We moved to a DDS who immediately fixed the issue in her own practice. This could have been resolved months prior. We also btw had to pay for each referral appointment in the tune of several hundred dollars. Not great care = not great customer service = the reason why we left their practice.

Shucks! I have my youngest who still has another year with Dr. Miller. He is just so kind and caring to all of his patients and his staff is literally the best dental staff ever! As an adult, I have switched dentist about a dozen times because I find it so difficult to find the level of care that my children have had in Dr. Miller and his team. We have never switch pediatric dental care for my children. I only wish I could find a dental care as great as Dr. Miller and his team. From the office staff to the dental care team...each and every one of them are simply the best! When we lived as far as Soledad, we used to still bring our kids to see Dr. Miller.... That just shows how amazing they are in that office!

I called this morning to schedule a general cleaning and check-up for my daughter. I informed the…read morereceptionist from the beginning that I intended to pay in cash and would not be using insurance. Despite repeating this multiple times, she continued to ask for my insurance information. Eventually, I told her that I have Medi-Cal, and clarified that I was aware your office does not accept it -- which is exactly why I wanted to pay out of pocket. Even after explaining this clearly, she repeatedly told me that the office could not help me because I have Medi-Cal. I attempted several times to clarify that I was not using insurance at all and was willing to pay upfront, but she was unwilling to listen. I even asked to speak with someone else, but instead of addressing my concerns, I was told, "We don't help those kind of people here." When I requested to speak with a manager, I was abruptly hung up on. I felt deeply disrespected and discriminated against based on the mere fact that I have Medi-Cal, despite making it clear I had no intention of using it. I left a voicemail expressing my concerns but never received a response. It's extremely disheartening to experience this kind of treatment. I've since scheduled an appointment with a different office where my payment will be accepted -- without judgment. The way this situation was handled is unacceptable and reflects very poorly on your office. No one should be treated this way. I posted a review on Google, and the dentist responded by claiming the call never took place. To clarify, I added a screenshot of my call history to show that the conversation did happen. I hope this helps others see how the situation was handled and what kind of behavior is considered acceptable at this office.

When you get to the chair, they'll have sunglasses for you so the lights aren't in your face, and if you are having a long procedure, you can watch a video of your choosing. But more importantly, the dentists (I've seen Dr. Simonsen and Dr. Melhem both) are kind, gentle, and thorough. I had two crowns, my first ever, a few years ago, and I was VERY nervous, since I have had previous fillings and extractions with inadequate anesthesia. The office has a long and detailed questionnaire where you can identify your triggers and they offer you ways to ameliorate them. I started feeling the work partway through and Dr. Simonsen stopped to re-numb me, instead of carrying on like dentists I've had in the past. They also offered breaks, and got me a ball from the prize chest to squeeze so I wouldn't maul my palms. The hygienists, Alison and Lisa, are also both great. Friendly, gentle, and detail oriented. They'll get you sparkling clean without making your mouth sore. I actually don't dread going for a cleaning!

Five Stars - Truly Life-Changing Smile!…read more I cannot thank Dr. Melhem and the team at Carmel Family Dental enough for the amazing transformation they achieved with my Daughters smile! She had some gaps and discoloration that made her feel self-conscious, after her Orthodontic treatment. Dr. Melhem recommended the BioClear bonding treatment as a same-day fix that wouldn't require any removal of her natural tooth structure. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Dr. Melhem explained every step in detail, answered all my questions with patience, and made sure my Daughter and I both felt completely comfortable. The treatment itself was quick, painless, and the results were immediate. The difference is incredible - her teeth now look smooth, even, and natural (you can see the before and after photos!). The material blended perfectly with her natural teeth color, and her smile looks brighter and healthier than I ever imagined possible. The office is warm and welcoming, the staff is friendly and professional, and you can tell they truly care about their patients. I'm so grateful for Dr. Melhem's expertise and artistry - this is more than dental work, it's confidence restored! If you're considering BioClear or any cosmetic dental work, I cannot recommend Dr. Melhem and Carmel Family Dental enough. You'll be in the best hands.

At the time, he told me that eventually they would even out...humm....yah...right. He is a wonderful orthodontist but this was a quick procedure that I think was not considered thoroughly by him. I came originally to get braces for a more even mouth after all. He could have been more exact but instead brushed over my concern and now my two front teeth are uneven.
