I don't know the gentleman's name who delivers and picks up the kayaks but he was super knowledgeable about the area and gave great directions! As our tour group visited each restaurant, we got a side of Kennebunkport history and the insider scoop as to where all of the locals dine. Marlene Brooks is an exceptional host and tour guide. She is a 13th generation Mainer and provided such detail about each local spot including the history behind our food. Her professionalism and Maine pride was evident throughout the tour. The ticket price for this experience was around $145. In my opinion, it is well worth the price because it is an opportunity to meet new people, learn more about Maine, and try different restaurants. Marlene took our group to some restaurants that my friend and I didn't know existed. Some advice would be to arrive on the tour hungry because you get to try so many delicious plates. By the end, my friend and I were full. Below please find some of the places we visited and the food we enjoyed: 1. Fiafia - mixed berry smoothie 2. Alisson's - lobster roll (you get a choice between three - the original, lemon garlic, or lobster chowder) 3. Federal Jack's - clam chowder with potatoes and a sample of beer 4. Mornings in Paris - whoopie pie and a choice of coffee or select tea 5. The Pilot House - fried haddock bites 6. This was in the middle of a 2 month trip and we simply needed an answer, so we could make other arrangements if we couldn't get in. I called and emailed Red Apple 3-4 times a week. Silent for 6 months. Then when they finally returned calls, they did t go in order received. One friend got a call and got a poor site, with his first call to them two months after all of our calls. When they did call back,the woman was incredibly rude. She offered me the only site available and said, "we have regular returning customers", who we book earlier than our normal calendar and they book a year in advance. This would have been nice to know. My discussion with this woman, wasn't about the site, but was how they advertise. She wanted to argue and could only repeat that she was NOW returning my call (months later and weeks after the park was open) and said "take it or leave it. Traveling with 5 others, we had to leave it and found an amazing RV Park a few miles away. The employee there welcomed all of us. What a contrast. Especially after booking at 25 other rv Parks on this trip. I had heard this is a nice park. I don't doubt that, but what a disappointment. No zero's available for this park, but def zero for their reservations and favoritism system.

It is just the right size and has lots of activities for kids. I stayed here because my friends have a summer spot. My neighbors smoked, the others had loud music, and there is a firing range close by. My dog is terrified. We managed, of course! She had her safe spot with me in our tiny camper. Everyone was really nice. The staff were so kind. There are lots of trails in the area for hiking or you can just stay at the campground and swim, either in the pool or in the pond. They offer bike, kayak, and other rentals. There is a large rec area and a small store. The sites are clean and spacious. We enjoyed the Bark Park! I booked late - I think had I known I was going to camp this weekend and booked earlier - I could have booked a spot further away from all the action. That being said - the firing range is still a big deterrent for me because of my beloved dog. So if you want a nice place for your kids and don't mind the firing every night and all day Sunday - this is the spot for you!
