Even though we were visiting fairly early in the year and before the real tourist season began, Leah and her staff at Lighthouse Bikes were nice enough to let us be their first official tour of the 2026 season! We had a lovely private tour through the city with Ross, who was as passionate as ever about the city's history even despite the cold temperatures we biked in. Off we went on the Cotton Valley Rail Trail for a three hour tour headed to Wolfeboro. Lots of stops and starts along the way as she became more familiar with the bike. I'd recommend a longer ride so you'd have more time in Wolfeboro for lunch, ice cream or exploring the shops. The trail is well maintained and an easy ride. The Aventon bikes were in excellent condition and we had the chance to try a couple of different models. Our tour guides Julie and Peter had a wealth of information to share. We were able to go inside a couple of the very old homes we learned about. We happened to book the tour on the 3rd day of the new season, so there were only three of us, which was nice! I highly recommend. Crashed my bike on monday. I dropped my bike off at another local bike shop that day as the brake…read morewas rubbing even though i made adjustments myself. Day passed. No call on the status of the bike for 24 hrs. Went and took my bike back as i am on vacation in ogunquit. Thought i would try this place. The owner made the brake adjustment right then and there insuring there was not damage to the carbonite frame. As it took him about 5 mins, he didnt charge me ANYTHING. I am big on integrity and because of that i will go back here again!
