    Beautiful sunset
    Evonna S.

Oh what an amazing time! The Pineapple Ketch is a beautiful clipper, the captain was kind and funny! Conner was sweet and very knowledgeable with just enough information about the sites without overwhelming us! We throughly enjoy the peaceful 2 hour sunset tour and I'll highly recommend this tour to anyone heading to Kennebunk, ME!

Very nice sail trips to see and hear about the town. We went with our three year old and had a great time.

What great fun! We took the morning tour a few days ago and loved every part of it. We learned a…read morelot about lobsters, met some really nice people, got a terrific boat ride and came away delighted and maybe even a little better educated about the crustaceans. We highly recommend it. More specifically, we took the 75 minute trip with maybe 15 others on a small lobster boat. It was a breezy day and the boat did a fair amount of rockin' and rollin' to the point that one in our party got seasick. The crew quickly got her a pail, she threw up, and all was fine after that. Passengers are given wrist pressure bands on boarding which helps maybe. Our seasick partner confessed afterwards that she also loved the trip in spite of the brief problem. Watching lobsters hauled on board and learning about their habits was fascinating, and Lauren was a wonderful guide for us. We felt safe always, and just had a blast. The boat dock is located directly behind the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, and you'll have to walk through the resort grounds in the back to get to it. We got lost but only briefly. The trip was $49 per person, which we thought was a bargain considering the fun.

This was such a fun lobster boat ride despite the crummy weather that interrupted the last portion…read moreof our tour. We appreciated the quick actions of the captains getting us back to the marina safely, while still making the tour fun and educational (they were both very friendly and informative). Not only did we learn about lobsters/the lobster industry in Maine, but we also got some background and history surrounding Walker's Point and the Bush family. The parking situation is a little tricky if you've never been. The marina is located behind the Nonantum Resort, which has private parking for resort patrons. You CAN park here even if you're not staying at the Nonantum. Once parked, you'll walk around the back of the property to the marina. The pool for the resort will be directly behind you (surrounded by a white fence). There are also bathrooms just beyond the pool fence (toward the resort and away from the marina) that you can use before or after your tour. We'd definitely do this tour again and I'll be recommending it to friends and family who visit the area.

We enjoyed a good lobster boat tour with First Chance. The cruise is on a pretty large boat that…read morehas both covered and open seating. They pack about 40 people on each run, but we had plenty of room to walk around and view everything. Our guide was very funny and kept us all engaged during the tour. The captain did a good job of keeping us on track. You get to see a whole lot of Kennebunkport on this tour. The boat passes the Bush compound for some cool shots along with many other huge estates. The pace is comfortable and you have plenty of time to take pictures or ask questions. Two lobster traps are picked up and we got like 7 lobsters on our tour. They are rubber banded and we are allowed to play with / photograph them. It is a very cool experience and you learn a lot about the laws and rules in place to sustain the lobster population. Very good tour at a good value. Check it out!

Of course, no whales are *promised* on this cruise, but we did happen to see a few mini-breaches…read morewhen we were the farthest out we could really go. The drawbacks are that it's a hike to get to Kennebunkport. Its a tourist town and crowded AF in the summer... all the things I don't like. That comes with the territory. The vessel, while not overly crowded, does not have the best seating in the world. If you have a bad back, as I do, there is limited seating that has adequate back support. All the demanding hags will claim as many of the seats as they can for non-present family members. Advise you to get there as early as you can, get in the queue, and push all the Karens out of the way so you can get your claim to the best possible seat. Lots of little scamps running around (in the summer) too. That being said, the whales do not have scheduled showing on certain sides of the boat. We were lucky to see the first breach on our side... but in total the number and scale of the breaches was a little underwhelming. The commute for the vessel in/out of the harbour and to/from the farthest point was major sleepy time. I would not do it again. They do offer vouchers that are (supposedly) infinitely good to come back if there were no whale sightings. The price is not so bad though. If you want to experience a lengthy boat ride, then this is for you.

While visiting the Kennebunks, I decided to book my first ever foodie tour with Maine Day Ventures…read more This three hour tour not only covered delicious eats, but delivered in history. As our tour group visited each restaurant, we got a side of Kennebunkport history and the insider scoop as to where all of the locals dine. Marlene Brooks is an exceptional host and tour guide. She is a 13th generation Mainer and provided such detail about each local spot including the history behind our food. Her professionalism and Maine pride was evident throughout the tour. The ticket price for this experience was around $145. In my opinion, it is well worth the price because it is an opportunity to meet new people, learn more about Maine, and try different restaurants. Marlene took our group to some restaurants that my friend and I didn't know existed. Some advice would be to arrive on the tour hungry because you get to try so many delicious plates. By the end, my friend and I were full. Below please find some of the places we visited and the food we enjoyed: 1. Fiafia - mixed berry smoothie 2. Alisson's - lobster roll (you get a choice between three - the original, lemon garlic, or lobster chowder) 3. Federal Jack's - clam chowder with potatoes and a sample of beer 4. Mornings in Paris - whoopie pie and a choice of coffee or select tea 5. The Pilot House - fried haddock bites 6. Bar Harbor Cheesecake - cheesecake sample (can have more than one) This foodie tour encouraged me to try other food tours when traveling to new places. Marlene and Maine Day Ventures left a lasting impression and added great value to my Maine trip. The Kennebunks are filled with a rich history, excellent seafood, and the most friendly people. Thank you for a great experience!
