You're missing out if you don't come here, the restaurant is cozy and the decor fits the atmosphere. Our waiter was kind and the chefs were quick at rolling out our sushi. You're telling me I only need to spend $35 for all you can eat sushi?! That's this good of quality! Best sushi I've had in a while and they have a wide selection to choose from. Good job guys, bravo read more

I was quite impressed with Oh Sushi. Upon arriving, it's very evident that customer service is important to this establishment. It was a bit difficult to understand who was in charge of what front-of-house, but I say that as a compliment because everyone on the floor had each other's backs. It was very obvious that everyone really cared, and service was personal. The food was amazing; I even ordered things I don't generally care for, just to get a solid feel for the place. And no, I won't tell you everything I ordered. Go find out for yourself. You won't be disappointed. The energy is low key but classy, it's very comfortable but doesn't attract the clientele you'd be unhappy having at the next table. 10/10. read more

This place recently changed hands but the new management still seems to have the high standards; they've expanded the menu but everything we've tried here is good. The sushi is fabulous. They really know what they are doing in that regard. Don't know what else to say about the sushi....it's just always great. The sampling of other non-sushi stuff we've ordered here is wonderful as well. This is family owned and the gal who has waited on us several times now (Kine) is cute and funny and you feel right at home here. Overall a terrific local treasure. read more

Not bad for an AYCE sushi but you'll definitely want to go w a group of people so that you can try different rolls. They definitely have a lot of sushi items available on their AYCE menu, almost too many IMO, which is a good thing so that you'll want to come back to try other rolls. We went with another couple and were able to try about 12 rolls and a few appetizers. Everything was good and the staff was super sweet and attentive. We didn't wait too long for our food to come out even on a Friday evening. The dining area is small and the decor is simple & cute. read more

Wanted to try something new. Wasabi Chi is our go to, but I'd read good things about Oh Sushi and decided to give them a shot. I'd heard the rumors of all you can eat sushi.... But just kind of blew it off. Must be just house rolls or budget items. Nope. It's almost EVERYTHING on their menu with one rule. No leftovers. No taking it home. And depending on how much you leave there may be an additional charge. If you order it you better eat it. 1 - Order of fried crab 2 ~ Orders of jalapeño bombs 1 - Order of gyoza on fire 1 - Anger management roll 1 - Incredible Hulk roll 2 - Black Panther rolls 1 - Dante's inferno roll 1 - 007 roll This place should be called OMG Sushi! Quality food. Great service. And bang for your buck! The restaurant itself is nicely simple. Table and chairs with chair, bench, and table combos along the wall. Ample parking nearby. We were greeted promptly after walking in shortly after opening, seated, and the menu and AYCE option was explained to us. There's a small host station towards the front and the sushi bar is towards the rear of the restaurant. The food was wonderful and the wait between rounds was short. I thought for sure there had to be some catch. Make them sit and drink so they get full faster.... So not our experience. The rolls are not small. My favorite was the Black Panther roll. Heather's was the Anger management roll. We both loved the jalapeño bombs. The Dante's inferno roll was good but the heat was lack luster. For being verbally warned how hot it was.... The Incredible Hulk roll was hotter. The sauce with the gyoza on fire though.... That hits you with both fists. A sweet tease on your tastebuds and then the fire. $55 and change before tip. The AYCE option is $25.99 per person. We had a great experience here from start to finish. We both said we will definitely be back. https://ohsushi.org/ read more

100% will be returning & bringing all of our friends & family. I can't say enough nice things about our experience! Our server was the most sweet & kind women, I bombarded her with so many questions & of course everything she suggested was delicious. We got an appetizer, tried their Sake - both blueberry & white peach (highly recommend white peach if you're a sweet lover) & 2 rolls each with their Oreo desert. Their entire store is a cute set up & looks very updated. We loved their wall of greenery & flowers, very photogenic. All of their rolls were named so fun, and we kept a menu just to continue going through our options. We stayed a bit late & the chef himself took over for our table & he was so incredibly sweet. We had the greatest experience truly. I am a huge sushi fanatic and will be returning many more times. read more

First time trying this spot and it was recommended by my 14 year old nephew who is a very picky eater. Got the 4 roll deal ($35.99) for ANY 4 rolls: Dragon roll: Regular price: $12.50 - eel, avocado, cucumber, crab is typical on lots of menus across the metro and it was just as good as any other. I liked that it wasn't drowning in the sauce. Poseidon roll: Regular price: $13.50 - spicy tuna, crab, eel, topped w/ seared tuna, avocado and soft green crunch was a great mix of flavors and delicious. I would definitely get this one again. Die Hard roll: Regular price: $13 - spicy scallop, jalapeno, albacore, gobo topped w/ spicy tuna had a bit of a kick but wasn't too spicy. Spicy tuna roll: Regular price: $7 - spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado was just as tasty as in other places with crunch from the cucumber and creaminess from the avocado. Overall, delicious sushi and the 4 roll deal is amazing! read more

Just a heads up for everyone that enjoyed the AYCE menu - it's no longer a thing. The menu offered less sushi options too. This was one of our favorite spots in Des Moines, we're disappointed to see it change. Even though the service was still great & they even comped us an appetizer, it just didn't feel nor taste the same. read more

All you can eat sushi, and it's not "buffet sushi". All they ask is that you eat what you order or you pay extra. Loved everything and will be going back read more

Went here for lunch. Service was great. Plenty of tables. Both rolls were amazing! Wish they had a full bar and cocktails. Recommendation for restaurant: Consider condensing the menu into smaller pages if you ever re-print new ones. This is funny, but when you're in a booth and someone is across from you, you can not look at the menu because it's so big unless you turn to the side. read more

If you like sushi this is a great spot! They have all you can eat (seems to be rare for Iowa?) and lots of fun rolls! It's definitely a bang for your buck! The rolls were generous sizes! We went around 5p on a Saturday and they were able to seat us right away, all the staff were very friendly, eager to refill our drinks, put in another order. It's a cute little place! read more

Great service. Hot food made to order. Very convenient location. Just wish it still had the drive through.

The atmosphere is nice, modern, sleek lounge. Really like the small design elements, from the lights to the things such as the soy sauce container, sake glasses and chopsticks. Had the Lychee Hana sake. A little sweet and smooth. We ordered miso soups. The broth was very flavorful. We also order the Philly Roll, Dante's Inferno and the 007. They were delicious and big. So they are quite filling. Dante's inferno had a little heat that lingers but really good. Now I've always heard when it comes to sushi it's all about the rice, now let me tell you, the bits of rice I ate apart from the roll was delicious; I might order a little bowl next time just so I can taste it on its own. The only things that's a little confusing is the menu. Could be written and laid out a little better. read more

I enjoyed this all you can eat sushi. Had 3 rolls and a salad. All three rolls were good but I especially liked the bronco. Cucumber salad was small but you can't complain with all you can eat. Plum wine was also very good and not too sweet. We will be back. read more

This place is super yummy. It has two options for dining. AYCE or a la carte. The AYCE requires you come very hungry. The sushi is super delicious and the rolls are wrapped nice as well. I ordered my rolls with light rice so I did not fill up on rice. The rolls are all named after movies which is super cute. I had Anger Management and Rush Hour and my partner had Inferno and a couple other rolls. We had the steamed Gyoza for an appetizer too. All the rolls were great and the appetizer was on point. Definitely worth a try! read more

The quality of the fish is not that great. The service is not great either, food took forever to get to the table. The ambience of the restaurant is not warm and it looks more like a Chinese restaurant than a Japanese. read more

I took my daughter here for her birthday lunch and had an extremely wonderful experience! Someone greeted me as soon as I entered the door and I was offered a table immediately. Once my coat was off, they offered my choice of beverages while I waited for my daughter. They offer an amazing deal of all you can eat sushi, which included an appetizer, but a patron isn't allowed to leave leftovers or carry them home, which seems very reasonable. Their seaweed salad was delicious! Our waitress was SO pleasant, helped us with menu questions and our food was fresh & beautifully presented! Kudos to the chefs! A must try if you save tummy room is the Oreo Roll for dessert. We ordered a small for her birthday & it was scrumptious!! Before we left, the chef came out to wish my daughter happy birthday! Very sweet!! Relaxed atmosphere, comfortable seating, and highly recommend! read more

We used to go to Sakura but it was taking an hour to get our orders (regularly went with 5 adults and two kids 4-11yo) so searched for something new. I'm honestly do sad I didn't take any photos, it was so fresh and beautifully presented. They brought food as it was ready Vs after it was all ready which means it started arriving 2 minutes after ordered! Seriously, it was so fast and the staff were wonderfully friendly and gave great recommendations. Highly recommend!!! read more

I'm cautiously optimistic! I've been so looking forward to something besides Italian opening up in my 'hood, but our meals left some to be desired. I went opening night full expecting them to be working out the kinks, and I was right. One server to 6 or 7 tables, rolls arrived WITH entrees and the hot food arrived room temperature. the sushi rolls were a little fishy-smelling. (I ordered shrimp.) Most rolls contain tempura and cream cheese; they were happy to modify for me since I have food allergies. Also, no alcohol license as of yet. Very sweet servers who thanked us profusely for supporting them. I want them to do well but alas, I'll likely go elsewhere when sushi cravings hit. read more

If you can't afford to give people all you can eat food then don't do it, instead you give people cheap food without any fish. ‍ Worst service ever!! Waitress gave me nasty attitude whenever I asked for my food. It took them an hour just to bring out some of my appetizers. The worst part is the people that took my friends' orders came out quicker than mine. It took 45mins just to get water and that is because I asked 3x. No ginger, no soy sauce, no napkins, no nothing!!! I tipped 20% but it does not mean this place is good. I will not come back!!!!! read more

This is my second visit to Oh sushi and it is not a one hit wonder! Very chill restaurant with super clever sushi names named after movies. Fresh, Unique and tasty, the spicy ramen noodles is okay as well as the chicken but the money maker is really the sushi. Place sucks ass, we sat in there for 30 minutes and didn't even get help. Also only had one waitress, there's lil dudes with chopsticks running around and it's very frustrating. Had a GREAT experience today. We went in close to closing time (we were actually unsure of the adjusted hours), as we were heading out to go somewhere else, the owner came outside and insisted we come in & they stayed late. We had awesome sushi. I would recommend the GI Joe and Anger Management rolls, and they also brought us by calamari salad, seaweed salad, & potstickers on the house. I know businesses are struggling right now through the pandemic, and this business is somewhere I will continue to support, thanks to the great service, delicious food, and accommodations when it wasn't necessary. This is my first review, but I was moved by the generosity today. Thanks, Oh Sushi! read more
