Beautiful beach, be sure to visit at different times in the early morning and evening sunset to enjoy both low tide and high tide - totally different sights and experiences! Public restrooms and rocking chairs available, short term parking as well! Recommend walking to the beach if you can!

Walkable, long beach, with very light surf and wide area to play around. It was very busy on tuesday afternoon, even though it was very cloudy. Plenty of families were camped out in any open space, enjoying the summer weather. The sand is fine to very fine (great for sand castle building I bet), with no rocks or pebbles, so everybody was walking barefoot everywhere. There were a lot of folks playing beach games (this would be the place to come to checkout what the latest beach game craze is). There is a very large parking lot at the south end of the beach, with parking owned and managed by the city. Rate is $7 per hour, 1 hour minimum. To get to it, one has to pass through an intersection with no stop sign...need to be patient and careful to get through that during the day. There are a lot of facilities here, including a row of restaurants selling various fast food. There is also a very good, finer dining restaurant nearby (Lobster House) with very reasonable prices and killer views....but you can't wear your swimwear in there. We started at the south end walking near the surf, but soon realized how long it was. It's probably close to a mile, before you hit the next beach which is Footbridge Beach. The beach faces the East...I bet the sunrise is really great here (on a non-cloudy day...those exist in Maine, right?).

Amazing beach, very fun to walk along and enjoy the sand and water, very easy parking with a. Few places to eat right there across the street from the parking lot. The water can be chilly even in the summer but we got used to it pretty quick. High and low tide can look very different spectacular visuals.

Ogunquit Beach is my favorite little town in Maine. The beach is beautiful and clean, there is seating under an owning right at the entrance of the beach allowing anyone to sit and just enjoy the beach (very accessible friendly).

(SIDE NOTE: I usually come to Ogunquit Beach during the off season, so I can't speak to what it's like in the height of summer.) DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE'S DIRECTIONS TO GET HERE. They currently bring you through a small community of homes where you cannot access the beach (because you're technically behind it). Type in Norseman Resort or Ogunquit Beach Public Parking. That being said: the Main Beach parking lot can hold over 400 cars, has bathrooms (that are frequently open during the off season!), and outdoor showers. Shoulder season here is considered April 24thish to June 11this (prices are $20 Monday through Thursday, $25 Friday through SUnday); in-season is considered June 12thish to September 12th (prices are $30 Monday through Thursday, $35 Friday through Sunday). I would check the Oqunquit municipal parking lot website for an updated calendar though (and for more suggestions on other parking lots [Footbridge Beach is a quieter alternative, for example] and prices). This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire state of Maine. It's an enormous expanse (three plus miles!) of white, super soft sand with uninterrupted views of an endless ocean. Absolutely. Stunning. There's no big, jagged rocks, and even at low tide - when there's several hundred yards of beach space down to the water - it remains almost entirely pebble free! This is a beach that at high tide, though, is almost *completely* covered up to the dunes (eg: there's very little space for your stuff)! It is often named as one of the best beaches in the entire state (sometimes the country)... this means it's also one of the busiest beaches in the entire state. You've been warned! But... coming here during off season? Exceptional. Always a lovely walk. And there's so many different kinds of birds here! Be careful in the spring/early summer of the plovers and other endangered/near-threatened shorebirds (don't approach them, fill in any holes you made in the sand, and leave their nesting areas alone).

I love this beach..it was our first time going there and it was a learning experience but a great one. We went to the main beach which basically has two parts. The river which is perfect for little kids like my five year old who was learning to stand on the water with his boogie board and for them to just enjoy the water while we are right there. Especially not having the saves however it does drain sometimes. Next is the main beach, which they had so many signs and so many things at the beach that day. Like kites and sand building contests. We had a sunrise picnic which was amazing. I love that it creates this tiny little warm pools of water when it's low tide that my kids can play in. Overall I love this beach

This beach is one of the top ten I've been to ever! Three miles of beach to walk and enjoy. Within walking distance to my hotel, perfect for getup early to catch the breathtaking sunrises. To the exploring the coastline and the sand during low tide. The sand is this extra fine grains that is so soft. Something about the tidal river meeting the Atlantic Ocean... it works making the sand so soft. The beach, boardwalks and coastline path are kept so clean. Lots of benches throughout to relax and enjoy the scenery. Lots of wildlife to observe, enjoyed all the birds and ducks. The beach is super close to restaurants, breweries and shops.

Loved, loved, loved this beach. If you, like most, get here before high tide, you will be relegated to the small, therefore, swath of VERY crowded beach that is above the high tide mark. If you wait though until after the tide has gone out, you will be rewarded with a large, firm stretch of beach that is far, far less crowded, closer to the water, and, for us, the perfect place to plop down our chairs & bodies for a long afternoon of sun & ocean (& seagulls trying to swoop down & grab our lunch). It is also a terrific & looooong beach to walk on (all the way to WELLS) & take in a perfect sunrise. We loved it for all three: walks, sunrise & solid sand for lazing away the afternoon in the sun. The river side of this beach is also really enjoyable. Parking is limited, so try to walk here.

Love this beach. The walking path is one of my favorites in all of the northeast. The views are just stunning. And there are plenty of benches. Sunsets here are super romantic. I could seriously sleep there. There are several waterfront hotels, so there are usually people around, but could still walk without feeling uncomfortable with the crowds. Weekends are obviously more crowded. Plenty of restaurants in the area and one very close to the beach. Parking is $20 or $30 depending on the time. There are other lots further out but if you're staying for a few hours, it'll cost you about the same.

    High tide covered everything.

I loved this place but I wish I knew a couple of things. 1-there is no free parking, we paid $25. 2-when it's high tide you have to find higher grounds. I wish I knew that. We arrived at the beach around 9am and we left around 12:30. We thought about waiting out but with small children that wasn't gonna happen. I'll go back next year with a plan lol.

Beautifully fine flat sandy beaches which seem to stretch forever at low tide (our favorite time to go). At the ebb, it's great fun to walk over the sandbars (water only up to your ankle or knee) from the main beach over to the opposite shore where Little Beach and the Marginal Way is. Also, great fun perusing the rock pools and inlets for all sorts of tidal life (shrimp, isopods, snails, whelks, mussels, clams, green crabs, hermit crabs - if you're lucky, an occasional baby lobster or sea star!) and finding buried treasure in the form of big clam shells or sea dollars. High tide also offers it's own challenges with a high surf and swift currents. Either way, be prepared because the water can be quite chilly!

    Is this beach dog friendly?

Not during Summer months. Not 100% on this but I'm pretty sure. I believe it's seasonal say from end September to Memorial Day also from dusk to dawn during summer months dogs are allowed on beach. However service dogs are always allowed.

Let's just say, folks kept at least 12' from the person next to them, in front of them, behind them, etc so my mood was further lifted. In keeping with the summer vibe, I didn't want to leave Maine without stepping foot at a beach. But I also wanted our beach outing to be a healthy one and more importantly- safe without people hovering all over me. Ogunquit Beach was our initial visit- but the parking lot was jam-packed so was the sand area. We took off and a short drive later, came here. $25 to park and masks required walking on ramps. Folks in front of us kept a noticeable distance- but there were folks behind us and next to us who weren't nearly distant enough for me to make me want to stay more than the 45 minutes we were here. But I will say, there are restrooms, outdoor showers, beach is well kept, and the water....oh man....the water looked like sapphire. Under (real) normal circumstances, I would've had my fill of beach time, then head out for Lobsters. Just one of those was achieved.
