My boyfriend ordered the cabbage bowl with macaroni salad. They messed up his order at first but were quick to correct it. Food tasted great - super fresh, good portions, and reasonable prices. It's a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. I just had water but they have a large variety of beverages and specialty sodas. My food came in about 10-15 mins and it was mouthwatering and perfect. With my pancake I got maple syrup and a macadamia nut sauce. The nut sauce has a condensed milk consistency and isn't overpowering with sweetness but enough to make your mouth water for more of it. The veggie omelette was perfect. The peppers gave a little crunch to complement the various other veggies. The feta was the perfect amount of saltiness to the egg. My wife and I visited here because we wanted to try something different and Ohana had excellent reviews. We drop off our youngest grandkids at church for Wednesday night kids program at 7 PM then pick them up at 8 PM, so dinner has to be close and quick. Our first visit here because of many excellent reviews and a vegan oriented restaurant that does serve us carnivores. Easy to find, we were surprised to walk in to live music. Turns out we came on the first Wednesday of the month, "ukulele night!" Apparently it's an open mic night for locals to come in and share songs. We expected Hawaiian music, Ohana, but most of the songs were from the 60's so right in our "Boomer" zone. Music was a tad loud but we were seated up front, right by singers. For a first visit we each tried a different Buffalo burger. Mine was the 5-0 burger with a side of potato salad and veggie fries. Fries were identical to those I buy at grocery store. Potato salad was ok, nothing special. Burger, with all on it, was a bit bland. Wish I had ordered Jalapeños on the side. I also tried the Pomegranate soda with simple syrup that was barely sweet for a Southern Sweet Tea drinker. My wife oRdered the Buffalo Teri-burger with a teriyaki sauce. Hers was much better but literally came apart when she halved it to share. She also got potato salad and an Ohana slaw with raisins and pineapple, which was excellent. She did agree that my burger was pretty bland. Service was excellent and fast, especially for the monthly live music night. There was no communication from the staff about any delays when we placed our order, and we ended up waiting over an hour for two burgers that never came. The café wasn't crazy busy, so we were confused about what was causing the wait. We ended up asking for a refund and leaving. Ohana Cafe is one of my wife's favorite places in Dunedin and we come here every time we visit, which is at least a couple times per year. The food is always good and we can be sure that our tradition will stand for years to come. It's great that there are plenty of vegan options for my wife and plenty of other great healthy options for the non-vegans like myself. I don't have enough space in this review for all the good things I have to say about this place. You can not go wrong with anything on the menu. They are extremely accommodating to all diets, and have several options for meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans, and gluten free diets. This has become a regular spot for us, and it's nice as a vegan to have so many diverse options to try each time. Pita and Tanner are so welcoming, and attentive, even during busier times. I actually can't tell you what shines more about this place between the food and the service because they are both stellar. Tanner is almost always our waiter, and we absolutely adore him. You can tell he takes the time to make sure every table is taken care of, and the patrons can see it. My husband and I drove in to Clearwater for my Birthday and I found this place on Yelp when I searched 'vegan'. What a find! There's literally so much to choose from on the menu and my husband was ecstatic to finally have the option to order real eggs for breakfast. He ordered the Onolicious Bacon Omeette with organic potatoes and GF bread. I ordered the Loco Moco Vegan Style which was absolutely delicious. You can choose from brown basmati or white jasmine rice. It's topped with a veggie patty and some yummy gravy onions and thick slices of portobello. It was so good I had to finish it all! I also ordered some of Lucy's Pancakes on the side which are GF and Plant Based (Vegan). The pancakes were to die for! They come with fresh pineapple, kiwi and maple syrup; a meal in itself. I use to go to Ohana in Dunedin regularly but as time went on the food failed to impress. Many months after closing we went to this Ohana in Palm Harbor. They didn't have the veggie burger (I'm vegan) that the Dunedin one use to serve. Even though they had went to a different burger that wasn't as good at least it was something for me to eat. So I decided to just order some potato salad. Now this stuff use to be SO good in Dunedin but again I'm told they don't have it here. Sooooo....I break down and order the pancakes which were always pretty good in Dunedin...well, what a waste of money. They were so grainy! I got a couple of other people I was with to try them and they thought the same thing. The interior could be fixed up super cute but it's not. Just so let down. Yes, walking in I knew that it was one of 'those places', but I was completely caught off guard by complete exclusion of any meal that a normal person might eat. I have seen vegans, etal complain about the lack of vegan meals at a steakhouse, so I feel quite alright about doing that in my review. The nice waitress dropped off our menus, and left us completely alone, with very little guidance on the menu offerings. It would have helped if she had asked us if we had ever dined here before, as many places do nowadays, especially in a restaurant with clearly limited offerings. After about 10 minutes she returned to our table, and I asked for her help in choosing a meal. However, due to the very poor acoustics in the room it was very hard to hear her. The place was only 25 to 30% occupied, but the wooden ceiling made the place very loud. The guy waiter wasn't helping at all. He was serving a table with a few senior women, and his voice was very loud, and annoyingly so. I had wanted to order an entrée during lunch, but the menu stated after 5pm only. Our server told me I could order it for lunch. It was a chicken substitute for a Kahlua Pig offering. The soup was Coconut Lime, good, but not a taste of lime. I laughed when I was brought the non-soy soy sauce. Seriously?? You can't supply real soy sauce for someone? The meal was good, but lacked something. Perhaps if they added some fresh pineapple to the dish it would have been much better. If you want they do have breakfast options, but don't come at breakfast time, they open at 11am. It had tasty hummus, spinach, cucumber, artichoke, sweet onion, mushroom, lomi-lomi tomato, and hemp hearts all rolled into a wrap. What's all the fuss about? This weekend I had my first and last trip to ohana cafe. I came because there was a BOGO breakfast coupon on Facebook , so I thought I'd give it a chance When we got there and sat down, the problems started. Very slow service. Someone must have walked by us at least 5 times before we got a menu. Another 10 minutes to order a drink and 5 more after that to order food. I got the da kine bowl. My mom got the omelette and the kids pancakes for my daughter. Food took forever to come out. We asked 2 times for honey and never got it. Asked for salsa for the eggs and we were charged $2 for a tablespoon size portion. At the end, I reminded the server about my coupon before paying the bill. She still didn't apply it. Had to ask again, this time she took the coupon off, but it was only $8 value, not really BOGO. Bathrooms were dirty. Nobody ever checked on us to see how our meal was.
