We are staying at Sandy Pines Campground and they have a sign up for kayak rentals. We rented a tandem (2 person) kayak for 3 hours this afternoon (you can only make reservations a during high tide hours). We had a BLAST. It's less than 25 minutes to get to a white sand beach to dock / swim / walk. The water was crystal clear and not too deep! I don't know the gentleman's name who delivers and picks up the kayaks but he was super knowledgeable about the area and gave great directions! Amazing trip! We had so much fun paddling the outer harbor by Biddeford Pool. We booked in advance and they met us right on time. The man we spoke to recommended we go in the afternoon because of the tides, so that's what we did. It was a perfect afternoon! We got a few tandem kayaks and the parents, grandparents and kids all had fun! We paddled to a few little islands and Wood Island, and had a nice walk out to the lighthouse. All in all a beautiful Maine afternoon. Highly recommend this activity- would definitely go again! read more

We visited Maine for our honeymoon and wanted to go kayaking - it was a 10/10 experience!! Stefan was super helpful and explained the limited booking availability and potential for bad weather in early June - and seemed very ready to accommodate a last minute cancellation in the case of inclement weather. We're locals who live in Kennebunk. I can't even imagine how this guy treats tourists he never has to deal with again. As we were pulling by the boat launch, we saw this guy's truck waiting and started to park. After we found a spot (as you might guess, it's often difficult to find parking around a boat launch) we walked to where he was, and to our surprise he was driving away. We immediately called him, thinking he'd come right back, but were told, "it's like an airport - if you're a minute late I leave, and you forfeit your payment." Was incredibly rude to my wife, which you can suspect ruined our whole afternoon. So if you have to choose this company: 1. Put it on a credit card so you can easily chargeback if he pulls this. 2. Get there 30 minutes early. 3. As he said, what he provides is "like an airport terminal." Instead of looking forward to a day on the water while on vacation, anticipate an experience like being at an airport. The other negative reviews are spot-on: He'd much rather be punitive than try to work something out. If you've ever dealt with a tow-truck operator, this is the kind of vibe he has. There are so many of these companies run by wonderfully friendly and reasonable Mainers. Don't take a chance with this guy when you're vacationing in our beautiful state. read more

KE are knowledgeable, was on time and have safe equipment. I'm a 49Yr old dad with a 12Yr old daughter and 10yr old son and we did the 3 HR/half day, and kayaked Cape Porpoise. We paddled out to Goat Island lighthouse and was able to go up in the tower. Then had time to go to another island that had soft sand to pull your kayaks up. That was a fantastic swimming spot. If you're looking for a bike rental in the goose rocks beach area STAY CLEAR OF THIS CHICKEN SHIT OPERATION!! The Fabio look a like with Fred flinstone feet and toes arrived to our campsite late, reeking of booze and weed. The bikes were rusted out shit tubes on bald mismatched tires. The helmets appeared never cleaned, and baskets look like yesterday's barnacle covered lobster traps. After the rental, the bikes stayed on our site for days. Probably because the Stoney marone felt it more imperative to flirt with anything that had a pulse at the pool. Renter beware of this scumbag STAY AWAY! read more

We were given a quick but detailed lesson on handling kayaks. The kayaks were clean and well maintained. The return pick up was on time. Best customer service & best fun family activity! This is a little late but I felt I had to share...we rented kayaks from Stefan at Kayak Excursions during August of 2013 in Maine. We were on vaca and spur-of-the-moment decided to rent kayaks. Looked up closest rentals to our location (only 3 showed) and I started making calls. First place failed epic - rude, ignorant & very poor info; second place was a very nice young guy however had no rentals available; third place was Kayak Excursions - excellent customer service and he had rentals! Some people don't care about CS but to me it means everything. Stefan was a gems (rare find in retail). Perfect phone skills - professional, informative & great temperament! He gave answers to questions before I even asked. He informed me of everything I needed to know about renting kayaks and ocean kayaking (very important seeing none of us had ever ocean kayaked before or knew the area!!) Stefan's way of informing was perfect - no miss information or fake niceness, just to get our money he was not a used car salesman! He was so good, he asked a few questions and that helped in choosing what area (he had lots of locations) would be great for my family and taking his word we planned to meet at Goose Rock Beach in less than 2hrs! He arrived on time with all the kayaks and had everything as promised (including water proof maps and dry bags) and in the perfect condition he claimed. He was again professional, informative and very friendly. He made all 5 of us feel very confident fast in ocean kayaking and to say the area was perfect is an understatement! We wanted more than just a nice sandy beach, we wanted waves and something to explore - like an island or a river. Stefan nailed it with Goose Rocks Beach. Looking back on our vacation, kayaking was one of the best days! My family loved it! We had so much fun and lots of laughing! We plan to rent from Kayak Excursions again this August on vacation, except we will rent for the whole week instead of just one day. My family ages 49-13 highly recommends Kayak Excursions!! Great experience! We reserved 2 paddle boards and a kayak a couple of weeks before our yearly trip to Keenebunk. We used the online reservation system with no issues and were even pleasantly surprised to be reimbursed what we thought was a delivery fee for the rentals! No fee to deliver to our doorstep! We called upon arrival and they were delivered right away, exactly as expected. We enjoyed paddling around the Mousam River near Parsons Beach all week.
