Just your typical go-to dive bar really. Option of both tables and bar stools. Dirt cheap drinks and by that I mean $5 wells and they are strong as hell too! They have all your other mentionables such as pool, darts, jukebox, etc. What's also cool is they have live bands. I'm not too much a fan of dive bars but I like that this one is a mixed crowd- so you wont be around only people over 40 etc- cause that's not always the mood you're in- admit it! Also you wont be surrounded by hormonal loud college kids cause that's not always the mood you're in either- admit it! With most dives the experience is what you make it! It can be night and day of a difference if you take one friend as opposed to a group. Also- you don't want to be sober here- or at any dive ever! Why? Great dive bar to come for a quick drink! It is very much a locals bar, but the people are friendly and welcoming! Yes, sometimes the crowd gets a bit wild, but which place doesn't on occasion? If I could give 0 stars I would!! My friend went in to use the bathroom before we left, and the male bartender was yelling at me get out, continued to throw DARTS and TRASH at me. Screaming at me, "I have a maid service, I don't care" while I was telling him my friend was in the bathroom. He charged toward me and pushed me while security physically grabbed me, very unprofessional while I was just waiting for my friend in the restroom. I will NEVER RETURN. Very very poor service!! Pathetic. An Irish bar that usually can't make that Irish drink. They either don't stock the booze or are out because they order one bottle at a time per month and it's rolling around in the hot trunk of the owners car. Very poorly run. They don't care anymore. What Irish bar doesn't have Baileys Irish Cream or even the cheap imitations? Oh Grady's doesn't. Can't recall the last time they had any Jameson. Especially on St Patricks day! Shitty jukebox. Limited selection of tunes and it's an internet box! They'll be no long neck and a good ol' song. "Our customers are mostly CSUN students and they don't care about those things" goes the tale from the owner. A few troublemakers and addicts that need to be 86'd forever. That'll never happen. Their asses are kissed instead. They don't kick the bad people out. Bartender Joy being phased out is a welcome step forward though. A dinosaur that doesn't appreciate tips nor her good customers. My boyfriend and I were on vacation in LA and were looking for a fun divey bar to have a couple beers and play some darts. That's exactly what we found at Oh Grady's. When you first walk in it's a bit obnoxious how dark it is, but I suppose your eyes eventually adjust. They had a full bar with a couple small tvs around playing sports. There is a good amount of seating around the entrance. As you walk past the bar you'll find two electronic dart boards (very retro), one steel tip dart board, and a little farther back is a single pool table. Music was tight for our tastes. It ranged randomly from a new single by Bieber to old AFI and Blink. The crowd ranged from mid twenties to mid fifties. Everyone knew each other and some locals talked to us because of our tattoos and playing all the billiards they offered. Everyone was super nice and friendly. There's also a door in the back that leads to outside for the smokers. Nicely kept restrooms for separate genders. We had four beers (craft type not the crappy stuff like Budlight) and cost us $24. Definitely recommend this place for a relaxing, yet fun time. Great for date night out or hanging with friends. read more

Oh Grady's is a stereotypical neighborhood dive bar; complete with cash-only policy, a wide assortment of, rather odd patrons, and a board behind the bar that keeps note all of the regulars' birthdays that fall in this month. Lucky for us, we were romantically serenaded during our brief stay by the wails and whispers of the eclectic, Sunday-night, karaoke crowd. Some people enjoy dive bars for their intrinsic value, but the rest of us tolerate them for the cheap booze. Came here with some coworkers after work and found the atmosphere to be pleasant enough. The only thing that bugged me was that the bartender served questionable Bud Light on draft. Instead of being clear, the beer was significantly cloudy in the glass. Someone even took a sip of it and said the beer tasted off. By far the worst dive bar I've been to, and I just about only go to dive bars. Service is slow, and rude. The prices are once again not so divey. The beer option are basically limited to shock top, budweiser, and bud light. Thats it. 7-10$ for a mixed drink. (thats usually all mixer and no drink.) The atmosphere is older folks primarily, that generally scoff at the younger rowdy CSUN crowd trying to infiltrate. By the way that younger crowd is just gross. On any given night there may be a band playing, usually a hack led zeppelin cover band or something of the matter. I only ever go here because I can walk here from my house, and we usually only end up here because we're already drunk and dont want to drive anywhere but need to get out of the house. Make your night worth it and go to McG's, don't waste your time here. read more

Yes, Yes we know this bar isn't the best and isn't the most exciting. However, its certainly not the worst! Yes its small, and kind of has an older people smell, and it looks run down. And maybe I'm wrong for this, but not only do i base these establishments off of their food menus, tap selections and assortment of beers, i base it on the overall time i had with the company i bring along and the company that awaits me. I've been going to Oh Grady's on and off the past 2 years, and although its not my number one choice, i feel Oh Grady's always welcomes me (and my friends) whether I'm sober, or already two sheets to the wind. Its rather convenient for where I live, walking distance, which helps, and their beer selection isn't all that bad and the prices are reasonable. The crowd is usually older folk, and not very friendly, as we kids apparently have "invaded" their hangout. Note: its probably more fun to come when you've already had 3 or 4 beers or a couple of long islands, especially on karaoke nights. As embarrassing as it is, for them anyway, its entertaining and you get a few laughs. Overall, Oh Grady's is ok in my book. If you're looking for a place to have a quick beer or two with a friend, this place wouldn't be terrible. read more

Obviously I can't give this place 5 stars, but for a dive-bar, it was pretty good. I went there to see my friends band perform and was happy to see that it wasn't packed to capacity. Unfortunately, the problem became that I ordered drinks, only to be told that it's cash only. So my drinks stayed at the bar as I tried to figure out what to do... I only had two credit cards on me and I never gave them PINs so getting cashback was out of the question. In the end I was able to find some cash, but it would have been great if there had been a very clear sign somewhere saying CASH ONLY. The dart machine was fun times and I spent most of my time playing darts and having some drinks. I'm sure the bartender probably muttered under her breath since I ordered a Malibu and Coke, but hey...if they had had Guiness on tap like an Irish Pub should, then everything would be good. I guess they had had a chili cook-off that day as well, since there were a variety of chilis on a table by the jukebox. However, the cookoff was 2pm and it was now 10pm, so I'm not sure why they thought it was a good idea to leave it out for 8 hours. I was hungry however, and they definitely don't serve at that place, so off to Norms I went afterwards to grab some late night grub. All in all I had a good time, and if you're looking for a dive bar with some seedy characters, and cheap drinks, this place is definitely the go-to spot! read more

MY GOODNESS! I wish SO badly that we had a bar like this in Denver, I would probably never leave. My cousin hangs out here and brought Papi and I along, since we were in town, to watch some football. I have never felt so welcomed in a new place, and I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate it. To start, the owner (I think, a super hot woman with blonde hair and amazing... eyes) was the saving grace of this place. WIthout her it would just be another dive. She made a buffet for all of the football watchers, complete with hot dogs, nachos, an AMAZING barbecue brisket straight from a crock pot (literally, this was so endearing to me), and plenty of condiments. Are you kidding me? I felt like I was at a best friends backyard barbecue, not in a bar. Not only that, she was bartending at the time and was so friendly and welcoming it made me happier just being in her presence. Everyone seemed to know each other, everyone was well fed and happy (thanks to the presumed owner), people on opposite teams were joking with each other when one's team scored (no sort of resentment or tension- which is incredibly rare), and every single person in that place was completely content and happy. I have never gotten this vibe from a bar before. I have never walked into a bar and felt like I was at my buddy's house. This place is rare, and special, and an absolute gold mine in the area. The worst experience I have ever had at a bar. The beer tasted off. There was a 20 minimum on credit cards which would normally be no problem but after both my beer and my friends were tasting funny it became one. The bar tender ignored me twice to hang out with a group at the end of the bar and was drinking out of one of the glasses set at the bar (hopefully with the permission of the owner but who knows).
