Captain Tom at his best.

Great lobster tour. Perfect amount of time to see activity and not too much else going on. Very nice crew and what a nice ride and view!

We have tried the lobster boat tour, nubble lighthouse, and the sunset cocktail cruise. All 3 we enjoyed. Good hosts, friendly, good with kids on board, and a nice ride along the coast of Maine to see things from a different angle. We come to Ogunquit annually and find these boat tours out of Perkins Cove to be a nice change up in our routine there and something to highlight our trip with. We will come again for sure.

My wife really wanted to go see the Nubble lighthouse so I surprised her with a boat tour. We were originally supposed to go on the 2 o'clock tour but we asked if we could change it to 12 and they said yes! The boat is adorable and comfortable and the narrator we had was funny and entertaining! I have been out on the Atlantic before just not that far up north so I'm not sure the water is always like that. The water looked calm but once we were out there it seemed rough. I thought the captain did an amazing job steering the boat and keeping everyone pretty dry and calm. Would definitely recommend and would go again!!!

As my lighthouse tour with New England Eco Adventures got cancelled due to rough seas, I rescheduled with these folks as they had fair rates and good reviews. A solid move on my part. Even though most of the people on my tour were on the older side, I felt the boat tour of Nubble Light was both fun and engaging. They do allow you to bring your own food on board and alcohol is permitted. Thankfully people are courtesy (by the way, everybody in Maine is super friendly), and as the tour progressed, more people became friendly. I highly suggest a tour of Nubble Light with them. If that is not your fancy, you could go lobstering with them too. Apparently that is fun as well. Whichever you choose, I am sure you will be satisfied.

Very informative, interactive experience. I'd have loved a longer excursion. They stressed the various criteria for which lobsters can be kept. Many are thrown back to grow, reproduce, etc.

We loved it. It's very conveniently located. It's also a gorgeous view from the bridge. It's very easy to just order online and not have to worry about waiting to get there. You can't miss it because it's right there in Perkins cove. Also, the boat is super nice for what it is. It's a lobster boat. However It definitely feels up quickly so I recommend getting it but it was perfect for my 5 and 10-year-old. You get on the boat and they're super helpful and super nice. When you start going, the water is definitely a little back and forth. However, All the facts you're hearing are super good I love that we learned a lot about lobsters and learned a lot about Maine. it's gorgeous views And I really love that you get to like see the lobsters touch them. The kids get to like run things about them. It's super nice. I would recommend to anyone. It's the perfect amount of boat experience

Just took our Girl Scout Troop on the lobster boat ride for a trip to remember! People from all over the world we're on our boat. We got to hold lobsters and learn all about the Maine coastline. All of the kids even got a turn, steering the boat! If you are local or visiting, a trip on the Finest Kind is a must do!

Finestkind is a must in Ogunquit! My family goes every year on their vacation and my husband and I take all of our friends when they visit us. they pour a cocktail and you learn all about the coast of Maine and the beautiful Nubble Lighthouse! The tour guides are all truly gems and we always learn something new. Cannot recommend this tour enough!

The Gift Sailing - A great day of sailing on the maine coast

The Gift Sailing

(13 reviews)

On the annual Maine vacation my family takes, my husband and I decided on a whim to go sailing. We…read moreare huge fans of all things sail, we have a tiny boat ourselves and love to go out on huge boats we have no chance of owning ourselves. While the trip left early (we found ourselves scratching our heads, standing on the dock twenty minutes early), the mistake was an honest one and the boat turned around to pick us up. Once we actually boarded things were off to a good start! I loved that they didn't crowd the boat- we've been on a couple trips on other vessels where every last spot gets taken and you find yourself making serious body contact with strangers. Yes, there was the usual older gentleman sailing aficionado type that wanted to make sure everyone onboard knew how much of a sailing expert he was, but eventually even he settled in... The captain of The Gift is personable and interesting and very chill. There was no need to force conversation, but he was ready with a story, cool facts and answers to questions whenever needed. A couple of people got sick, and the crew was very considerate first pretending not to notice for privacy's sake and then offering water. One thing to note is that the protocol for this sail trip seems to be going out on the water and kind of wandering around. This isn't a trip that happens in the same exact routine way, five times a day, every day of the year. I think this is a great feature, but if you're looking for memorized facts about the coast and one set route of touristy sightseeing, this isn't the trip for you. This one is just about hitting the water and enjoying the wind!

I wish zero stars was an option, as my family had a horrible experience. There were no positive…read moreaspects, but most importantly, the sail is run in an unsafe, irresponsible manner. The boat is small and shabby, and there's insufficient comfortable seating, which meant that some of our party had to be uncomfortably perched on the side of the boat. We couldn't hear anything the entire sail, although we were told we didn't miss much) and for one person, this included the quietly mentioned instructions to move our feet before we turned. Why this wasn't explained loudly before we even left the cove, is beyond me. This led to him almost being pulled off the boat, and with a terrible rope burn that required medical treatment. The "crew" could not have been less concerned, and expressed nothing but annoyance. Even if this had not occurred, the sail would have been painfully boring if we weren't all trying not to vomit from the rough waves. We sailed straight out, straight back in, and then repeated. There truly couldn't have been less effort put in to the experience. Bottom line, if you value safety and competence, avoid this boat at all costs.
